  • didnt see how you made the beat.

  • tweaking knobs to make music = bliss

  • this is amazing! I just got the monotron and I had no idea what it was capable of until I saw this video. Good stuff!

  • this is the best video i have ever seen and i am buying one of these right now

  • that was ridiculous!

  • Класс!!!

  • Inspiring!

  • Fantastic!

  • this is bloody awsome, did you overdub to make the track?

  • sounds like a Robert Miles

  • awesome oldschool trance :3

  • Awesome!

This is an excellent video demonstrating the ability to actually play an instrument well. Good technique, good composition, a little technical know-how, and some obvious musical talent come together here with fantastic results.

I'm so tired of seeing YouTube "demos" with some dude pressing one key and throwing a switch or two. Its fun to see an instrument being well played.

    Nice job! Thanks!!

  • Awsome sounds!

  • 実際にいじってみてわかったこと これだけでここまでできるのは正直神。

  • 私もそう思います。モノトライブならまだしもモノトロンでここまでやられると・・・・・

  • hmmm its nice bit ill just stick to normal sizedkeyboarsds and synthsizers

  • Amazing talent

  • Are the drums monotron too? Or did you use a drum machine?

  • @vicachcoup

"All sounds are played with KORG monotron."

  • the fuck. we got 2011 we live in computer age and people ask how to record things.

  • OMG! Awesome!

  • Enter this in Korg monotron contest!

  • Was the kick drum sound recorded from the Monotron as well?

  • @youenjoy00myself i guess so ;) a simple kick isnt that hard to make. just make a picthed bass sound with the right envelope.. try taking a synth and making a short envelope for the pitch so it starts high and quickly pitches down ;) and a short attack and release for the volume.

  • @latheck2 Awesome! It sounds great.

  • WANT ONE! Wow Man, that BTW is an excellent song!

  • Amazing!

  • Exellent music Bro!

    You Rock man!

  • how did you record this

  • that's a sexy workstation.

  • fire use of such a fun little synth

  • すごいです!尊敬します

  • Awesome! thank you!

  • KOISHI RULES!

  • Thats what I call a POKET SHOW.

    Congratualations!

  • Holy fuck. the expectations I had were low. I salute you.

I can't even do this with a full sized and optioned synth.

Respect from TheLynxie has been achieved.

  • Infinitely variable. That means endless amusement! :D

Ordered one off of Korg.com today!

  • magnificent

  • 天才だ

  • where do you connect the monotron? do you need an amplifier, or something??

  • @ranXerox09 It has a speaker, headphone jack, and AUX IN/OUT's. Oh and it run's on Two AAA Batteries.

  • Fantastic!

  • looks like a lot of fuckin around for 3.5mins of space invaders

  • 1 extra tip, when your set up and recording, use another cable on the line in, leave the other end unplugged, now you can record the drum hits. just tweak til you get the sound you want

  • in order to record this, i had to use a mixer with MIC LINE IN to send a boosted signal to my pc, the battery power might be too low to send signal, even with w7 +30 dB. if you line in to a guitar PA just MIC IN to PC

  • If you translate the posters Japanese above it says that he made this song all just with a Korg Monotron but he did record it in a DAW and than mixed the different tracks he made. Nice work btw.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=GFym-vWIKSk

  • live show!!

  • how you record this? what software you use for this?..

  • That was AMAZINGLY GOOD!!!!

Now you need a team of people to play that live

  • My face the whoel time:

    :O

  • this is some serious tekno shit man. just a question. is this synthetiser able to make all the sound you made in this video or you used a looping SW?

  • @MrTheBigM yes it is! and only +/- € 50 atm

  • nice toy

  • Cool!!!

  • has it got a plugin? how is it called?

  • Was the Korg SOS used to layer the sounds?

  • Amazing!

  • Brilliant. I have one of these little suckers and they are so much fun! Another thing you can do is plug a regular keyboard into it and use it as an outboard signal processor.

  • Great performace. Silly device imho

  • I'm in love with the melody, It sounds unbeleiveably like a theremin or ondes martenot

  • THIS IS AMAZING

  • how can you record?

