  • Obama's policy is let Brazil drill, baby, drill in their ocean. What's so great about that?

  • John R. Christy has been accused of recanting his position that climate change is neither Anthropogenic nor Catastrophic, but he didn’t. He used two independent data sets, weather balloon and satellite for his findings. (see links in my about me) Later he only stated that there was some anthropogenic impact that could not be predicted 100 years out, but that what we’re doing was good for the plants.

  • 2/2

Foreign countries price gouge w/ gas prices to $10/gal!.

. watch?v=bgKr480RYc4 Obama's Former Green Jobs Czar and Communist, Van Jones

Admits Left is 'PRETENDING' Need for Regulations in Green Movement

  • 1/2 Obama stop offshore drilling until it was reinstated. Only one permit has been issued since it was reinstated. This could cause a $5 a gallon increase, because we would grow dependent upon foreign nations we are not allies with in order to provide our oil. Cap and Trade (American Power Act) would increase gas prices increase by $2.58 a gallon according to George C. Marshall Institute& taxes on the average household up to $3200 according to the RNC

  • spill baby spill...

  • SPILL BABY SPILLL !!!!!

  • it's funny that "students" would ally with a republican seeing as how they'd be the first against the wall when the Christian Revolution comes to smite all the intelligent people

they must have majors in business I guess

  • BAN baby BAN! Now... forever. No more Deepwater Horizon horrorshows.

  • @Rep0007 Ban? Okay, I hope you're ready to abandon gasoline powered motor vehicles, use a goat to mow your grass, grow all your own organic food without petrochemical fertilizers or pesticides, abandon international trade, and refuse to use oil-based polymers (most clothing, cell phones, computers, any consumer item in plastic) . Otherwise, STFU because you're an oil consumer too! You don't have any moral high ground!

  • @jimbad05 No, you STFU, I buy all organic, I drive less than 3,000 miles a year, I do buy hemp and cotton clothing and avoid plastic clothes, and I don't waste time water or money on growing a useless lawn. It isn't hard at all to do these things and if everyone did, we'd need 80% less oil and sure as hell wouldn't need a single offshore pollution rig. BAN BABY BAN and STFU, you oil-industry a**-licker dumbf*ck. (And btw, we DO use goats to keep the weeds down at some local parks!)

  • @Rep0007 Good for you, but like I said, you STILL consume oil! You still drive and use modern electronics. My point is that it's virtually impossible to live in the modern age without oil. Maybe if we all used less, we wouldn't need offshore oil NOW, but most onshore oil projects are all in decline. Would you rather we rely more on tar sands? What should we do when oil prices rise even higher and crash the economy again? Just quit whining about financial ruin since the oceans are safe?

  • The ship of Fools

  • @jglickma I agree democrats do suck

  • listen to that stupid lisp and fake smile

  • lolol obama won and is now the president

  • How sweet is the irony that Republicans were putting down community organizing, and Obama community organized his way over them & onto Air Force One. LMAO!

To get to hell...drill baby, drill.

  • Too bad ( Thatniceguy) you stated this in a public forum... you have GOT to be embarrassed... because your Obama worked for the CORUPT community organization, ACORN! Damn, ACORN was about all Obama had on his resume'. ROTFLMAO!

  • No, still LMAO b/c he's still on AForce1. As far as you squirrels going nuts over ACORN, no worries mate, they'll be back gathering more sigs for '12. But the way the Gimmick Offering Party has turned a big tent into small white hoods, they won't be as needed. Besides, if Fix News raged against YOU 24/7/365, your mom would hate your guts too. There's corruption in all orgs; w/o having GOP ops pose as a pimp & ho to try & undo the people's mandate. I wish Palin kids were educated abt drilling :)

  • No wonder his kids hate him ...

  • test

  • I had considered voting for McCain seeing that he has been traditionally a moderate and used to be against offshore drilling. But after seeing this clip, I'm disgusted at the party and how extreme it has become.

  • WHY ISN'T THERE MORE OUTRAGE OVER THIS "DRILL BABY, DRILL!" COMMENT??

Seriously. This makes me sick to watch. And no one is talking about it!!

  • Probably because we bigger things to worry about.

    Such as:

ZOMG! BRITNEY SPEARS SISTER IS PREGGERS!

  • god I hope you're joking :)

  • @MonaSabbat Please know that this was appalling to me a year ago as well. Today I am outraged!!! Hope all of the misguided and ill informed who chillingly chanted "Drill Baby, Drill are out there helping to clean this up. Betchya they are more concerned with where they will attempt to place the blame... don't ya know.

  • Non-renewable energy is dead end, very short-sighted, and threatens our children's future. Why are people so reluctant to change? If it's jobs you're worried about GREEN energy solutions are the next wave of jobs and huge profits.

