Penney and several other nice stores too..Yes, Wal-Mart is always a factor in the local business economy but you have to remember, sales taxes in Mississippi are cheaper than Louisiana too..
The area just outside of Detroit is pretty too, as is Baton Rouge and hundred's of other places....The video speaks for itself.....This is the REAL Kentwood.....Politics, lack of interest, motivation and money all took part in the death of Kentwood...What was once a great little town is nothing more than a wasteland..
Why don't people ever show thing like N. river Rd. or Lewiston or even on out 38 to Mt. Hermon.. This is not what all of kentwood looks like people.. This was mainstreet a long time ago but highway was built through K-town and Mainstreet was forgot about not 3 miles down the roud its beautiful countryside
From downtown, take Hwy. 38 East...Go to N.Lewiston Rd & turn left...It is the complex that is north of the pond with the double driveway to the west with a clearing to the east of the road...Security cameras are in use & dogs roam the property..
Unless you have never been to town for the past 10 years, you'd had better take a ride down main street....This is the north side of it....This was filmed over a year ago..It probably looks worse by now..
@sezwho2000 um no i currently live here ive lived her my whole life and its improved since last year as a matter of fact we have craft sales down this road every month...im proud of where im from too...
People paint a rosy picture of Kentwood because of Britney Spears..Maybe someone will see that video & understand that Kentwood has fallen by the wayside and could use some financial help in getting back on it's feet
Nope..That is what happens when a entire downtown section is neglected for decades...Roofs cave in & walls fall over..What a shame..Loads of Kentwood history just fading away..
Actually I have seen many towns like this one all across the USA..Depends on what your tax base is and what kind of jobs the town supports makes a big difference in the appearance of the town..I don't think Britney should give anything back to the town..What she has is hers and as for her house, it is far east of town away from anything or anybody..
Yup - that is what is left of the downtown section..Roofs have caved in & walls have tumbled over..What they should do is bulldoze the whole section down..It would be better to see a empty area instead of a breeding ground for rats...I am really surprised that Kentwood would let those buildings & all that history just crumble away..
Y'all don't shit about Kentwood!! There's more to Kentwood than old ass broke down buildings.. Go to Kentwood for yourself and you'll see..
