  • Wow, that's crazy stuff! Incredible. They are all super-human or something.

  • omg they are very skilled dancers. that huge jump and double kick impressed me.

  • Wow, wow, wow.

  • Its such a passionate dance!!!

  • This is the dance that Russians copied and posted as Russian Cossack dance, just so all you know that. In fact most dancers who dance in those "army" videos are Ukrainian

  • Don't know what was in that letter but guessing from the dance Turks didn't liked it very much.

  • @uporabn1k You should read the letter. Turks mustn't be happy reading it ;-)

  • @basilolo I did afterwards... eaven thought it could or could not be the actual one (at least the one i was reading) it was still a lot of fun to read.

  • It reminds me of the Magyar/Ukrainian/Polska feasts at the old Verhovy Hall in South Bend, Indiana but they left out all of the incredibly beautiful girls and the food/drink ! Now you go into a place where they charge you $7 for a bottle of beer and have some flakey feminine waiter that expects a $2 tip !! Where are the waitresses nowadays??? What Happened to Amerika????

  • Fabulous video. It's wonderful that Ukrainians of all origins, ancestries and ethnicities can live in harmony in a land where diversity is encouraged and valued. That's the true Zaporozhian Cossack leadership example and legacy that lives on.

  • This painting is so epic it comes to life!!! I love being Ukrainian, and i love to be optomistic and positive.

  • ukraina forever !!

Greetings from your Polish brother! :)

  • Just wanted to say-- coming out the picture was awesome! Dobre!

  • Who on earth would dislike this?

  • my father was from the UKRAINE and he could still do some of the dancing in his 60s he was only 5foot 7 inches in height but over 6 feet tall in heart and kindness

  • @hobonotabum That is our main difference from Russians, is our loving nature and kindness, never forget that, the fight is not over

  • cossack means: free man. no mater who you are, russian or ukranian.

  • @erclievski kozak is name given to ukrainians by tartars because we were free men, how could russian be free man when he kissed feet of Tsar and treated him like he was better than everybody else?

  • @erclievski It means first and foremost a free fighter!

  • Long LIve Ukraine! The birth place of Cossacks and Slavic Freedom !

  • What type of music was that after the fade and how can I find more of it?

  • nie dawno poznałem ukraina mieszkającego w krakowie wporządku chłopak ;] pozdrawiam ukrainów

  • ukraini slava !

  • @Nickname997

    stop calling yourself names.

  • Conversations at YouTube between Ukrainians and Poles are usually respectful and celebrate both similarities & differences between the cultures despite our tragic battles against each other in darker times in our history. Common ancestry & soul are celebrated without smugness or malice.

As soon as a Russian person imposes on the dialogue it becomes an imperialist declaration of ownership of the culture. It is NOT "все равно" (same thing). Russians would not call themselves Poles or Ukrainians!

  • No właśnie od kiedy polska była prawosławna

966 14 kwietnia Przyjęcie chrztu przez Polske

    Wcześniej byla poganska

  • Damn, how much leg strength do you need to do this stuff.

  • @xXForgottenSoldier

it is amazingly hard to dance this, we had to do it in school.

  • I love their dance. And it looks so incredibly hard to perform! Greetings from Poland :)

  • taras bulba?

  • Rosjanie to zlodzieje po wojnie niby sojusznicy a zabrali nam troche narodu

  • now is ukraine, in this time it was poland (rzeczpospolita)

  • Kurwa kozacy zawsze pozostana w polsce stad sie biorą ci cali huligani

I tez poganskia i wtedy to bylysmy jedno !!!!

  • FANTASTIC DANCING, MUCH BETTER THAN THOSE HIP HIP MOVES I ALWAYS LOVED THIS TYPE OF DANCE FANTASTIC,

  • So where is Taraz?

  • Korchaginets shlyot privet.

  • засвiт встали козаченьки, в похiд з полуночi!!!

  • Oh my. They didn't seem to like the sultan from what I could garner from the letter's contents.

  • Where can i get a pair of thoes pants they are awsome, BTW 5th gen Ukr here ;)

    Love Ukraine !

  • @Mikemugee u can either get em from ukraine or order them online

Glory to Ukraine!

