@KautoMassiniman I would say that while AP is clearly a fantastic sportsman, I wouldn't call him a 'personality'. But it seems that 293152 people think he is!
@scrishton ahaha, I do agree. He's a bit focused to have much of a personality, which is a shame, but i guess he wouldn't be this good, I suppose loss of personality is a small price to pay.
I had a 'large bet' even though it was only 8/11 on this horse and I almost threw my ticket away. But I couldnt stop laughing when one by one they fell, refused or pulled up and Family Business sauntered home alone. Has to be my luckiest bet / winnings ever.

this is why hes a legend to racing fans,,, hes a demi god,,, if he dosent win sports personality of the year its a complete joke,,, everyday he puts it on the line..and ok sometimes hes loses..but at least you know he gives every horse every owner his very best,, tony your a true sporting legend
I very much remember this you guys as i came down at the 2nd on the grey mare called Star Control, they caught the horse but not me as i was already back in the weighing room. ( Good old McCoy) Richard Hobson.
Mc Coy is unseated, just like the rest of them. How can he possibly be allowed to remount and reenter the race ? Is n't that against the rules of racing ?
@kajamix Jockey's used to be allowed to remount their horses if they fell or unseated, but they're not allowed to anymore in case the horse is injured etc :)
@kajamix No, remounting is totally allowed. Its very rare, say, 1 in million, but in the 2001 GN 3 horses remounted, Blowing Wind, who finished 3rd, Papillon, who was 4th, and Lance Armstrong (it doesnt mention him in the commentart cos he's so far behind) who fell again. Watch it, great race
i love how this commentator just begins to laugh as he talks - that's just one unlucky race! i reckon these horses all planned this - the first 5 all fell/ unseated in a similar way, then the number 6 horse refused attempted to refuse twice, then Red Radish followed suit, then the final horse chucks his jockey off! the fact that none of them got injured is amazing! im sure they all thought this through... talking in the parade rings ought to be avoided methinks! haha XD well done McCoy xxx

hahah quality mate..im a mad fan off jump racing and i used to follow you a bit! ...i used to think you were well worth ya (7lb) claim...whats happening at the mo u still riding??
Still a legend with out doubt....but thought he got it wrong today with Binocular. Should have at the very least beaten Celestial Halo whom he had thrashed twice albiet under different conditions...Should have pressed the GO button well before the last. Still the man who never made a mistake never made anything. Aintree next stop where he will win with the legend on top.
@azertyuiop32 the mans will to win and absolute inability to accept defeat is trully inspirational of all the great rides i have seen his ride on wichita lineman at the festival a few years ago was incredible even the commentater was astonished he forced it home racing fans will only realise how great a jockey he is when he goes which is a great shame.thankfully he at least won sports personality of the year
Family business came to us from pipes yard with a broken pelvis and broken confidence. we got him right and he proved to be a fantastic jumper = won point to points for us as well as the 31/2 mile hunterchase at chepstow with an 'exhibition round of front running and jumping.' He is now retired and bossing around his younger half brother who we hope will be as good as him.
The Feast of St Raymond Novices Chase! St Raymond must be the patron saint of bad jumpers. Thanks for posting that race, been wanting to see it for years. Any chance you could upload the full race minus the music? The Racing Post summarised the race as ' A farce of a race which defies analysis' Not surprisingly Eaux Les Coers was switched to hurdles for her next race which she promptly won, though sadly died later that year. Well done A.P. on a truly remarkable achievement. 3000 not out!

Unfortunately the race was too long ago to download from ATR, & yes, Family Business was AP's mount in this race.

It was at Southwell not sedgefield. It wont work on ATR- i tried & failed!