And if you don't want to see your beloved corporations go down the tubes, then tell them to ACT! Offer ExxoMobil, Gulf, Amaco and the rest of them FIRST CRACK at renewable energy so they can still profit, but do it ethically AT LEAST!

  • Giuliani, your snickering face sickens me, as do the faces of each and every person in that crowd. Rot in hell with Palin, you money-hungry pandering pawns!

  • What happens if all this new drilling does lower gas prices? Then all the demand we have right now for efficient vehicles and public transportation is gone, and and we're screwed the next time we're in an energy crisis.

    Drilling is a lose-lose situation.

  • "Then all the demand we have right now for efficient vehicles and public transportation is gone, and and we're screwed..."

I don't think gas price reductions will prevent companies like Tesla and Zenn from continuing to try to find the right technology to manufacture affordable electric cars....it's just that we're not there yet. The EV's now are WAY too expensive, and don't have the range of a gasoline-powered car. But I'm confident one day they will. Until then...drill, baby, drill!

  • GM had an electric car 10 years ago. Why isn't a more advanced version of it here on the road today?? Because the demand wasn't great enough to shove out Big Oil. No demand = no funding = no innovation = no suitable EV's in the market. And the oil addiction drags on...

  • "Because the demand wasn't great enough to shove out Big Oil."

And the reason the demand wasn't big enough was because the car SUCKED..it had no range, and it looked like some silly cartoon from the Jetsons. Don't fall for the Michael Moore, left-wing conspiracy theories about the death of that car - that car died because NO ONE WANTED TO BUY IT. Contrast that with the Tesla, which despite it being 110K, there is a 2-year waiting list for it. It's all about finding what consumers want in an EV.

  • "the car SUCKED... it looked like some silly cartoon from the Jetsons"

That's what people said about the Prius too. UNTIL $4 GAS. Now they're freakin' everywhere. What people want most in a car is to not go broke buying it and refueling it.

If all new cars made right now were hybrids, full-electrics, or diesel, we would be just fine without new drilling. The money that's going into drilling should be going into making the efficient cars we have today even better... AND better public transit.

  • "That's what people said about the Prius too. UNTIL $4 GAS. Now they're freakin' everywhere. What people want most in a car is to not go broke buying it and refueling it."

Well, we're talking about EV's...the Prius is NOT an EV...but you do help me make my point - the Prius is popular because it satisfies the needs of consumers...great range, good mileage, and it can keep up with traffic. That's why the Prius is over-priced right now, and in some places there is a waiting list to get one.

  • "If all new cars made right now were hybrids, full-electrics, or diesel, we would be just fine without new drilling."

And now we're back to fantasy-land. Gas cars aren't going to go anywhere for at least another 10-20 years. They are entrenched in our society, and even if the automakers stopped making gasoline-power cars tomorrow and only sold EV's, hundreds of millions of folks would still hang on to their gas cars...probably for years. We still need to drill.

  • And the new drilling won't produce any oil for at least another 8 years. It's not like there aren't other sources of oil that exist right now. The oil companies already have areas they haven't even explored yet. They just want more areas so they can make more money off it... and by selling most of it overseas, not in the U.S. where the dollar is weak.

  • "And the new drilling won't produce any oil for at least another 8 years. It's not like there aren't other sources of oil that exist right now."

More like 5 years, and had started 5 years ago, we'd have the oil by now. More reason to drill NOW.

"The oil companies already have areas they haven't even explored yet."

Complete myth. The oil company leases are checked to see which ones have extractable oil, and those are drilled..the ones without extractable oil..aren't. We still need to drill.

  • And once that supply starts dwindling, we look for somewhere else to drill. Why? Because we didn't invest enough in alternatives. Oil is clearly not sustainable.

The GOP is completely deceiving the public by promising all this new oil that would be "ours."

  • Agreed. And another consequence of renewed drilling is the enviormental impact. I'm not a "tree hugger" but what about spillage, polluted water supplies, endangered animals,etc.. Just so some people w/big ass SUV's or pick-ups can get a cheaper price. Oil is NOT,repeat NOT renenewable. The GOP is irresponsible with this. It's a band-aid on a bullet wound..

  • "oh except for those pennies you'll save in 2030 when drilling now may actually affect gas prices at the pump."

We'll see the price drop at the pump IMMEDIATELY once we as a nation embrace the idea that we need to expand our offshore drilling capabilities, as well as drill in previously restricted areas...the commodoties speculators have a HUGE influence on the price of oil, and when they see increase oil supplies in the future, the price of oil will drop like a rock.

  • When oil companies already have the rights to to drill on offshore land with 34 billion barrels of oil estimated below, why is this even being brought out as an issue?

Because they know the value of oil is only increasing exponentially and reserving more now while the public is paying record prices for gas is easy.

