  • The Biodome is the coolest level of all Daytona games.

  • @1D0N And sadly they took it away with the Power Edition upgrade. The Power Edition is superior in all ways EXCEPT for this :(

  • @madmyerstube I'm not familiar with the power edition. Never played it. How does it differ from BOTE?

  • @1D0N Gameplay tweaks, completely different first level, more voice (talking), cool combo track that combines the first three...

  • Little tip for improvement: try keeping both hands on the wheel when not shifting. You will find the car quite a bit easier to control.

  • dont mind me asking but, how much is it to buy a machine like this to keep at home if they sell it?

  • if you had 2 machines, 1 daytona usa 1 machine, and 6 dollars, would you show me extra ending?

  • my best position on an arcade machine is: 3rd with the hard level car MT, maybe I need more practise for 1st

  • Why you put your arcade outside?

  • @JerryTVong Ha! It was in my garage while getting it working... Not outside.

  • @madmyerstube Good driving on the begginer course there bud

  • If nascar really was done in a biodome I'd actually want to watch it.

  • @richardmaudsley77 I miss the biodome :( I upgraded to the Power Edition, which removes it!

  • @madmyerstube now you know what you need to undo...

Is it a GD-ROM or a motherboard swap? I'm surprised you didn't keep the old parts.

  • @richardmaudsley77 This Model 3 system uses ROM chips... switching to the Power Edition requires swapping about 40 chips. I still have the originals... just the process of switching them takes an hour or so! I'm looking for a cheap Model 3 rom board so I can just populate that and swap the boards.

  • @madmyerstube Whoops, my mistake. I had it confused with the dreamcast based machines like outrun 2. Still though, I'm surprised with that many roms they didn't just put the data on a hard disk or something.

  • @richardmaudsley77 FYI, OutRun 2 is Chihiro based which is nothing more than a souped up Xbox 1!

  • @madmyerstube It's weird that they decided to make an updated version of the game which actually makes one of the stages graphically weaker. I much prefer this version of the Beginners stage to the Power Edition one.

  • @MrThunderwing Everything about PE is better, except for the first course! I've read on the net that die hard Daytona 1 fans really didn't like the indoor course because it wasn't realistic. Sega thought that was lowering game revenue, so they "addressed" it in the PE. Yes, I wish you could select either track. But PE is better overall. Such are the tradeoffs.

  • @madmyerstube The thing I loved about Daytona (and I'm a Die Hard Daytona USA1 fan) is how over the top the courses are. Those people need to be told it's an arcade racer, not a simulation racer.

  • You're better than me at least. I can't get the feel for drifting in manual.

  • Man if I had a big house, and if I had one of these, Sega Super GT, Harley Davidson & LA Riders, Street Fighter Alpha 3, a MAME cabinet, and a lineup of pinballs. Boy, would I be the happiest guy in the world!

  • Man im getting excited, im about to pick up a 2-player version of this but i have no idea how im going to put this in my garage. Any tips on how you transport this type of machine into a uhaul? I wanted to only to get one but he told me that its has to be played w/ 2-players? (link)

  • @rcaido I haven't looked at the 2-player setup, but having that will be great! The 2-player unit is, I believe, just two 1-player units connected. The 1-player unit pretty much took up the entire back of a pickup truck... Keep in mind moving this thing is a beast. Check out my web site for pics of how I took mine apart to get it downstairs.

  • @madmyerstube Yeah im about to leave

& look at it right now. Guy is offering $1000

for both. Not sure if that's a good deal or not.

Was planning to get a laptop but i think this

is more of a necessity IMO. How many people

do you think i need to lift each one?

  • @rcaido $1000 for a 2 player in working condition is a good deal... You need at least 2 people to move the 1-player around, so I'd think you need at least 3 for the 2-player (if not four). Drop me an email using the address on my web site if I can assist with other info.

  • i dont put on downshift to 3 in the last turn ill take it fast only brake then gas

  • 3 in this and 4 in power edition, there is a extra course in power edition, in it all the tracks are joined

Power edition doesn't have this indoor dome track though, it's beginner track visually is much less appealing.

It's amazing in this track how the frame rate doesn't drop when it goes past them waterfalls, usually games frame

rates drop when there is a lot on the screens at the same time.

  • Howmany tracks ar there ? 3 or 4 ?

  • When your drifting and you hit the throttle, do your back tires start to slide out like in the original Daytona?

  • LOL. I heard someone talking at 3:09. "I heard you making the noise!"

  • I checked your site out, interesting stuff, i always thought the daytona 2 pcb was probably up the front of the cabinet next to the monitor not under the seat, learn something knew every day.

    Arcade pcb's are huge

Sega model 3 pcb's have 2 fans yeah!!!!

    Must be pretty powerful

  • Do you have a avi quality of this video available for download!!!

    I love this game

  • Hi Darremsb4. The original is an H264 file that is > 360MB. Drop me an email at my address listed on my website.

  • Is the game outside your home?

if it is, It's VERY Dangerous!

Why? Because someone can steal this from you...

  • :)

It was in my garage when I took the video. Now it's in my basement... check out my website if you are interested in seeing how it comes apart.

  • i used to play a game similar to this, nascar heat, with the daytona track, on what was called a little wing rig. The seat would swing left or right to quite a good degree, it would torque on out there in relation to the torque on the steering wheel. Best setup I ever drove, I would come away quite sweaty most times. lol

  • Yup. You can get the deluxe Daytona 2 with the seat that moves as you described. It uses compressed air to move it around. This one is the standard edition.

  • Good, view my videos of DaytonaUsa2 PowerEdition.

  • This is my most favorite game ever. GREAT footage, the camera really captures what the game looks like. Please make more Daytona USA 2 vids.

  • Thanks Eric. The HD really helps.
