  • Anyone know celtic rock bands that doesn't do the whole growl thing? I like celtic music and I like rock/metal, but I do not enjoy growl at all...

  • Suidakra \m/

  • Comment removed

  • isn't metal, but is a good celtic-rock song:

    avantasia - farewell

  • where Ensiferum?

  • eluveitie is Swedish not celtic

  • @thegothway They're from Switzerland: they're Swiss. Celtic is a style that was developed in Ireland, bands outside Ireland are influenced by the style, and thus are named Celtic Metal too.

  • @blackrook96 Celts weren't specifically from Ireland, but all over Europe.

  • @thegothway and the band off kilter is from tennesse usa and there celtic rock

  • Eluveitie is BEST!!!

  • no love for Skiltron?

  • @TAG037 I think Skiltron is absolutely inferior to most of these bands, indeed... The video is called "the best of celtic metal" :D

  • My dearest Arkona is missing, xD

  • Wonderful list of folk bands you have here. :D

  • this is a great list :)

I didn't know Crystal Moor nor Mael Mhorda. They rock...

PS: if you don't know them, you will like the italian band Furor Gallico :)

  • I truly hope this a list of the best, and not a list of all the ones you can name

  • love this

  • mmh you make good videos!

  • SuidAkrA \m/

But i miss Skiltron, Triddana and Cnoc an Tursa :D Ok the last 2 ones are not as old as the Video...

  • I just found more bands to add to my growing list to check out. Wonderous. Thank-you!

  • ohhhhhhhhh cool

  • @folklover haha, hey before I sighned up for youtube, I was gonna have a similar user name. (Folklore) But they gave me wolflore :P

  • I've alredy knew half of those. The other half awaits me! \m/

  • i hate singing in french

  • look up "inred serpents hold" awesome unknown epic heroic mystical folk metal

  • Fferylit is a folk/celtic metal band, and just because you dont like them doesnt mean thier not great metal band.

  • isn't Fferyllt a celtic/folk metal band? and are they not great? please correct me if I'm in any way wrong

  • great selection

  • Slovenski rock and Celtik rock are together!

  • @ArtzFret I second what uploader said.

  • Me like :D

    thanks man :D

  • @ArtzFret no men, tyr is more like scandinavian/viking metal

  • Comment removed

  • @ArtzFret actually Tyr is Progressive/Folk Metal and their lyrical theme is Norse Mythology, Paganism, Faroese/Nordic Lore

  • @twiztid526 BTW, I am not the one who asked why they aren't in the video, pay attention Juggalo.......

  • @folklover He probably was replying to ArtzFret,

Anyways Viking Metal is great, just like Celtic Metal.

  • @kalidontx yes it is cali, I'm also a huge fan of the Slavic metal scene, ARKONA are fucking amazing, Masha Scream is like the Bruce Dickinson of Slavic Pagan metal in a dress........

  • 8:50 sounds like black metal form Venom

  • @canadianshit212 Yep, not only am I a history major, But also the singer of the band Golden Axe, we were a more traditional/Thrash band, but dropped a couple members found a new drummer and guitarist and are auditioning a ladd that plays the Highland Pipes, Lowland smallpipes, tinwhistles, + a lass that is supposed to be an amazing electric violinist today. So we're going in a more CelticFolk history based "Battle Metal" direction, I can't post links here but look for our Fb page and old demo..

  • @canadianshit212 I do mate, most people don't recognize the cultures of Scandinavia as being a Germanic race, Teutonic is another all encompassing term as well, so yes I do know that, Sorry mate.

  • @canadianshit212 Its not even Germany dude, its a part of Denmark............They are Danes, beautiful Danes!

  • @folklover I was talking to azfret mate, sorry, not used to these comments, I spend my days covered in Woade paint hunting Stags and Praying to Cernnun for a plentiful hunt..........Seriously I wasn't talking to you , the @blah blah is confusing......

  • @folklover Tyr is a Viking Folk Metal band from the Faroese islands north of Denmark, All they sing about is Norse mythology, you are an Idiot, but, you do have good taste in music.

