My first time hearing this song... they are so dynamic. Really love the places they go with their music. They don't go so far out that they lose some of their audience. They go right to the edge and on those rare occasions when they do go over, its refreshing and makes me love their sound even more.
Blindside is different from your everyday band...and christian bands first because they SOUND so great and original, no one can touch them...and secondly, their songs are meaningful to the real world and christianity...i LOVE blindside, i LOVE THEM. and i dont beleive in god at all! i beleive its all you to make your way and find heaven on earth before you die.
They are christian for sure - they help with World Vision and I have been at concerts where they outright say "God loves you guys" - Christian has also done mission work (I think in Africa and he went between About a Burning Fire and the Great Depression).
Every band member of this band is depp christian and if you look at the lyrics in almost every song you can see that it all have a christian message or some kind of christian things to tell us all, I know this becasue Ive meet the singer several times and talked about this.......his name is christian by the way...thats kind of funny=)
Now this is real hardcore!!! Blindside has always been one of my favorite bands since the NHL 2003 video game! It's really hard 2 find a true, pure hxc/hard rock band like Blindside!! I hate the "cookiecutter" bands coming out with unoriginal and often overbaked sounds!! That's definitely not Blindside!! They're like none other!!
"We're a rock band yes, but our lyrics and the personal way we try and relate to our audience is always in the forefront of our minds."
-Christian Lindskog-
Christian often mention in interviews how they're trying to spread the message of their faith and how they put the faith, and not themselves, in the centre of their performances. Christian Lindskog writes the lyrics from his perspective as a Christian.
yeahh, im in a bit of denial. My only beef is hypocrisy in every popular christian bands these days.
Tho, the thing with christian bands, is that... the only reason they truely put lyrics illuding to Jesus and Christianity is for more fans, and that will amount to more money. People shouldn't look for music to tell them what to believe. You go to church and read the bible to learn about Jesus and being a good person, music is entertainment, nothing more.
Music is a way to reach people. This type of music was originally not associated with people who associate with Christ. And through that, they can reach those people. It's not always about money, but I won't discredit your point.
if it wasn't for money, then they would go out and actually tell people about their beliefs. Music is entertainment. However, yes, it can be used to reach people, but Blindside is still making a profit for "reaching" those certain people.
Maybe their motive wasn't all for money, yet, it is still misleading for them to put up lyrics mentioning our messiah.
Have you read the bible where it says: "The worker deserves his wages." 1 Tim 5:18 Well I'm sure they get money with the music, but they have to live from something!!!! To make a record it's not free, it cost money, and a lot!!! God is not against having money, he is against money taking the place that only belongs to Him. As far as I'm concerned Blindside really seems to have God in the right place in their lives.
my point is to "seek the kingdom first, and everything else will be added to you" in Matthew 6:33.
i may not have explained my point well, but money isn't bad. However, using the gimmick of being a "christian" band appeals to a wider audience than simply being rock.
I am not so much against the band as i am people in general (i'm not necessarily counting you). People try to act as if they are the most Holy people on the planet when most of them dont even know what the word means!
Music is often used to convey beliefs because if they just went walking around alking about their beliefs, not that many people would take the time to listen to them.
i still have yet to really learn what makes the band christian. Their my favorite band, yet i really find nothing that makes them remind me of christian rock.
screaming? no
singing about girls occasionaly? no
being a clean band? eh, maybe.
my point is, there really arent any "christian" bands because of the hypocrisy. Its almost a self parody. Think, south park.
it just mentioned jesus... and they even label themselves as simply, 'rock'. I dunno, they just dont have that gay impact that most christian rock bands do nowadays.
dude shut up if their lyrics dnt sound christian then i dnt knw wat u are listening to and there are many more awesome christian bands as i lay dying, haste the day, devil wears prada, and many more
Do you realize that what you just said made no sense? Basically, you just said that even if they believe in what Christianity dictates, they're not necessarily Christian.
Actually, it does make sense. Following religion can mean one just going through the motions and rituals of that particular religion. One can be religious about Christianity but not live what they've been taught. There is a difference between hearing the Word and obeying the Word. Remember, even the demons believe who Jesus is, but because they're under the leadership of Satan, they'll never be in Heaven.
i am so sick of going on every blindside video and everyone talking about their religion. if you arent christian thats fine but who cares if they are or not as long as they keep giving us great music i dont care. i love that they believe in something so much.
Their musicians yeas but their first ministers dude, and every single song is christian. You liking or Not and won't be able to change that cuz God had already mark them forever.
Blessed be Lord our God for their lives to be the light in the Shadowns
I saw Blindside in concert and ever since then, they've been one of my favorite bands. Yemkela is deffinatley my favorite of their's even though they didn't play it.
I know, I have readed the interview. The lyrics seem christian , in a way. I think their christian(for at least now). But something doesn't feel right. I can't explain it.
I don't know much about this band yet. I am still doing research about them. But this is my opinion so far.(maybe it'll change later on)
blindside is allright. it does sound like noise in this video, but if you read the lyrics to that song, and watch their interview about the song, you'd understand why theyre considered cristian. one of the deepest songs
Jag var där.. på den här concert~! Jätte spenande! There was such a small crowd at this show, around 80 ppl, managed to grab some great pics and talked for a while afer with Blindside too! =)
i saw them the day after their album dropped, "the great depression" as usual the crowd favorite was "king of the closet", but this was a close second
^ no its just a plus that they happen to be a Christian band. I saw them live last year...and this video doesnt do the song justice. It was the craziest concert Ive been to...mainly cuz theyre my favorite band. And I was in the very front. \m/
Mind all of you, they lost their Christian Title at the rerelease of their First two albums, Blindside, and A Thought Crushed My Mind... that was over a year ago
its interesting... the studio demo i have has this song spelled this way, "Yem Kellum"
