I don't understand how the RAM isn't popular a lot of people in my area drive one.... No! the Silverado should have a lower resale than the RAM it looks too plain. & the F-150 maybe depending on which model of the F-150 it is.
Haha, you won't like the dodge ram (or any full size truck for that matter) if you want good fuel economy. Well no shit sherlock! I'm pretty sure people who want good fuel economy are going to buy a prius. God, why even bring it up.
Got mine in 09. originally went to the ford dealer, but they would not budge on the price at all. Then went to chevy and was extremely unimpressed by the cheapness of how it felt. Plus, even the chevy 2500 with 6.0L vortec did not like to move when you hit the gas. plus, based on my luck with chevy in the past, i decided to walk away from that. then test drove the dodge and was extremely impressed. I always hated them, but this truck is worth checking out. plus it has lifetime powertrain
The Dodge Ram is the superior truck. It has the power and most comfortable ride I've ever experienced in a truck...including previous Rams with leaf springs. The Hemi is just awesome and with its combination of styling...Ram pulls ahead of the competition. I did consider Ford mainly for resale value, but their price was too high. Chevy's bland cross platform styling didn't peek my interest. But beware if you are considering a Ram. Its resale value will plummet as soon as you pull off the lot.
All American trucks are good. But dodge, chevy/gmc, are not as reliable as the new ford F-150. I rather have a truck that's going to not be in the shop and cost lots of money. IMO
@NativeSmackahoe46 What did it go in for? I know people down the street from me that have an 08 f-150 xlt super crew with the 5.4L and it's never been in the shop for anything other then an oil change, tires and brakes. Which is normal shit. My brother in law is the manager at the local Mr. Rooter plumbing and they mostly have 05 and 06 chevy and gmc's that are always in the shop for big repairs, compared to there old 01 e-350 van.
@giannial1985 Can't afford an F-150. Had a Ranger since 2002 for a work truck and my get to and from school/work truck. The MAJOR problem was a busted oil pan gasket, and the oil pan is in a place where everything; moto, trans, AC... has to be pulled. Also the antifreeze leaked into the system, and breaks are ruined.
ford over filled my oil, causing the gaskets to bust
Ford was suppose to check if anything was leaking into the system, obviously not
@NativeSmackahoe46 Well that sucks. I wonder why the oil pan gasket went? Did the oil pan hit something? I know rangers well, one of my friends father has one, it's a 2000 and has had no issues. Those mechanics are idiots for over filling your oil. And antifreeze leaking into the engine, would mean a bad head gasket. The breaks thing could have been prevented. Fords aren't bad though, I have a 99 escort with 125,000 miles and no issues. Seems like those mechanics messed with your truck.
@giannial1985 The breaks were wearing down, and we had them "checked" every time and paid an additional amount to have them checked. And obviously they were not. So You can see why I am pissed.
@NativeSmackahoe46 Yeah, they obviously were messing around and trying to get more money from you. There are mechanics like that. It sucks. I bring my escort to a ford dealer and recently, I started getting a humming from the right back wheel, after they had taken it off to check my breaks. I bet you anything, that they messed with my wheel bearing.
i really like the dodge and chevy so which one is better and i dont like ford there trucks are to danm big they need to start making 18 wheelers so which one is better out of dodge and chevy
im thinking about trading in my honda civic for a dodge ram slt trx 4x4 sport. as far as gas goes i think of it this way: the civic has a 13g tank and the ram 1500 has a 26g tank. the civic gets 28 city, so 13g/tank times 28 mpg = 364 mi/tank; the ram gets 13 city, so 13 mpg times 26g/tank = 338 mi. On the highway, the mpg is about equal, with my calculations being around 468 mi/tank highway for both. i just a vehicle with a lot of power in it.
Sorry, Kelley Blue Book, I won't be buying into Toyota Level Quality, since that seems to be all about sticking accelorator pedals and such, these days. I'm glad the Ram (or the GM and Ford trucks, for that matter.) isn't at that level of quality, lol.
do you realy want to go there. you shoud look up all of the recalls that ford chevy and dodge has had over the years and compair it to toyotas track record and and stfu.
@ chaosad09 Seriously, man, what truck hasn't had a recall? It's just that I could drive a truck, from either of the big three and not have to worry about the frame rusting, after a few years or the gas pedal suddenly sticking, and before you know it, my life is flashing before my eyes. It's just that if toyota has all this imeccable quality, then these wouldn't have been issues, in the first place?
the reason that they are making such a big deal about the toyota recall is because it is not all that common for toyota to have problems like that. and after they fix all of their issuses people in american/canadian/mexican vehicles can sit on the side of the road broke down because of electrical problems and dumb shit like that and watch all of the toyotas drive by.
@ chaosad09 I suppose if I were biased, I'd say the same thing, as you too. I'll tell my cousin, who has an '08 Tundra, that you said all the toyotas are going to drive by all the other vehicles, along the side of the road, but I think he's going to laugh at you. Right now, he's wishing he hadn't bought one. That's because his has been in the dealership's service bay, for over two weeks, thanks to these recalls, on top of a broken camshaft. Impressive quality, toyota. Verry impressive!
wow.. you're an idiot... you're ignorance proves it as such..I have only drven American.. Jeeps and dodge trucks and i drove each past 180,000 miles with NO problems @ all... imports are trash.. driven by just the same
haha.. easy there killer.....euro imports are fine.. but jap garbage will never be worth a damn.. ever... unless follow the blind crowd that bases their opinions on lies given out by those with false agendas

