Hello Robert, me again. I'm surprised to hear you've been to Tewkesbury. I actually live there and it's shocking to still see caravans outside peoples homes. The drains flooded 80% of our road and it came very close to our house.
The anniversary is approaching so we're planning a street party.
I remember the day very well, I woke up to see a huge helicopter lifting a pregnant woman from the house opposite ours. Unfortunately the baby died.
We are lucky, we live about 2 minutes from a river but it hasn't flooded as far as us ever(touch wood).
What people forget is that the sewers being under the road ,overflow and the water in the street may not just be cold and muddy, but also full of effluent.
I live Blackburn Lancashire and my brothers building a boat as I wright this and no he isnt called Noah infact him and his friends are a bunch of chavz and are just taking advantage of the main road being flooded
A friend's family had real problems with the flooding in Sheffield. I'm glad it didn't reach you. There's nothing worse than stinky water methinks... Anyways, I'm totally gonna sub to your channel because you've obviously got some wicked videos on here. Excellent work my good man! Dan =:D
We are in stroud and have no water, we are still able to flush our loo's - just use a bit of common sense - take the lid off your loo and fill with rain/washing up water half way and it will flush. Some of my friends houses have been flooded.
I'm in the South-East, which could be a bit worrying. I have been out of the country for the past two weeks and have found the covereage rather amusing, but when you're back it's a bit diferent Still, I doubt I will get too bothered unless we are actually flooded here. Oh well.
I've become pretty pissy, frankly, because of the disparate nature of the news. Now the south has been hit, it's nothing BUT flood news. What a difference compared with a couple of weeks ago, when WE were flooded in the north. I believed the north/south divide was a myth until the beeb dispelled it. I'm disgusted.
Howdy Bob, Sorry to double post. The flooding in Southern England has not received much TV time here so your vid inspired me to search Youtube. I found a Vid of some dude in a Range Rover driving thur three of four feet of flood water. Is that a coincidence or have you inadvertently started a new extreme sport?
'Course they will, they're British! I've got some Gloucester "refugees" staying with me at the moment until they can return home and use their own flippin toilet! Good to see that lots of people in the area are "making do" by fixing buckets to their roof gutter downpipes and collecting rainwater to flush the loo, wash the Bentley, and other such essentials.
Sorry to hear about the flood in your area. I do without television so news is sparse. I need to pick up a newspaper now and again I reckon. Glad to hear you and your family are high and dry.
The loo-flushing thing could be addressed at least a bit by storing flood waters in buckets, bottles, etc? I heard on Monday, when the rain was still falling, that people were having to be advised not to use bottled water to flush...
Fingers crossed that if any more rain does have to fall this week it's scattered showers not deluges!
Good to hear. We're dry up on what we used to think was a mere bump not even a hill in Suffolk and very thankful for that. Too much of anything isn't a good thing even water. Cheers, Lesley
I heard some bubble headed presenter on BBC World this morning when interviewing a report in Tewkesbury, "It looks quite wet there.." The report said, "That's the understatement of the year".. I wish he had called her wet. I think some chemical toilets might be in order, well they better do something quick or its dig a whole in the garden time.
dam I just only just realised this dude is kryten off red dwarf and I watched every episode. I just subscribed a while back because of the scrap heap link.
Most of wales has escaped the flooding cos most of us live on hills. Its pretty limited to jus the people next to the rivers and on the dourder counties dues to the severn.
I'm up in scotland, and apart from your usual Scottish rain, we have for the large part totally missed out on all the torrential rain, I was reading that it's because we are cooler up here.
And it's true, I regularly walk in my pub and click my fingers and the juke box starts to play my favorite track.
The flooding is horrendous. I live near Oxford and the Botley road always got flooded but this year is particularly bad. I hope it is a one off bad year but I fear it is the result of global warming and we will have to get used to it in future years. Must live greener lifestyles.
alright Kryten haha, where is mr.Lister when you ned him?

It isn't flooding.
The UK is sinking under the weight of its porcine population.
Only Richard Simmons can save Ol' Blighty now.

You should have been in South Yorkshire, where it properly flooded. 3/4 of the whole county was flooded!!!!!!!

DON'T drive through water! You could end up in a hole that can't be seen and drown. It happens all the time.

I watched some coverage of the flooding last night. Looked very devastating. I hope the people and the area can recover. Thanks for the update.
