You can take a Open water class in a dry suit if you do all the pool work in the dry suit. But you need to ask your self about the instructor the same shop has killed two students in two years. It's not the PADI shop in Spokane it was the other one.
We teach in drysuits up here, it would be kinda cruel not to. bc canada mid 40's in winter

why a dry suit for first dive ?
to dive with a drive suit you need a draining of about 4 hours just to dive with a dry suit and 5 DAYs TO GET YOU FIRST PADI level ??????