  • @GoldenAxeVox666 denmark is no where near ireland so a band from an island north of denmark would not be an irish celtic metal band moron

  • Waylander sounds like Alexi Laiho singing.

  • @ArtzFret Tyr is a Viking band from norway.

  • Comment removed

  • @narutofreak12312312 yeah i know, just got confused :S

  • @folklover

    I second your statement.

  • @ArtzFret Tyr is viking

  • @folklover I think you better rephrase that to "are you mentally incompetant or what?" just so they have to look what those two words mean in the dictionary.

    :D

  • Celtic Metal is just Folk metal xD

  • @Dropkickwalrus2 Celtic folk metal

  • I think you could include in this video, or in future videos, this band from Spain: Saurom. They are really good. For example this song: "La batalla con los cueros de vino".

I don't know if you listened to this other band, Mago de Oz, from Spain also. They both are the most popular celtic metal bands.

  • well done!! great post!

  • Content de voir qu'en France le VRAI METAL n'est pas mort!!!

  • Tennents, munters and deep fried mars bars FOREVER! Scotland, a true celtic nation!

  • Messe mach rhythm of wiccan? Ha nuts...

  • Is Eluveitie nicht gaulish = gällisch? oder sind die icht Celtic- Keltisch?

  • @HentaiFutziii123 Nicht ich pathos...

  • @HentaiFutziii123 If you are asking if Eluveitie are Gauls, you are correct, Gaul being the ancient occupied lands of the Celts that stretched from The Shetland islands all the way into Persia at one point.

  • @GoldenAxeVox666

Actually the term Gaul only ever referred to an area that's now occupied by France and small areas of the surrounding countries. Celts did at one time inhabit Asia Minor (Anatolia-- modern Turkey) but never Persia.

  • C'est un peu chiant tout les silence sinon c'est bien !! ;)

  • whats the name of the crystal moors song i cant finde it and i like it but i dont know the name

  • Folk , Finland and BEER forever...

  • How dare you skip Skiltron - By Sword and Sheild!!!

  • I can't believe you missed Skyclad. ;p

  • i love this :p

  • Keeps making vids like this, there a great way to discover new bands/songs

  • /wapereplaybutton

  • the dragon's sword will reign for ever!

  • like these guys? check out :pipapelli" if you want a trip! wix.com/pipapelli/home

  • @folklover if you include only european bands, say it.

If you say The Best Celtic Metal Bands, you say it in general

If you think that Belenos is more black that celtic, what about CrystalMoors? And Aes Dana? And Primordial? They are more black too :)

    My fail, is stribog :P

And if you dont put Minotaurus, ok, its your choice, but i think they are so great

You can see also this bands:

    myspace.com / azgardlord

    myspace.com / hanternoz

  • @MikelMetalYoung

Stribog are Croatians with a Slavic-language name who sing about Slavic mythology. I think the fact that they have a whistle player confuses you. None of their lyrics or music take any cues from traditional Celtic music ideologically or in terms of structure besides having a whistle.

  • @Metallicazack Well, its ok. But I refered to the music style, no lyrics influence. If we include the lyrics, its obvious that Stiborg it's not a celtic metal band. But in the other hand, I think that If a band have with a celtic influence in the lyrics and dont have any folk instruments like whistle, I would not define this like Celtic Metal.

  • And Belenos? And Stiborg? And Minotaurus? And Tuatha de Danann? And Celtachor? Cmon... :)

  • someone from cork who can help me with a song???????????

  • Is Suidakra better than Eluveitie? I hardly think so. I mean, Suidakra is a good band, but Eluveitie is fucking awesome! The perfect combination between traditional celtic music and melodic death metal.

  • what is the name of the last band?? o.o

  • @Gillisbleedingsmiles "Bran Barr"

  • Mael Mordha is the best on the list, in my opinion.

  • Metal, hot chicks & alcohol "wharever u want" FOREVER ;o)

  • @sullen309 THIS IS WHAT WE WANT!!!!!!!!!

