  • the ending and lead into Rosetta stoned is honestly my favorite part, though I love the song all together it's really a mood setter. The first time I had some people listen to this song and then Rosetta stoned always gives them and myself chills down our spines

  • the 4 dislikes ,thumbs down on this masterpiece of composition ?? !! well, these put downs were from soulless, empty mundane minds who cannot feel..tool opens up my 3rd eye and higher frequencies to channel thru me, my spiritually, striving and struggling consciousness needs all the help it can muster,i will die with a tool cd's in my pockets.. ..to bad you are missing the whole magic here..

  • this song is so amazing it go Through my soul and give me chest pain...

  • I want this song on the end of the world:)

  • this one reminds me of iraq, coming home from patrol as the orange sun is coming up, in a daze not completley awake and not yet asleep either, certainly brings back some memories

  • @battlemonkey505 I can imagine that dude

  • DMT is the trip you take the moment after your final breath, why spoil that of all surprises?

  • first time i heard this i had a case of pre cum and then rosetta stoned came on.. :)

  • "His vitals are stable" That suggest he is not high. He's lost himself, he can't find the keys to what he wants, the meaning of life.

  • I still don't rule out "night terror". There are repeated comments on it NOT being LSD "see the dead ain't touring" "it seemed so real, like I woke up in wonderland, all sort of terrifying", "Strapped down to my bed, feet cold, eyes red, can't REMEMBER what they said".

These are all symptoms of someone that had went through sleep paralysis when waking up from a night terror that scared the shit out of them. Also, E.T. encounters are very common in people who experience night terrors.

  • @777ROCKLOVER "The dead ain't touring' is a reference to The Grateful Dead, a band VERY well known for taking DMT. They also refernce the same band many other times in Rosetta Stoned "Fuck me, it's gotta be, the Deadhead chemistry" - Followers of Greatful Dead have been called Deadheads sense the sixties, and are well known for... you guess it DMT. Roestta Stones also mentions DMT directly in the very first line. Both are about combining drugs WITH DMT, because of how it changes your trip.

  • it dosent change the trip, it absolutly takes it over. please god all you kiddies out there never try this solo. the experience is such a personal, soul touching, consuming and absolutly overwhelming one. you wont come close to "controlling" the effects. if youre smart youll stay seated in remain in constant "witness" mode. when youre already tripping and then you smoke dmt, the dmt dosent last for just 10 minutes, it will be hours. when you come off it, youre still trippin. be smart, be safe.

  • @Prymer55 Control? DMT? If you think that can be done, you do NOT need to be taking it in the first place. DMT is very scary and powerful, and you don't fuck with it, especially not when combined with other drugs(especially acid). It's a very strange drug that changes drastically based on what you combined it with. Regular every day recreational users should stay away from DMT altogether, or at least keep it straight and in small amounts. Combining it with pot usually calms it down a bit though.

  • @KlydeShal thats exactly what i said, its NOT something you can control. it is however something worth experiencing. its not an evil drug as youre making it out to be. it its not something you should try as youre first psychedlic experirnce either. i dont recommend using it with weed at all because it takes away from the trip. combining it with other substances should only be for those truly experienced in this lifestyle. if youre prepared for it, it is amazing.

  • @Prymer55 It didn't mean to make it sound evil, but the thing is all psychedelics need to be feared. Experiencing DMT can be a life changing beautiful experience, so it is by no means evil. If it takes a bad turn though, you are completely at it's mercy, and this can be very scary.

If you can't handle the full effect, or want to be sure of what you are getting into before trying it full power, combing it with weed can be a good option, it takes a lot of the edge off. IF that is what you want.

  • @KlydeShal youre absolutly right, i cant argue with you. these things could bring down the strongest of men for sure. the great equalizer you know? i cant blame your stance at all bro. you have to understand the consequences to reap the benefits right? take care man, be safe all

  • @KlydeShal Let man fear that which is himself

  • @KlydeShal Not feared, used cautiously.

  • @777ROCKLOVER Well, I appreciate you letting me know this stuff, and while I can't argue with facts that you gave, I am just saying that there are references to how it is like DMT, but he says "see the dead aint touring" which would mean he knows he did not take DMT, but that it's just like it. This is what makes me think it's possible that it's a night terror, which is where one wakes up with DMT still giving them a trip. Like I said, I can't say you are wrong though.