They should go ahead and drill... with what you have. But either way we shouldn't support any of it with tax subsidies or tax breaks.

  • There're a lot of drills in Oklahoma and Texas that are standing idle. Why not start them back up? No matter how much the moron establishment drills you're still gonna pay Exxon 150 bucks to fill your Hummer.

  • i'm not gonna say republicans, even though it was chanted at the RNC, but PEOPLE are fucking stupid. Its like people are reduced to nonsensical feet shuffling zombies when it comes to fixing out energy independence. i thought were supposed to be on a path to energy independence...this sounds like its a fucking witch hunt chant.

the worst is the idiot in the beginning of the video who just screams "oillllllll". dipshit

  • "Its like people are reduced to nonsensical feet shuffling zombies when it comes to fixing out energy independence."

I agree - I feel the same way when I hear liberals and democrats screaming about alternative, renewable fuels...as if they exist. They don't. We need to drill for oil wherever it might be found, and we need to do it NOW.

  • Umm...youd be surprised, there r a lot of renew. energy sources, & fuels that r avail but for some reason (bush=oil man, go figure) the govt isnt puttin them in2 action. 4 example, why after so many solar farms being built would bush sign a moratorium to axe future farms...for "enviro. impact studies" B.S. And why exactly do we have HUGE tarrifs on sugarcane eth. from brazil? By the way, sugar cane eth. has 8x the energy as corn, but we love our farmers and wont make any switches to sugarcane

  • ummm..you'll probably be surprised to learn this, but there are no VIABLE alternative/renewable sources of energy to power cars...NONE. Nada. Nein. Nicht. Zero. Bupkis. When you can point me to an alternatively-fueled car that can reach 80 mph, has a 300 mile range, and costs the same as a honda accord or toyota camry, you let me know, m-kay? I'll be first in line to buy it.

  • I dont know why, but it seems like you're anti renewable energy. There are millions of cars on the road in Brazil that run on nothing but ethanol. They felt the squeeze of the 70s oil crisis and decided to plan their future ahead. And these are cars that go just as fast as regular petrol cars, w/ the same exact range. looks like youre a drill baby drill supporter, thing is even if drilling started NOW, they net change in current gas prices wouldn't hit for another 5-8 years (5 at best)

  • "There are millions of cars on the road in Brazil that run on nothing but ethanol."

And ethanol has a MUCH lower density than oil...if you get 30 mpg with gas, you might get 15 mpg with ethanol, and ethanol production takes away from food production...we've already seen how the increased demand for ethanol has raised the prices of corn and just about every other food product as well.

Drillin NOW will reduce the price of gas IMMEDIATELY because speculators will bet on increased supplies of oil.

  • and on top of that, when you're looking at battery technology, its doubling every 6-7 years. So, i think the net impact of doubling battery capacity w/ existing li-ion batteries will have a greater effect on transportation on cars, then the 3% addition of oil production by the year 2030 if we started drilling now. this is a energy crisis that requires huge reform, not the simpleton thinking of, "maybe we should just start drilling more".

  • simbadogg, ok, just so i'm clear...what exactly IS the democrat plan to reduce the price of gas that americans are paying while we wait for battery technology and electric cars to become viable? i mean, if you don't support more drilling...which clearly you don't...surely you must have a plan to help average americans deal with the high price of gasoline...what is it?

  • You are absolutely correct. "Drill baby drill" is the dumbest& most irresponsible policy we can do. How about carpool, alternative fuels,& explore new sources. I don't want a f**cking oil rig in the middle of my neighborhood. Cause that's what it's coming to with this stupid idea.

  • "I don't want a f**cking oil rig in the middle of my neighborhood."

Then sell your car and start walking.

  • still waiting for you to point me to an alternatively-fueled car that can reach 80 mph, has a 300 mile range, and costs the same as a honda accord or toyota camry, you let me know, m-kay? I'll be first in line to buy it....

  • How often do you go 80 mph? or 300 miles? The electric car GM destroyed (see the documentary Who Killed The Electric Car) was capable of meeting 90% of consumer's driving needs as it was and the technology has only improved. Sure they weren't cheap, but neither is filling your gas tank and it's not going to be getting much cheaper.. oh except for those pennies you'll save in 2030 when drilling now may actually affect gas prices at the pump.

  • "How often do you go 80 mph? or 300 miles?"

80 mph every time I'm on the freeway that runs through my town (if I want to keep up with traffic)...300 mile range is not quite as important, but the fact remains most Americans will want the flexibility of being able to drive MORE than 50 or 60 miles at a time if they need to...if and until EV's are affordable and can do what cars do (or at least reasonably close to it), they will remain an unviable transportation alternative for most consumers.

  • *puke*

  • As far as "drill baby drill" goes, I agree with Obama, we should leave the children out of this.

