I love the idea of using 3D animation to present the design or layout of a new city. However, cities are inherently organic places. I am uncertain they can be divided so neatly into different districts.
This is idiotic. Could someone please teach these guys about mixing uses? This looks like an urban model from the 60's! "Government District," "Hotel District." Please read some new urbanist literature!
It's an interesting video to see, coming from the article I just read which links to it. The square plots here for residential, hotel and commercial districts and so on do remind me a little bit of SimCity's simplicity, though. I've no experience to stand on, but I'd only hope that such a layout could avoid stagnating the city's culture. On the positive side, the sectioned sites lend this idea very well to construction trials in Second Life.
I think "that awful music" can be best explained by the orientalist tendencies of the person who made the video. "New town" concept and the seperation of the functions in the city is quite old-fashioned and kills the urban life.
tam bi metropol şehri animasyonu türkiyeni bu ve buna benzer şehirleri olması için 60-70 yılın gecmesilazım... haaaaa.... ne belli belkide 100 senenin gec mesi lazım .... yinede buna da şükürler olsun...?
Anladigim kadariyla bunlar İStanbul'u Karadenize tasimaya kalkismislar. Hangi akla hizmet? Bu ülkenin sehir plancilari ve mimarlarini hice sayip amerika ve avrupanin her dedigini bir halt sanip yapmaya kalkarlarsa kimbilir daha nelerle karsilasacagiz???

The credits don't include the planners and urban designers. By the look of it, there weren't any.

Was just about to post the same thing myself. Have these people learned nothing from successful cities built over time with mixed zoning?

Why the hell would it take so long to render this? Looks like someone simply toying around with any game level editor.