  • I found this tune in the Breaching Area 51 video. For those who have seen that video, remember those eccentric grandmothers???

  • @Wellch yeah, what couldve happen to them? :/

  • playing that song while in deep though...

  • Truly amazing peace of music!!!! Esspecialy when on some high grade pure MDMA Crystals en some good clean homebrewd GHB!! Take my advice and put this high on your to-do list when in a certain frame of mind!! Enjoy!!!

  • ....Alrighty then...

  • @Thuke11 ... me too

  • Best intro to a song ever.

    Save for Parabol.

  • Lost Keys + Rosetta Stoned = Masterpiece

  • kinda funny all these comments r about listening to this song while taking (anykindof) funny stuff.

f*ck me, this song f*cks my brain even if iam not high!

  • (part 6 Maynard interview) He claimed the marks and the strange symbols where left there by the strange beings/aliens. And that is was fysical proof of he horrific experientens he was forced to experience when visiting there demention. Wied but true huh? Makes you never wanne try a DMT/LSD combination...

  • (part 5 Maynard interview) the and strange symbols and writings in some strange higher intelligent non consevable language from . The docter said it seemed to resemble some weird cirigical activaty was performed and his body not known to highly technoliogal western seince. " After carefull study by Jeff sandoz and a team of handpicked experts of the University of Louisiana of the symbols showed surgical techniques done in milisecond what would take normal sience hours to perform"

  • (part 4 Maynard James Keenan interview) he was given medication accourdinly for Hallucinogen persisting perception disorder in an attempt to stabilze him and to supress the persisting hallucinations and pschychosis and send home. But not before asking him if he ever came in contact with radio active sources because his testicals where exposed to exeptional high evels of radiation and told the damage done to his reproducion system was inrevesable and where he got the pucture marks

  • (part 3 Maynard James Keenan interview) the beings were so intriged by his human soul that they diseded to keep the rational parts of his soul so they could insert it to the alien/human hibrid. So when after 3 days when he was still suffering from the frighting hallucinations and pschychosis he was hospitalized in an attempt to treat him for it. In the process that followed he was diagnosed with an extrem uncurable version of HPPD (Hallucinogen persisting perception disorder)

  • (part 2 Maynard James Keenan interview) from another time / space and dimension who claimed to study mankind who viseted the pscycadlic realm. They conducted horrfic painfull experiments with him where he also was violated and raped by the beings to create the ultimate alien/humand-kind beings which would enable them to visit Human realm of matrialism and ultimate reality. He claimed they extracted his soul for study and that disided to keep certain parts of hise soule because they were so

  • This sounds like audio an orgasm. So pschycadelic my frend... I wouldnt advice to listen to this on LSD-25 though. Or maybe you should. I dont know , i must try and see what will happen when i get some ACID one of these days. Its kind of hard to get in the netherlands ,

  • Alex Grey is whole other level

  • this song gets me in a pretty emotional state. I'm 13 im not like emo or anything but like my bus ride home i'll listen tot his ignoring everyone trying to talk to me.

  • I think even Aphex Twin would like this

  • OMG!!! if you play Rossetta Stoned after this song it sincs up! Rossetta Stoned is this guy's story!!!!

  • @Icvis Probably why they're in that order on the CD

  • @Icvis (part 1)I know that song. Many people have asked Maynard James Keenan ( the lead vocalist) what the song is supposed to be about . In an interview for MTV he said it was based on close friend and long-time roady of Tool (the band) He said his friend/roadie smoked DMT ín combination with some high grade LSD given to him by some hard-core Tool fan. In the pschycadelic experence that followed he had an intenst frightning experience where he was taken by Alien beings.

  • Tool promises to deliver goosebumps up and down your spiinnneee...

    Great vid too!

  • *best lol oops

  • I frikkin love this song! It's an incredible piece of music. Tool are the vest

  • why are u guys arguing if its dmt or lsd why cant it be both? people do dmt while coming up on lsd all the time

  • @mtwgpm thanks, now i have to try it. see what you've started.

  • when i listen to this song i dont think all the time of drugs and having a bad trip i look at life differently and all my cares just melt away.. i can see through the music that we are part of something much bigger than ourselves and everything is everything

any stresses in my life just fade into nothingness and i realise that there is more to life than caring about every insignificant thing that doesn't even matter in the end because there is no end just the here and now

  • What if most of the time we blow all the negative things away?

    i love this song

  • Comment removed

  • Why is this song so damn short? I could listen to this for hours.