  • @racist70 so.. enjoy brother ;) and enjoy properly loud

  • @Mattlarrivee there are more irish ones in this video than any other country

  • Самый великолепный жанр после фолка пэгана это-folk celtic и pagan epic metal

  • Самый великолепный жанр после фолка пэгана это-folk celtic и pagan epic metall

  • America, Big titted chicks and weed for ever!

  • 1:55 celtic castity sheld

  • I wouldn't call Eluveitie celtic. I'd say Gaulish.

  • @LastOfTheWilds920 Agree.

  • @LastOfTheWilds920 The Gauls were the real original celts. We derive the word from the name that the Romans gave to the Gauls of central France, an area they called Celtica.

  • @Nightcreature12

true. we call the mainland Celts Hallstadt Celts because of the origins in Switzerland and Austria. However the Bretons are Brythonic Celts, because they were on the British Isles before they left for Brittany. Us (Irish), the Highland Scots, and the Manx are Goidelic Celts, our ancestral languages are very similar. Once I started recording celtic metal songs they're going to be in Irish, as they should be. Support the effort to restore the Celtic languages! ár dteangacha féin!

  • @imwhitedabadee

I would love to hear metal in the Irish language. I wanted to learn it but being I'm american it would be pointless to learn it. Although I haven't learned the very practical Spanish yet either so I suppose it's just because I'm lazy. lol Tá mé an fear!

  • @folklover That's fair enough but I've heard some of Cruachan's music and would say that Horslips are heavier than them. Indeed, Horslips are one of their main influences.

  • Why aren't Horslips on your list?

  • 6 Are spanish.

  • @danielll342

    Dead man's reel

  • Personally, I am fond of Skiltron. Masterful bagpipes, flutes, heavy metal, and a vocalist with a Ronnie James Dio (may he rest in peace) style. They're worth checking out if you ask me.

  • whats the song from suidakra?

  • Glad that ALL the French haven't forgotten the Celtic past.

  • not all Irish people have red hair in Irish and i don't have red hair lol

  • @davidrocks17 The reason why some Irish peoples have red hair is because of their Viking ancestors but the typical irsh has dark or brunette :D

  • @anival2sorto I'm Irish and I'm brunette but if you say you are Irish people think you must have red hair lol

  • @davidrocks17 Lol my Girlfriend is Irish and i am not like most idiotic peoples who think only Irish peoples have red hair xD

  • @anival2sorto Well, actually, all people who have red hair are of some Irish or Scottish descent.

  • @j0nj0n3697 I know that but the majority of Irish individuals have brunette or dark hair :)

  • @anival2sorto Yes, they do, but this is simply about all people with red hair being irish descent. : )

  • @j0nj0n3697 Lol ;)

  • @j0nj0n3697 That is the age old debate isn't it? Did the Celts invade the Vikings before the vikings invaded the Celts? Hell, technically the Celts are originally from what is now Germany. I give up on tracking all this craziness! Lol.

  • @ShadesFE3S Well, the Celts were living more in central Europe and Ireland and England whereas the Vikings were living in the Scandinavian countries. Vikings were barbaric merchants, warriors, explorators as to the celts were a whole population, not just a certain amount of people. I think both ended with the start of Monarchy and Christianisation(if I can call it like that).

The Vikings did raid the celts more than a few times but nobody actually invaded anyone.

Hails to Folk and Celtic music!

  • agree

  • thanks for this video,it helped alot on findind some great bands..thumbs up...

  • well they were motherlands and it would make sense if it would be a land of immigrants like Canada and usa

  • ok only bands 3 6 7 10 or Celtic which is Irish my culture but the others have the Celtic style but aren't from Celtic lands so they aren't Celtic they are just rip offs

  • @protecter77 just because you don't hail from a Celtic country doesn't mean your forefathers didn't

  • @protecter77 actualy france is a Celtic land as well the gauls where celts aswell

  • @zjanggurup at one time so was England, Scottland, Icland and Greenland As well as parts of Norway Sweedan, And the Netherlands.