  • @MrRohander ny ti i debil. a skolko lüdej krasnie syki rasstrelRli ti ne znaew?

  • @casperado666 very funny! :-)

  • anyone ones what they're saying at the end?

  • @maximatort

Russian Devls Empire of lie must die. VIVA VIVA UKRAЇЇNA!!!

  • @ArtemKyiv facepalm...

  • Incredible dancing..........

  • Long Live Ukraine!

  • yak garno!!!

  • Nice job

  • nice! Great work out! Kozats'kyi gopak!

  • Wonderfull !!!!!!

  • Yes, that letter was the right way how to answer the oppressors...

  • Do ukrainans still have any cossack hosts? Becouse i found information that russian cossacks hosts are "remade" and are recognized as a distinct ethno-cultural entity and also as a military force.

  • Find that letter in internet. Cossacs said many swearwords to that turkish monkey and called him as muslim goat subhuman. In 1677 100 000 turkish army was kicked by ukrainian cossacs under Chigirin. Also in 1678 200 000 turkish army was kicked there. After that cossacs wrote this letter.

  • thts why they gave it to joseph starling ? in the war

  • The letter is the "polite" cossack of saying to the Ottoman sultan to get lost.

PS: Cossacks will never give their allegiance to tyrants.

  • Hey khoptsi ne zhuryc, tude cyude povernyc

  • sabr talch-ast, valíkan bare šírín darad

  • Proud to be Ukrainian

  • I think it's vodka... :)

  • 1:45 HERE COMES THE BEER!

  • apparently, beer's the life of the party.

    talk about rowdy dancing eh?

  • Yup, these are the original party animals.

  • It's probably mead.

  • More like "samogon", our version of Moonshine.

  • Crazy moves! I love it. What are they saying at 1:35, does anyone know?

  • Literal translation: "Hey boys, don't worry, look here and everywhere." It's a traditional Ukrainian Kozak phrase, but I am not sure of it's intended meaning. Maybe "hey boys, relax and take a look at this."

  • Thanks.

  • ZAPOROJIE FOREVER=)

  • AMEN!

  • an all-alcholic- dancing, fucking war machine

    who can beat that.

screw the 300 this is the real deal

  • Haha, Russelt0228 :P Actualllyyyyy...

Cossacks did not drink during times of war, nor did they allow women in the sich :o BUT they still danced and it is awesome.

  • No words can describe how awesome this is. Simply amazing.

  • Krishtalewi chashi :D

  • Women don't dance this particular dance. But they do dance hopak, a similiar genre. Type hopak, especially Virsky Hopak (performed by Virsky ensemble) and you should find it.

    Cheers.

  • love this dance! can women learn this dance, I'd love to learn it! The movement, the harmony, the fluidity, the endurance, the strength...it's beautiful

  • with none due respect. FUCK SOVIETS. ukrainian sovereignty.

  • Damn, strong legs!

  • Cossacks are happy people!

  • hi guys, one of my old questions again... could someone write in cirilic what are they saying from 1:31 to 1:39?? thanks

  • I think it's: "гей микола не журісь, сюди туди повернісь!" My group did an adaption of this dance a while back. My brother told me what they said because he did the dance. :)

  • hey, ty vm much aprecciated =)

  • It's not" hey mykola" it's " hey, khlopsi" (the Ukrainian word for boys. And, in the 2nd part, you mixed up tude & cyude. Sorry, I don't have the capabilities of typing in Cyrillic.

But, if it helps, it's "Hey khoptsi ne zhuryc', tude cyude povernyc'"

  • its hard to listen (bad quality) In ukrainian cyrilic it will be like: "Гей, хлопці не журись!

  • hey guys, thanks all for the answer... and I have the song in good quality if one of you would like

  • they are saying "хей хлопці не журись,туди сюди повернись" which means word by word " hey guys, dont get upset, turn around back and forth"

  • great one! when the vid was shot?

  • 1981 as it says at the start =)

  • holy shit that was amazing!! My mother is Ukrainian and they are happy people indeed, but I still see Russians as delighted people as well:) I love the culture, music, and especially the dancing

  • I am bot russian or ukrainian but i have a lot of ukrainian friends and they are very happier people!!!!