  • This is what will play when you look into the eyes of your maker

  • this..... this makes my ears orgasm every time i hear it :D

  • Goosebumps everytime, love it

  • blame hoffman? lol thank albert hoffman

    lsd all the way

  • FFFFUCK

  • i feel like i dont need anything else in the world after listening to this song... Tool sets the benchmark for this type of music

  • LSD = AREA 51 = LOST KEYS

  • @AZ09astrophysicist THE GREYS = THE UKRAINE > ALL THOSE THINGS.

  • @AZ09astrophysicist IT'S DMT NOT LSD YOU UMLAUT!

  • @MrWubbins STFU UFB!

  • @AZ09astrophysicist Thou enraged?

  • @MrWubbins STFU u SHAKESPEAREAN UMLAUT

  • you cant listen to this song alone, you have to end it wit listening to rosetta stoned...same goes for rosetta stoned, you have to start that song with this...they go wonderful together

  • lol i change my name it sounds like something just happen like a house burned down and people out side crying and people watching and idk but its really scary then it sounds like someone just got odupted by a alien

  • crank this one up loud, turn off the lights, close your eyes, and meditate.....

  • it sounds scary in the end

  • @shelly274 no it just goes totally awesome and crazy

  • This is fucking great stuff! I used to have a friend who was on heroin and he later died of a hart failure do to heroin , valium and hepatits . He never looked like a junkie and was a sweet guy. However he was really into Tool and i never had much interest in them but its only since a while i really started to dig these guys and see how unique they are. This is good on GHB but i really want to listen to it on LSD or Magic Mushrooms

  • this song makes everything ok. like nothing matters. its so beautiful

  • @chrisslipknt444 i feel the exact same way :)

  • make me think about space and if the human race is alone

  • Listening to this song on the train back home when it was storming outside produced the biggest emotional feeling in me in over a year. That says a lot about me, but even more about the brilliance of Tool.

My first comment ever btw ;)

  • @Eelcov

    good way to begin :D

  • @Eelcov if you were on drugs it would have been better ;)

  • @RAKETHELEGEND word that bro

  • @Eelcov how dare you to be so selfish and not take video of your ride for all to view to this song. >:(

  • @Eelcov how dare you to be so selfish and not take video of your ride for all to view to this song. >:(

  • this song fades in to "rossetta stoned"

  • this song makes me think of be in the woods alone, and lost, but not lost physically but mentally. mentally exhausted and utterly broken down, to the point you just want to drop to your knees and scream, but when you scream nothing comes out. then you realize you are utterly alone in the world and no one can help you at the moment.

  • if i only i heard this song years ago :(

  • the art work is awsome and seems outerworldly

  • @THEAREA51NICK Thank Adam Jones( the guitarist)

  • isnt this the intro to rosetta stoned?

  • The lost keys, gonna be brought back pretty soon.

  • Where did you get the artwork.. it is unbelievably trippy but sooo good at the same time it really relaxes you and makes you look at life differently

  • what a masterpiece.. it really puts things into perspective. life is only worth the memory of our existence.

Its as if time stands still for 3:45 when you listen to this

  • this song is about a bad trip....I've been there....it sounds just like this song....lol

  • the last part of the course goes, "The blotter got right on top of me, got me seeing E motherfuckin' T."

Blotter paper is what LSD comes on.

  • there's something about this song that just breaks you down into the most simple form of life. it really just shows you who you are.

it really sounds like a plea for everyone to understand. the phenomena is tired of being hidden and it's time for birth.

and when you play this on guitar when you're feeling a little, "up in the air"...

you just start spinning and lifting up

  • DMT.

  • Comment removed

  • dymethyltryptamine

  • This song and rosetta stoned is aabout a guy who was tripping on DMT outside of area 51 when "E.T" showed up to nominate him to be the chosen one and tell everyone, all the facts lead toward DMT because one, Dr. hoffmann was the first doctor to use DMT on his patients and thats wut this story is about

  • Rosetta stoned is about LSD people, not DMT.

  • @scdlbrdr In the beginning of the song he states that he is tripping on DMT. Kinda makes it seem like, hes talking about DMT.

  • @peenzert

The interesting thing about the 2 songs is you can't really tell if he was meant to actually have Alien contact or if he just tripped it. Either way no one believes him because he was so messed up on DMT.

