What do you use for a backing when you cut out the stencil? I'm using a cutting board and I find it almost impossible to make a curve with the exacto knife. You made what looks to be a perfect circle, so you must know something I don't?

It all depends on the brand. I haven't found one yet that goes red. And as far as parchment paper goes, I don't think it would. But, if you try it, remember that it might mess up your iron if both sides are waxy.

@gascanlincoln I just attempted it with parchment paper, and I would not recommend using it unless you really have to. It would not stick to the shirt when ironing I ended up using a few pins to keep it on the shirt. I'll let you know how it looks after I finish washing it.

@Silence258 The Jerzee Black and Navy Blue T-shirts turn red after 2 bleach applications and then with more, light brown. If you use a jerzee red T-shirt, the bleach turns it a lighter red. On a side note, Jerzee forest green t's turn golden yellow and the purple t's turn light purple.

@HAZRDO82 Well, the amount of bleach and water in the spray bottle, and how ever long you keep the bleach soaked into the shirt. The bleach/water mix will control the colour of it (ranging from yellow to red). A mix of 60 bleach and 40 water will give a darker orange than a 40 bleach and 60 water, which will be lighter in colour. The time the bleach is left in there will control how dark or light it is. The longer you leave it in, the darker. The shorter you leave it in, the brighter.

why won't wax paper work? will parchment paper work? I have never heard of freezer paper before nor can I find it any where locally. what else can I make a reusable stencil out of?

Wax paper wont work because it will stick to the iron AND the shirt. If you use fabric adhesive spray you could use wax paper, but most people use mylar for the adv dive spray. You can get mylar at Walmart. Just ask for emergency blankets, apparently they're the same thing.

Yes! Apparently the black Hanes shirts in the 4-packs bleach orange. Other brands bleach different colors, though. I've seen some black shirts bleach yellow.
