Are you still with May? You said they wouldn't allow you to take a camera or laptop to orientation. Was that just for the 2 days of videos and such or was that with the month or so of company trainer out on the road too? When did you first start to take those 2 things with you?
@smuthwaters well there is so much to learn in those first days you don't really have time to make any videos anyway. When you get on with your trainer you wanna travel light. Yes I still contract with May as an owner operator. I Started to carry my equipment when I got my First company truck. I had a lot of problems with my old video equipment as you can see in this video. I have upgrade since then. Good Luck to you!
@lostnomoor so you're making more money net now BC you're an owner operator? U commuted 2 school every day rt? If U didn't, what, in detailed list, did U take 2D school, then a detailed list of what U took with U when with your trainer on the road and then what U have now as an owner-operator. A progressive list would be a cool thing for a video. I know you did one before for the training OTR, but it was sort of a brief list. From which cleaning supplies & maintenance 2 suggested items.
@lostnomoor I know you have to have your CDL and registration for the truck and trailer? HOS, BOL's, atlas and/or GPS, flash light, tire bat, tire guage(even w/TPMS), work gloves, insulated work gloves, golashes(rain boots), PT, TP, truck towels, locks for air release buttons and 5th and sliding tandem and cargo doors, bulbs, anything else? manuals, books, etc.? How much usually are the laundry services at the truck stop and how many weeks did you go without doing laundry when with your trainer?
exactly! At the moment I'm working for a non profit company working with the mentally and physically disabled. I've been working here for about three years now and it's not that I'm tired of it, I love the guys I work with and enjoy my job, however.. for the past three years I've barely been able to make ends meet. Think if I became a driver, I could save a little by not getting a house, not having a car, and keeping myself single lol.. A single life is a good life I always say.. Take care bud.
I'm having a hard time following your videos.. BTW, I would never get my own truck unless you have no other bills to pay.. Otherwise it'll be tough. Good luck with that though! If you can, send me your lateist video.. radioman_135@yahoo.com
@radioman135 That's funny cause I can't follow them either. If you go to my channel I think you might find them. sorry i haven't been keeping up to well with my videos, You are right it's tough out there. You have to watch your money, and something always comes up!
Hey, glad u posted I was wondering what happened to u. I followed u when Myself was just getting into it, Yeah I still drive too, but got a dedicated so I be home everynite but I did do the all 48 states for about a 9 months, but anyway glad to hear from u and that everything worked out good, god bless and be safe out there, RC

It's great to hear from you...subed you a while back and didn't know what happened and it's great to get a vid from you after all this time...looking good, stay safe and keep the rubber humming and I'll see you out there bro.
Holy Cow C.J.! Haven't seen you in forever! This is Tex (texolot). I shut down that channel 10 months ago... Good to see things are working out... Stay in touch brother!!!
hey man, seriously think long and hard about becoming an owner operator. The way the economy is at the present time it's really not a good idea. I am to young to drive a tractor trailer but 4 people in my family used to be owner operators, and me being fascinated with trucks I always stay in touch with them. They all say that most of the time its better for a person just to drive for a company with there own equipment. Fuel, oil, tires and insurance is just to darn much unfortunately. Say Safe!