  • @Basssurge yeah its happened to me beore....for some reason the aliens only contact me while I'm high on high power acid.

  • @jaketheraper because you are using a larger majority of your brain. The mind is a powerful Tool. it is a sixth sense.

  • @jaketheraper yeah, me too! and why in the hell are these aliens gay and have to probe my asshole? wats up with that? that shit aint cool! damn aliens!!

  • I played this at the peak of my acid trip and began tripping at least 5 times harder. I can't even put into words what TOOL does to me. There is certainly a reason they are my favorite band....and here is a good example of it.

  • tool is amazing when im "" sober. burn one and jus chill an listen. god their music is amazing. so much meaning that's relevant to their songs. their is no other band that remotely compares to tool, or Maynard for that matter

  • Hey guys , I have 4 letters and 1 word to describe this:

    TOOL and Lacrymology.

  • That first breath is sooooo creepy.

  • why is it that tool and everybody related to tool is fucking amazing?

  • @BlazinBritnii One week has passed since I've last talked to you Britnii. One week since you last replied. Coincidentally, it's also been one week since the last time I have so viciously violated your inbox ... via youtube no less. Can you not see where you're going wrong here? Try punching yourself in the face until it quits hurting.

  • @jbarnes8 Uhmm, I believe you have every right to what you just said to BitchinBritnii, but can I ask why?? An old man gets bored from time to time.. a story might help.

  • @Germobb Because it's kind of rude not to respond to e-mails :)

A young man gets bored from time to time as well - so why not use my spare time to enlighten the less virtuous youtube users with a little humility? I would love to be humbled myself. If I had a little humility I would be perfect.

Plus, I'm a pompous narcissitic asshole just below the surface. Thank Al Gore for the internet otherwise I could never truly be myself without adverse reprecussions.

  • you people are acting like idiots. this is not what tools music is all about. get over youselves. we will come to find, we are all one mind

  • @BlazinBritnii I guess. I never really felt bad about anything to begin with.

I'm sorry that I am keeping you from enjoying music. I had no idea I had so much control over your life - thoughts - feeelings.

..But that's not how it happened. You butted your nose in, called me a jackass, I insulted you, you groveled, I insulted you again... I ask you, what keeps you from not replying? Is it pride? It is isn't it?...or am I truly just so destructive to your thoughts you can't enjoy the music?

  • @BlazinBritnii I apologize as well. I didn't realize you had any intelligence or social skills to insult. Face it: you got pwn'd.

  • Tool's music replaces all types of psychedelics lol

i can't explain in words what i feel listening to this

  • @BlazinBritnii Wow.... the intelligence of some people astounds and amazes me. - or lackthereof rather. Do you honestly think I was serious? Are you so socially inadequate that you are unable to sense such blatant mockery?

  • Many of you may not believe this but one day in my bands studio i had got done jammin by myself before i left to meet my other members at a show... i was wore out and put this in. i laid my head down.. half way thru the song the back of my computer chair started shaking violently and I kid you not I wasnt stoned... Later that night my band played in Kent Ohio and all of our pictures from people that night were filled with orbs. I was uncontrollably depressed the whole night..Yes Unexplainable

  • sounds like pam from the office....

  • when i listen i feel energy around me its scary

  • makes me feel wierd

  • sunkissed sudafed

  • This Song+Closed Eyes or Alez Grey's pics= HEAVEN

  • i dunno if this is true or not

but i heard rite when people are about to die they hear a song like this in there head

or when u heard it b4 the minute u die this is the last thing u hear in ur head

  • @seanmelia123 of course it's true jackass

  • i remains ya of just weird freakin unnatural stuff

makes ya think wah ya remains ya of it when u listen to it

  • Reminds me of an experence in a dream. Ive had alot of dreams wear i woke up right before i died untill i started lucid dreaming. Reminds me of the dream wear i first experenced death and did not wake up from it i let it complelty consume me.

  • Blame Hofmann

  • It's so mysterious, yet beautifull, and makes me think of other beings out there

  • Not a tool fan (yet) first time hearing as ive heard good things about them.Normally into electronic psychedelic/ambient/idm, I think this is really amazing i love it.

  • Not psychedelic.. Sorry :/

  • @BruisedEyeSockets Not psychedelic? Alex Grey's art is influenced by DMT! A very potent Hallucinogen. Google it and and do some research.

