  • its big cook little cook

  • Hermione Norris is so pregnant here. She's always been so skinny - a bit unhealthily so - it's nice to see her a little chunkier. Oooo did a quick google and she was pregnant with her daughter Hero. Abundance of baby in this episode!

  • You know, I think LoveOmeOdearly it right, they ARE the cooks of Big Cook, Little Cook.

  • Love Stephen Fry in this show. Thanks so much ivorykisses for uploading this.

  • Most epic theme song ever :)

  • Great stuff! I like a good story with some feeling now and again...in between the prize fights and war films of course. I especially like the dry humour. Can't fathom why ITV would cancel such a top notch show.

  • Aren't the two road side cooks Big Cook Ben and Little Cook Small or am I going mad =) I'm 18 by the way and I adore Big Cook and Little Cook =) xxx

  • You can rent it from Netflix, too.

  • When Peter said, 'Lyle! Jumble!' it sounded almost as if it could become Kingdom's catchphrase, even though it hasn't much to do with jumblesales.

  • So happy this was posted! Saw the first season on Hulu. They have yet to post the second and third, so it's nice to find them here. Stephen Fry is brilliant.

  • I want Stephen Fry to feed me airplane-style

  • @beatyourheartout91

I would like Karl Davies to feed me airplane-stlye!

  • aspect ratio aspect ratio aspect ratio

  • plus im from Norfolk so this has special appeal to me :) it is awsome

  • Stephen fry is quite possibly one of the ebst and funniest actors in history.

  • oh god!

the two road side chef guys were steve marsh and dan wright(aka big cook ben and little cook small)

glad my 6 year old wasn't watching at the time,i would have to explain why big and small were having a punch up in a field lol

  • really disconcerting with the confederate flag. a flag doesn't mean something else in GB, just as the British flag doesn't change meanings abroad. the US makes silly movies about Nazis though, so Kindgom has their freedom to represent us as they wish.

  • The more I hear, read and find out about Stephen Fry - the more I love him. For some people the more you discover about him, the more you hate him. Can't understand the loathing some direct towards him - I think it's an outcome of envy. He's niceness in a ice cube (if that makes sense).

I think he plays the role in a quite irresistible way. Brilliant!

  • SPACE PIG

  • At 1:34 when Peter says "And Auntie" and Beatrice looks up, I think she looks exactly like Toni Collette.

  • She wasn't re-cast...it's the same actress (Hermione Norris) she just looks a little different.

  • I lived in this area for many years and, I admit, I took it all for granted.

Now that I am a zillion miles away, in SE Asia, I miss it terribly.

You don't know what you have until it's taken away.

I still see the harbour town as Blakeney, rather than the Wells-next-the-Sea that is officially quoted and google earth appears to confirm Blakeney. Odd!

  • The rebel flag must mean something else in the UK.

  • Why?

By that logic, A black Swastika encircled in white on a red flag must mean something different in Canada.

  • They re-casted the sister in the second episode? ... disconcerting. Also disconcerting is the Confederate flag at 4:05. Common in the English countryside, are they?

  • I am quite confused and anything I say should be disregarded. I thought this was S1E02 not S2E01. Terrible at numbers, hah

  • Humor me. Whats the Confederate flag? Has it got something to do with the American civil war or is that my history getting jumbled up?

  • It does - it's the red flag with the blue X and white stars. The Confederate flag was the flag of the South in the American civil war and as such is somewhat controversial - to different people it can symbolize either the institution of racism and slavery or the rich, proud history of the South. Some people associate it with rednecks. A bit out of place here... though I guess they're the Norfolk version of rednecks?

    Sorry for long answer!

  • ahh, yep that's what I thought! I guess it doesn't mean anything particularly over hear, well why would it i supose.

  • Unlikely: It has meaning that follows from being a well-known political symbol (reference the Nazi-fied swastika).

A Confederate Flag is a stand in for 1) down-home-country, for which I've gathered England has no equivalent or 2) White pride, although often both. As a point of reference, in some parts of Canada it's common to see the Confederate flag.

  • That baby will be so proud when he's older !

  • are there only 6 eps per series?? can someone please confirm im awfully confused! x

  • Yes, more often than not, all series' in the UK are no more than 6 or 7 episodes.

Only Doctor Who and the like are 13 or 14 episodes

  • Is it just me or is series 2 a little more sentimental and well... less intense than the first? I can't put my finger on it but it's different.

  • The second series is just as lovely as the first. Does anyone know where to get the second series torrent? I'm in Canada, so I can't get the DVD in order to share it with my grandmother. I've looked everywhere for the torrent.

  • I wish Stephen Fry had been MY uncle! I imagine he would have the best stories, and having bedtime stories read to you in his voice all the time would have been marvelous.

  • Did Beatrice say "Clearly they're all broken"? XD This is a great episode so far, I can't thank you enough for uploading this television series for us all.

  • Stephen looks so comfortable and lovely with that baby. I wonder if he's good with children in real life?

  • I think he probably is. He's the godfather to all of Hugh Laurie's children, and he says he loves to spend time with the Laurie family and spoil the kids. He just doesn't want to have any kids of his own, he's said.

  • unlikely to happen to be fair :)

  • Pity really. He'll never pass on his sheer amazingness. :(

  • @radiofan6872 - I doubt you'll answer this as your comment was left three years ago but when and where did Stephen say he doesn't want kids? Was it in a interview? I'm always looking for new interviews I haven't seen/read and I think I would've remembered that one.

    Kayleigh

  • @ghostmadlittlemiss Oh gee, I don't remember the specific interview any more. Could have been his 50 Not Out series, maybe? Or QI? I've been a Fry fanboy for too many years now to remember the exact source.

  • @radiofan6872 - Fair enough. :) I don't think it was 50 Not Out as I think I saw that. Might have been QI, I've still got a lot of those to get through!

    Kayleigh

  • Fry, Fry oh wonderful Fry : D

  • Can't wait till I can get this on DVD!

  • Thank you so much for posting this! Being in Canada, I can't get the series "as it happens" and it's been absolutely excrutiating! Thank you!!

  • I'm soooo happy to see the new season at last!!!

BTW: was Stephen grabbing that burger vendor's man-boobs?? LOL!!!

  • Huzzah! Thank you so much for posting this! It feels like I've been waiting forever for the second season.

  • That's it...I'm drafting my petition to be adopted by Stephen Fry. That was just too adorable.

Thank you for uploading these!! I feel so deprived here in the States.

  • I second that! ^^

  • Wooohooow!! Thank you so much! I already feared the second series weren't going to be up here!
