What I fail to understand is that most of our country is against our current war, but barely anyone protests the pointless deaths of soldiers. I live in the DC area, I see protests all the time. Most of them are about social issues that should be handled at the state level, such as abortion. People are relying too much on politicians and not enough on themselves.

If the masses saw a daily saughter there'd be more action. Warfare's become more efficient. It's good less people are dying, but it's the mass deaths that make people angry enough to attack the system. It's a terrible irony. I guess the best that can be done is to try to spread the message at all costs.