  • @ClubTrance88 the cable goes to your computer and you need to record every set individually then you mix all the tracks with a audio edit program. I use cool edit pro as my multi-track session recorder

  • @alfiegunner thank's bro

  • @ClubTrance88 There is a direct output so you can plug it directly on an input on a PC and then synch the video with the sounds recorded.

  • @ClubTrance88 By plugging the headphone jack into anything that can record sound that comes from a wire plugged into a headphone jack.

  • @ClubTrance88 Probably used the line out of the Monotron and plugged it into a recording system (maybe an audio interface and computer, or something to that affect).

  • @MrTristanPlaysGuitar Actually he doesn't even need to do that, MovieMaker will do that for you, he just has to arrange it.

  • This is really really good!

Did u record to ur pc direct or use a looper/layered recorder with effects THEN into a pc?

  • @jackyd2001 I am not the creator but I do have one of these devices and the only way he could've done this would've been either multi-tracking or looping and playing over the loop. The Monotron does not have any internal recording mechanism. xD

  • @didleybopp

    thanks.

  • Great!!!

  • I'm getting one soon :)

  • U R Artist :)

  • Very Well donbe man:)

  • awesome

  • awesome

  • Sold.

  • Dope !

  • Someone inform me about the stylus!

  • @justinlovespastry u can use just a normal Ds stylus.

  • Holy shit it's still beautiful

  • Fantastic!

  • You´re KREISI!!! :)

  • awesome !!!!

  • Killer!!

  • This really sound like something that would be on the Hanna soundtrack!

  • Not really, you plugged it into an amp, so technically the delay wasn't played by a korg monotron lol

  • Amazing... Having never used a synthesizer before, do you think it'd be possible for me to create some similar tracks? (I play electric guitar)

  • made in japan.

  • i so want one of these

  • I've just gotta get me one of these!

  • Impressiva as hell...must buy one! :-)

  • its a posh stylophone, wheres Rolf harris?

  • Crazy skills! That's pro persistence and attention to detail!

Sure as hell makes me wanna buy 1...

  • やっぱりkoishistyleさんは天才ですよ

  • I never git bored watching this vid. Genius!!

  • amazing!

  • this was amazing, very well done. do you have a technique for getting every video in sync with the audio?

  • There were 11 deaf people watching this vid.

  • GREAT VIDEO!

Idk why there's even a single dislike!

Highly entertaining production, keep it up mate.

  • just bought one! amazing!

  • keygen music lol

  • This is a Haken Continuum alike but a lot more affordable and less flexible lol. But because the continuum is incredibly expensive i'll probably buy vthis lol.

  • Hey do u no what kind of cable is connect to the monotron?

  • @nightmmare123 3.5mm jack

  • @nightmmare123 i use just a regular analogue 3.5mm cable

  • Of course, Korg's got the greatest filters in the world. If you, however, don't want to carry the Monotron around, there are some alternatives, such as iPhone apps. I especially like Noise Boxx, which offers almost the same options as the Monotron!

  • I got a Monotron Yesterday :D YOU GOTTA GET ONE! :D

  • 11 people haven't monotron :P

  • This is really really good! Did u record to ur pc direct or use a looper/layered recorder with effects THEN into a pc?

  • Obnoxious

  • lame and gay

  • how??? I cannot get those clean sounds lol! grrr

  • @HeavensFugitiveRBG try lowering the peak/resonance. Distorted sound mostly comes from filter overdrive.

  • @AgentOfKaoss I'm just a noob. This is my first synth ever!~ Any suggestions? Other than toying around making all kind of bad noises lol and learning the good ones

  • I'm just a noob. This is my first synth ever!~ Any suggestions? Other than toying around making all kind of bad noises lol and learning the good ones

  • how???

  • hey does anyone know any other crazy handheld instruments like this besides a stylophone?

  • Deep respect. I haven't done this with my monotron! Only some freaking and stuff. Props!

  • This is: how to kill music!

  • awesome

  • it's amazing that you done this only with monotron,

    really a great work!!!

  • the best song with monotron.

