Drs tend to believe narcolepsy & cataplexy are synonomous! Finally FORCED them to test me, but they called me depressed for 30 years. The only depression I have is from wasting 30+ years, without the energy to be what I was meant to be! Drs NEED to listen.MY drs didn't laugh; just thought I was depressed! The pulmonologist who reluctantly ordered the MSLT was MORE than surprised when he got the results. Hopefully, at least MY doctor learned something. Horrible that MOST drs don't get it!
son is unable to drive -will not drive-sons Dr refuses to give him a placker because hes afraid they' take his lisecne away--the Dr knows he does not drive- we asked him to teach him to drive but at this time he has not taken him up on it or give him a placker-- 10 years+-- I am a MOM of a pwc and his college aid --I do miss the hair
Glad you talked about driving. I haven't been for hmm ... 3 or 4 years now. I couldn't even drive for 5 min w/out having serious microsleep problems. Lifestyle change has been the #1 difficulty for me since diagnosis. Meh ... maybe I'll make another vid & bitch about it :D
I need to talk to you calleharlem. U sound like me but in a diffrent body. I's hard to talk to someone about this... I was also diagonised with Narcalepsy with cataplexy.
Actually, I'd much prefer just sleep apnea to narcolepsy. Sleep apnea is very simple to treat with a CPAP machine. Narcolepsy is a pain to deal with on the other hand.

I have issues with the winter darkness but not with season changes in general.
