I worked at Club 8150 in Vail, Colorado for years, and I can tell you that no one made that place sound the way Robert Cray did. Like a big old wood-cabinet jukebox the size of a swimming pool. First time I heard Twenty was there. Gave me goosebumps. Wanted to shake people on the street to make them listen to it.
people say polyester guitars are cheap and sound terrible. Cray's guitar is finished with polyester, so shows them who sounds bad :) It's all in the fingers
@shakeshaftthomas lots of guitar freaks say that a guitar finished with polyester or polyurethane finished guitars will sound dull and lifeless. Robert Cray's signature strat is finished with Polyester, and he sounds far from Dull and Lifeless, which proves that Tone is all in your fingers :)
I was lucky enough to see Robert Cray in a show a few years ago when he opened for Buddy Guy in Atlantic City. He is amazing and one of the most underrated bluesmen and guitar players ever. This song greatly influenced my opinions about the war and I still find it amazing how music can make such powerful influences.
I mean Fender not Les Paul, its a Robert Cray stratocaster.
