  • 2:46 -- Dracula approves

  • Weird...dudes are talking in italian, but the people are singing in German? Italian-German Hybrid option on the DVD?

  • german lyrics, italian speech by the guys.

Lets live up to our ideals without looking down on anyone.

    I want to believe ;)

  • did you know that the song's authors were jewish?

  • thank you for telling me - PUKE !!!

  • So what if the authors were Jewish, they were Germans who wrote a a song of hope that expressed the hope of a generation. Jews are and were German, so what, the treatment of Jews by Nazis is of no import in this instance, we all accept that the crime of genocide was terrible, but it does not now preclude that all good things must be redefined because they were of Jewish origin.Jewish or not, they were German.

  • no offense was intended ... i merely hinted at a somewhat irony of destiny ...

  • The blonde singer is a work of beauty - an angel. Yet, his angelic beauty juxtapsed against his Nazi uniform is unsettling. In full uniform, he is the embodiment of Hitler youth and Aryan idealism.

  • Like the english version better, for a simple reason.

    The voice match the mouth...

Still the voices are quite similar to the originals

  • This song is really powerfull.

It really shows the power that was held by the Nazi's after WWI and before WWII.

  • well said ototse

  • I didn't know they had changed the song for the Italian version...

    I prefer this one.

  • Chilling and hypnotic-like watching a storm on the horizon from a deserted beach and knowing its coming right at you.

  • It is an interesting song - quite "nationalistic" in a pre-World War II Germany sort of way. Does anybody know who wrote "TOMORROW BELONGS TO ME"? They were Amerikanischen und Judischen!! Was danken Sie das?

  • John Kander and Fred Ebb, both jews, for "Cabaret" soundatrack.

  • It seems Kander and Ebb did their job TOO well! The Neo-Nazi rock band Skrewdriver recorded this song, and it was recently recorded by the Swedish "nationalist" rocker Saga and self styled "fascist" Italian folk singer Aufidena (Ex-Viking), obviously unaware that its composers were Jews.

  • As they were unaware of how the world worked in other ways too. Their ideology was predicated upon something as stupid as anti-semitism and yet they sang this song? Dumb, dumb, dumb. But that's not a surprise.

  • i'd say you're the one confused. you simply believe what the jew run media wants you to believe. if the shit hits the fan, cower with the jews and other lesser races. just hope true proud whites dont find you with the swine

  • no one was unaware, the song was simply taken for what it is, an excellent song about pride and war. people have known that cabaret is jew propaganda since it came out. the jews even got mad at kander and ebb for writing it. white pride is american pride. we've taken this song for ours, and it's doing its purpose.

  • German language is the best language on the world. I'm from Croatia and I love my faterland and my language, but the German language is the best forein language. Aufwiedersehen. P.S. And Franch is too very good!

  • I am German and I tell you, that it is German :)

  • For me, this sequence is one of the most powerful in the history of cinema. I'll never forget the first time I saw it; I felt a physical adrenalin rush and the hairs literally stood up on the back of my neck. "Cabaret" as a whole is a cinematic classic. It hasn't aged and still packs a punch. Excellent indeed.

  • So they used the German song version in the Italian dubbing of the movie... funny!

First time I hear them sing in German, although I am a German native... Have to say that the English version is by far better and it doesn't matter at all that it is actually set in Germany... The song only develops its full power and has its heartbreaking effect if sung in English!

Best scene of a brilliant movie!

    Timeless...

  • this is true, although of course they 'original' would have been in german.

  • its german but it sounds strange for a german

  • i think it's a dialect or something and why do the voices sound so much like the movie?

  • Sounds great in whatever this language is. Sounds like the original singers who sang the English version.

  • It is german. But you are right, the original singers are singing this song, They have an english accent, thats why it sounds so strange.

  • Very sure. It is. I know, everybody around speaks in dieser Sprache ;)

  • Are you sure that's German? Sounds like Dutch or something....not German.

  • Everytime I see a Nazidouche while walking through Berlin or the towns around I have to sing that song quietely and wish God would punishment such stupidness with a thunderbolt.

This song is so passionly putted in scence in that film, it's a fantastic demonstration of how demogagoely fatal the time was back then. Unfortunately guys like the one before me still think in this silly way. This chimera seems never to die.

  • Amen!

  • A lovely song, if you don't have the video. Pity.

  • The lyrics are half American words that a re supposed to 'sound' German. Yet, another, Asiatic f##k-up.