  • Nice-

  • Impressive. Watched it 5 times now.

  • A friend of mine just got one of those, and I looked up some of the shit people can do with it, but this is just amazing!

  • awesome man im gonna get one for sure.

  • Mine should be showing up any day now! How do you play different octave ranges on this? Is it with the Pitch knob? If this only has one oscillator, then I guess the Pitch knob would control octave range...

  • Wow, I'm really delighted someone is composing whole tracks on monotron. The overdubbing must be tedious! Are you running it through any effects at all? I swear I hear some reverb in spots, which the monotron can't do.

  • very very nice!!!! this really tells a lot!!!

  • I'd love Korg to double or add wooden sides, metal casing, power-socket and midify it... even if it would mean they'd have to triple the price. This is cute, but too flimsy.

  • I'd love Korg to double or triple the price so they can add wooden sides, power-socket and midify it.

  • I have the monotron how do I record with it ?what programs do you use

  • @DjDvDndMcSuperiorair

if you get 3mm cabble you can plug one end into the monotron and the other into your mic slot on your computer. then for basic recording you can get something like audacity which is some software with some pretty simple recording functions. its not the best but its free!

  • ha ha ha, that absolutly fking rocks! want one!

  • This kind of people are the ones that make people buy instruments. If this guy works for korg, it is fine, but if not, he should be paid for this performance. Really amazing.

  • this is so epic , its like so good i want one of those synth boxes

  • Amazing perform

  • shit just got real at 1:40

  • Good mixing and video edits!

  • ok, this thing is worth the price alone just for the fretless, R&B synth bass & the ms-20 filter. *orders*

  • Korg..

Could you make a Monotron iApp?????

this would be an awesome app......

  • 9 people don't have fingers.

  • @spl33nsoft

    How they press unlike button?

  • @ImReadingEyes I would rather not know what appendage they used.

  • the music is everything ! )

  • what type of output cable do u have there? i have a korg and would like to connect to my midi machine or possibly my PC to record! Please tell me what cable that is

  • @Jedilost1

It's just a regular 1/8-inch cable, the same type you would use to connect speakers to a PC.

  • sweet

  • Simply amazing, amazingly simple. We are the Korg. We do whatever the hell we damn well please. And it all sounds AMAZING when used properly. This is by far the best example I have heard. It is a testamen to what people with genuine inspiration and knowledge can do with something as simple as an oacilator, a filter and the standard synth sound. Perfectoin ensues.

  • phukin SWEET

  • I don't believe that kick drum.

  • eargasm wwwoooooooeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Haha very good! This should be the advertisement for the monotron! :)

  • where are the drums from?

  • @MykailoO ->cutoff mode, almost full cutoff, play with the resonance and set the lfo a little left from the middle.

Anyway, this is a bit of a cheat because he used extra delay ;) Connected with a simple analog delay generator this thing is pretty fun! :)

  • great idea well executed, but surely you didn't get that kick from the monotron?! i mean, i hope you did as i'm looking to buy one of these! you should have sold this to korg.

  • @8bitmeta I'm pretty sure he did. Most likely boosted it with a bit of eq and reverb, but this little thing is capable of doof!

  • ★★★★★

  • YMOっぽい!すごい!

  • Tiny analogue phatness!

  • Um ok, but does plugging a keyboard in meen that it replaces the ribbon keyboard on the monotron or does it just meen that you can use the monotron to play with the sounds already on your keyboard? And what are the necessary cables that i will need to do this?

  • great i bought my monotron testerday!!

  • Found high--shit's awesome!

  • crikey.

  • This looks pretty awesome! only one question: Can you connect it to a keyboard and use the keys off the keyboard instead of just the ribbon keyboard on the synth? because i cant imagine u can play much on such a small ribbon..... hit back! x

  • @klikom8 you can plug it into a keyboard, guitar, recording device, drum machine, whatever you feel will sound cool

  • @MusicBySav I think he meant midi control over it...that's something you can't do without heavy mods, @klikom8 you need to play the ribbon or mod it for Pitch input via CV (CV was around long before midi as the standard way of controlling synths).

  • awesome
