I've seen a similar concept of the Sylvari in Dungeon Siege II.. i'll be honest, I think Guild War's design is so much more elegant and somewhat regal. They've really done a fantastic job giving the Sylvari a backstory and presence in this game. I'm looking forward to it :) Nothing but thumbs-up from me!

In the comic-con press conference Jaeho lee said without actually saying it (hope u know what i mean, dutch ) gw2 will be released in 2012. Wether its spring or winter, we do not know, so it could be a year. But who cares? I'd like to wait and see a perfect gameplay, one that has no bugs, well balanced combat and epic dynamic events as they promised.

holy shit. if this was a complete rip off WoW, aion whatever but redisigned with new charactoristics. I would play the shit out of it just because it does it better. How will armour work with these characters? surely you will lose most of the plant detail which is the main feature of the sylvari as soon as you put on some heavy armour. whereas with Charr and Asura for example you will always be able to tell the difference because of the size and shape differences.

@flats27 On their blog, ANet talks about Sylvari armor and clothes.... The armor and clothes /are/ plant detail. They grow from the sylvari.

From what I understand, each armor piece has a unique variant for the race. Any armor set for the Sylvari will end up being 'nature-fied'. This doesn't mean that plate armor would turn into leaves, though. It would probably be a combination of metal plates and strong bark.

@kajbjo I looked up your Silvan elves and they look like elves. Sylvaris are made up of different plants mimicing a human. If you look up the word "Silva" it's latin for the word forest. Wow graphics are absolutely divine...it's so amazing, I've seen a lot of gameplay graphics before but they made the Sylvari look just stunning, it's beautiful. This race is so unique, not many mmos have their nature like elfs look like this, they look more organic then your typical tree elf or etc. It's like a new evolution of a race for mmos, well done Kristen and Anet.