toyota is good for comfort, & reliability but suck for "toughness" and are too wimpy for trucks. toyota has officially made their trucks wimpy. GO AMERICAN MADE VEHICLES!
Dodge knows how to make trucks...it is clear..first off this truck is bad ass..secondly they have a ton of power unlike the slow fords...thirdly dodge has the best diesels hands down and they haul ass too

I'm a "Ford Guy," but man.... that's one fantastic looking truck! Still, for $50,000 for the Laramie, I'd just as well go for the Ford King Ranch..... but that's just me.
i like all the trucks ..i have a 2008 chevy silveado ..which is great 1. chevy silverado 2.ford f 150 3. dodge ram.4.tacoma.5.tundra6. ford ranger......no nissians, dont like them or know much about them
why all of these trucks didn't use diesel engine? diesel engine give you better mileage without sacrificing torque..and as for its purpose, why we still need a good horsepower? if we want to go fast, wouldn't sedans are more appropriate ?
The only thing I like about the Dodge is the RAM Box. I would love to see something similiar to this on either the next model GM of Ford pickups. Also the RAM box should be availiable on more than one cab configuration....
Not a big fan of the ram but this is a very nice truck. I think thay did a very good job. The average truck rearly sees the maximum tow or payload capacity they are capable of....so rear coil springs meet the needs of most drivers today.
Dodge thought this out right. Anyone regularly towing five-digit numbers isn't buying a half-ton Tundra, F-150, or Silverado. In fact, 9100 lbs is perfectly acceptable.
A great choice with an excellent new interior (whye they say "Toyota-level quality" when the Tundra's interior isn't as nice I don't know). IMHO, a better geared 6-speed would be a nice addition, as well as a replacement for the base 3.7L. That engine can't match the numbers (or the refinement) of its competing choices.
yea, the f150 can tow more than all other trucks. It can tow 11,300lb with the 5.4l, the ram can tow 9100 with its hemi, the chevy can tow 10,400 with its 5.3l, the toyota tundra can tow 10,100 with its 5.7l. And the f150 gets the same fuel economy as the chevy.
out of all the trucks this would b mine i like the look the features and power.....also its the sporty-es .......and chrysler i think is the best and in the end be the best american automaker
dodge have horsepower but they can tow and payload is weak... they are fast though... so if your looking for a daily driver and dont need to tow this would be a good truck for you
This is skidoosnowmachine... I dont know why you wouldnt want a half ton for towing. A half ton works out great for hauling snowmobiles, fourwheelers, boats and campers and other random things. So if you do that Ford is better than dodge.
nice to see they are they are trying to lean away from leaf springs it also has a bunch of other cool stuff but i still think id rather have a silverado or a f150.
Id become a whore 4 this truck

This is skidoosnowmachine... I dont know why you wouldnt want a half ton for towing. A half ton works out great for hauling snowmobiles, fourwheelers, boats and campers and other random things. So if you do that Ford is better than dodge.