  • The song. The artwork is very psychedelic.

  • im gonna use this as the intro to my zombie movie

  • one of the most beautiful songs i´ve ever heard in my life

so simple and otherwise so enormous

well, reminds me of lucky, funny and sad times at once

  • Feels like I'm in space and no Im not high.

  • Tool has an interesting way to make you feel things and most of them are either mysterious or just down right creepy.

  • @ObligatedHornet yes and then tool makes you think until onr day youll be thinking and pass out from thinking too hard i had a trip and saw all tool artwork but iy was my own art in certain way and then i woke up and i felt like time had left me behind for awhile scary shit but it made me apreciate too l so much more'

  • GO AREA 51!!!

  • this songs about tripping so hard someone drops you off at the hospital or just wander off and end up at a hospital.

  • wow, what a trip... I love tool!

C'est pour ça que j'aime tool!

  • This song obviously has something to do with albert hoffman the man responsible for lsd (blame hoffman) for this Experience perhaps the one explained in rosseta stoned but seems more likely to be a dmt trip than lsd But who knows AWesome song!!!!!

  • I'm not much of a tool fan, but there's something so inexplicably great about this song. It sounds beautiful but eerie. Even though I don't really like tool, this is at least one of my favorite songs.

  • @TheZombieJC Same here dude, Tool are a pile of shit but this song is awesome, probably because it is not a song with his annoying voice, just a nice trippy tune. It doesn't matter who made the song though, anyone could have made it and I would like it.

Great for a spliff and staring at the night sky!

  • @bovinemarauder i am going to cut your throat and pull your ribcage out through it. then i am going to shove them in your fucking smelly ass. yes ill kill for this band. id kill babies. fuck you bovine

  • @vdopower66 Hahaha dry your eyes! They do a few good instrumentals but the singer is a whiney cunt. Kyuss my friend, now that is a band you should be listening to. May subdue that malicious intent, I am going to roll a joint and make sure you smoke it through your lungs, then I am going to smoke a smelly spliff too, yes I smoke for this band. Peace vdopower

  • @bovinemarauder ok you seem kind of cool. perhaps i wont kill you. you did blaspheme something awful though. ill check that band kyuss out now.

  • @vdopower66 Hahah wow I was expecting a barrage of abuse! You seem like a sound man yourself, you have reason.

A few of my buds listen to Tool alot. It just ain't my style, I am more of a Kyuss, Fu Manchu, Monster Magnet sorta guy.

I just love ripping on them haha.

definitely give Kyuss a whirl! Very underrated band. They created the stoner rock genre.

The Kyuss bassist Scott Reeder came on stage with Tool once and did Demon Cleaner (Kyuss tune).

    Peace

  • @TheZombieJC The fact that you don't like "]["[[]][[]][]_ completely baffles me because tool is like my religion and it took me a while to find this song so I don't believe you because every tool song is so entrancing and amazing

  • @TheZombieJC I think you like tool more than you let on ;p

  • @TheZombieJC wtf is wrong with u?how can u "not liek tool" fukin fagg

  • @skudstorm44 Because of people like you .

  • Not only does this song make me shiver, but the video with all those eyes... terrified me! Now I feel like someone's watching me...

  • This entire song makes me think of a man, with blurred vision, walking to the hospital on a cold night. Sweating profusely, with puddles of sweat dripping off of his body, splashing the ground around him, wherever he goes.

  • it's as if you scooped that image right out of my brain and put it into words my friend.

  • @rohgenextfan

    I'm sweating, and breathing

    and staring and thinking

    and sinking deeper.

    It's almost like I'm swimming.

  • @rohgenextfan wow.. nice thinking lol

  • fuck up!.. everyone

    nice video gondt

  • my god. nobody has never done a beautiful and divine music like this, in the history of this fuckin world.

  • yes they have.

  • Albert Hoffman- my personal hero.

  • right back at you, nice grammar you selfless fucking idiot. Way to go pothead.

  • @careydouble22 pothead isnt a good insult just to let you know.

  • potheads take pride in their smokin habits lmaooo

  • shut up. faggot. haha hows my grammar? oh its bad? cuz BLOW IT OUT UR ASS bitch ass cunt lickin fuck tart of an excuse for a piece of shit stone. thats right bitch. so sumthin oh oh oh u cant...(drum roll please)....CUZ ITS FUCKING YOUTUBE U FUCK.