  • Take America and divide it in two. I am done with the republicans point of view. Drill baby drill?? You have to be kidding me. Why would anyone listen to a bunch of screaming religious freaks that have never been to the coast or have ever seen an oil spill. Squander and pillage the planet - the republican way.

  • "Religious freaks?" Are you effing kidding me? Those people are Americans like me who are sick and tired of the democrats in a democratically-controlled Congress sitting on their collective ASSES and doing NOTHING while gas prices reached 4 bucks a gallon...at least Republicans have the commons sense to realize that increased drilling will increase our oil supplies. The democrat energy policy appears to be one of hope - they HOPE no one notices that they've been ignoring the energy crisis.

  • It's kinda hard for Congress to get anything done. It's built into the checks and balances of our government. The Democrats...even as a voting block do not have the power to override a veto from an incompetent, hardheaded president. Drilling misses the point and is only a short term solution.

  • "Drilling misses the point and is only a short term solution."

We NEED a short-term solution, and the democrats don't have one. They want everyone to give up fossil fuels without any viable alternative fuels in the pipeline, apparently in the hopes that they will be discovered soon...I guess maybe that's the "hope" Obama keeps talking about. Bottom line - we need to be doing EVERYTHING...drilling, nuclear, wind, solar, geothermal...we need to do it all.

  • God have mercy for they no not want they do!!

  • Drill baby drill??!! You f**kin' serious? How about conserve, carpool,& alternative fuels?? Sure lets wipeout all of the Alaska wilderness. This is one of the dumbest chants I've ever heard. Drill baby drill is what Rudy's mistress was yelling at the mayor's mansion..

  • what a load of spastics

  • crazy people

  • we are drilling a hole in the future of the next generations

  • When Sarah Palin said Drill Baby Drill. Levi took her advice and drilled Bristol Palin.

  • The true colors of these greedy psychos. They don't care about you, your children, and ESPECIALLY not the planet. in fact they seem dead set on destroying it any way they can.

  • First of all, I couldn't even understand what he was saying. And second, Ain't no redneck drilling oil off my CA. All those people who were saying drill, were people who drove gas guzzlers and were infuriated out how come they're paying 100 bucks a fill. Newsflash, You're driving a car that only gets like 10 miles per gallon.- CA resident against drilling.

  • Drill Baby Drill? Are they serious?I feel stupid just typing it!

  • I happen to think that it's a GREAT idea!!! Why devote all of our resources to this "green" idea that's still in its infancy? My current automobiles don't run off of hydrogen. Ethanol is a GREAT idea... until there's a drought and corn prices shoot up wourldwide (do you guys remember ANY American drought? I certainly do; the mid to late 80s). Nuclear - yes; Electrical- yes; green this-and-that - of course, but... until then, take care of us TODAY too, not just tomorrow.

  • I heard about this and didn't believe it until I saw this video...It is truly disheartening.

  • this is ourrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr country!

  • What an evil little monkey. He disgusts me.

  • -Ugh-

Was it just me, or did this scene freak anyone out and remind them of a Nazi Party rally?

Seriously, if I believed in all of that christian crap I might hint that McCain was the anti-christ.

  • Disturbing... as if oil was the only viable source of energy... even if oil is produced in our backyards, it won't belong to us, it belongs to the oil companies and they will charge for it according to the demand which is set to climb higher and higher. Which means, they won't be drilling for us, the people, to save money, they will be drilling for the Big Fat Cats who don't need more money!. What's wrong with these Reps? do they think is 1950?!

  • uhhh, no. There is a thing called mineral rights. Oil in your "backyard" (or on your property) is yours AS LONG AS YOU OWN THE MIVERAL RIGHTS (though not everyone owns the rights). Why would Big Oil would own it?

  • Disturbing... as if oil was the only viable source of energy... even if oil is produced in our backyards, it won't belong to us, it belongs to the oil companies and they will charge for it according to the demand which is set to climb higher and higher. Which means, they won't be drilling for us, the people, to save money, they will be drilling for the Big Fat Cats who don't need more money!. What's wrong with these Reps? do they think is 1950?!

  • And when their grandchildren have to clean up the mess, will they be so cavalier?

  • Republicans are funny. They always talk about intellectual elitism, but let's be honest about it; who isn't smarter than this bunch of Neanderthals? The 16 year old that just bagged my groceries can out wit this crowd.

  • "Drill, baby, drill" the Devil's minions chant, giving fodder to the "Islamo-terrorists" who think the US is the "Great Satan" No wonder we are at war with people who see these glutenous fat cats and their obvious self-righteous anger

Guiliani keeps bringing up the "War on Terror" yet always fails to mention there are reasons the US was attacked. Meddling in the Mideast, supporting dictators, starting wars, attacking Islam...

It's peeps like Guiliani who led us to the mess in the 1st place