    100% respect

  • Very nice video! Where did you get it?

  • I myself was born in Russian but my mom is Ukrainian. My best memories are from spending time in Ukraine with my granny. While Russian & Ukrainian cultures maybe similar Ukrainian people are happier, way more fun and light hearted. I thank God for my granny every day! Simply love Ukrainians! They have sence of humor no matter what!

  • I am russian born and raised living in america, my boyfriend is Ukrainian and I agree with you 100% that Ukrainians are always so happy and look on bright side of everything. It's very refreshing!

  • @anyaonline i have to agree for the most part, but i was in ukriane last summer....and ...it was shocking, the light hearted ppl r becomeing money grubing assholes...

  • @9nxt welcome to democracy, capitalism, freedom - did you expect the ukrainian people to stay frozen in time?

  • @Fureyn no smart ass but i would expect them not to turn into gient assholes

  • @9nxt - only time will reveal that; in the meantime, give them a chance to adjust to their new life; the transformation from an occupied land throughout their history to a viable & sustainable nation consists of many stages & could take 20-30 years; money grubbing is only Stage 1; have you thought about vacationing someplace more developed?

  • This was a terrific show put on by professional dancers, much like a Hollywood production. These dancers are, er, were paid by the Soviet government at the time. Ukraine is a beautiful Nation and now free of the Russian yoke, although Putin wants to dominate the surrounding Nations again like the tyrant he is. May God bless the Cossacks and Ukrainian people and keep them free!

  • Bravo

  • They dance like ballerinas. They are so skilled and leap so high! Forgive my ignorance, but I always thought they were Russians. I guess its time for a trip to wikipedia.

  • all the people in the world are the similar kind, the point is some people want to control other people, that is veda

  • great dance and workout too specially for the legs!

  • Blah, Blah, Bla to all these comments.

This group of performers are fantastic!

Who cares who invented what. Over the centuries what with all the traveling every culture has done, all have borrowed and created a little from everyone. Its whats make us all who we are today. And if we could just live in uninson and harmony, the world would be a better place for all of us!

I've definately added this to one of my favorites on youtube.

  • Moj mene! us Slavs sure know how to dance!

  • Irish and Slavs are the best european dancers.

If you watch any old movie you see that many of the dance moves black Americans claim as theirs, are infact stolen dances from from early European ghettos who brougt their dances with them that latter were stolen by blacks.

  • No need to bring race into this. If breakdancers incorporate some Ukrn dance moves into their repertoire, good on 'em- after all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! As a Cdn of Ukrn & Rusn lineage (biracial!!) who did many years of Ukrn dancing, who had the good luck to see these guys live in Canada in 1987 (88?), and who also played a lot of bebop trumpet, I can say that quality transcends all boundaries - as this amazing performance does with ease. Thanks to whomever posted it.

  • lilsteller--yeah our dances look alike

  • @lilsteller That is because thousands years ago Irish (Celts) separated from people who are now Slavs:-)

  • @lilsteller I think stolen is not a good word. It's common to learn from your neighbours and from travellers from far countries, and without it there would be no improvement and progress and even those great old cultures as are Celts and Slavs would be much poorer...

  • That was fantastic thank you so much

  • Thank you, Soviet Army dancers, for this amazing performance!

  • Terrrrrifffic Art of Dance!!! A little comment to benderovtsu enayze. Real Ukrainians and Russians were, are and always be brothers. A mass murderer Bandera/Mazepa're not Ukrainian heroes, but pro-western trash full of hate only God knows of what true nationality. They lived like wolves and died like wolves with innocent blood on their paws.

  • Can you all just shut up and watch this piece of culture?

  • thank you so much for uploading this :)

  • This video is genial! Is it from a movie? How does it call?

I love the cossacks, russians and ukrainian dances, are full of vitality.

  • Ykrainskomy Naridy ne isnuye braterskoho narody !

  • So, can anyone tell this corrupt American, where Zopokruk is? Is it anywhere near Zoporzhye?

  • I visited Zaporozhye 3 times, went to the Island' once mountainbiking, seen a wolf, big horses and a big moustache.I like Zaporozhye and my house has many things I brought home from there.Wish I can visit again : )
