  • Art community and investments aside, I would like to say that I personally find many of Pollock's paintings to be pleasurable to look at (hence why I'm here). Of course not all of them are going to be great, but many of them are quite good to me. It's not for everyone, especially for younger people or those who simply don't care about artistic expression. I know that when I was younger I thought this all was a sham too, but I guess that time and experience just changed my perception on things.

  • I like the paintings at 0:54,1:24, 3:47 a lot. I can't say that I like all of Pollock's paintings. Maybe just five percent of his paintings are master pieces in my opinion. But most artist go their whole life without producing any world class master pieces weahter they are singers, directors, or painters(drafters or free form). I do not think that Pollock progressed all the the way. He went far but he hit plateau.

  • I don't think the soundtrack is particularly good. Dead Can Dance would have been better, but I like the presentation all the same.

  • this is brilliant imo but mind boggling as well, there's so much everytime i look at it.

  • GREAT VIDEO BY THE WAY, THANK YOU

  • Ok Dali SURREALISM Picasso CUBISM pollock Abstract expressionism , what is there not to understand? Ignorance I DONT understand that.. READ. These GREAT artists and the people that understand and feel art are evolved , the ignorant ones are yet to! THAT I completely understand which is why Im a good artist. The others prefer to be content with their routine life a normality. Us artists have seen past that and are on another level.

  • I could never understand what people see in Pollock, Picasso or Dali.....but especially Pollock. To me, a lot of it looks like pre-school kids nonsense.

  • @Howardw007 Now, I love all their works, but I understand where you don't see what people see in Picasso or Pollock. Now...Salvador Dali...He is literally the best surrealist painter. He could practically juxtapose any irrational attribute on to a realistic thing and made it look amazing. :O

  • What's the name of the on at 7:20?

  • Great video - good selection of his works!

  • ~_~

  • When an artist still provoke people almost 60 years after his death, then you know he is truly great.

  • Brave...genial artist...Jackson Pollock is the best....

  • Watch and see how closet idiots get offended when i post this messsage. People who clearly have no artistic taste OR appreication for the arts comment stupidly in their ignorance to real art.

Now i'm just going to sit back and watch the fireworks.

  • genius... thanx, nice vid

  • @VicodinAddicted Thanks a bunch, very much appreciated.

  • @VicodinAddicted The painting at 5:08 is the better piece of art I had even seen in my live. I really like it.

  • @panamanubian Yes! 'The Moon Woman', 1942. It's one of my all times faves. :-)

  • bull shit

    pure bull shit

  • @Oddonan Are you referring to Pollock's work or just about the video in general?

  • @lazyconquistador

    Pollock's work

  • @Oddonan Alrighty then.

  • @Oddonan what a jerk

  • @Oddonan You just don´t understand It´s like Japanese for you...If you knew about art, you would have never opened your mouth to say something so stupid, this is spiritual art.

  • @Oddonan excactly...total rubbish....i would not trust my kids to a guy who paints like that.....i love gowing to art galaries and blastig the shit out of the bs they spew....give me a canvas some paint and brushes and i can give you a painting every 20 minutes or so if not faster....i will give them titles too.....what a fucking joke this is

  • @afaf233

It's hard for me to believe that anyone actually likes these paintings, I think it's all just a big bandwagon where people are afraid to say it's crap in fear of being ridiculed by the rest of the art community (who are also afraid to say it's crap)

  • @Oddonan oh yes the art community is a well organised mafia and its in thier interest to say the art is good so that they can sell and make money and commissions and once an artist catches on they pump the bs up real good to make money knowing that they have hit jackpot seeing so many diots belive in the lies....its a good con...its the second best con to the age old business of fortune telling and propstitution....

  • @Oddonan the art is in selling something for a lot of money that is not worth anything but there is enough idiots out there willing to participte in the pyramid scam of making a bum make millions....its not art if anyone one vcan do it...and everyone is very capable of scribbling total nonsense on a canvas and call itb a work of art...

  • @Oddonan i dont give a flying fuck about any art community, in fact, i hate people who claim to be artists, yet I think that Pollock´s works are outstanding. Your glorious logic failed.

  • @RatafakTehPlachta

you think painting made by drunken man and anyone can do it is outstanding and you want to talk about logic with you?

The art community they are the one decided that they put crappy arts in book history.

  • @Oddonan I dont think that anybody is capable of doing this. First of all, he came up with the idea. With the technique. Something new. And second of all, he very well knew what he was doing. The paintings are (at least for me) aesthetically very fulfilling. Not because I want to be interesting or because I am scared to be shat on by some fucking pseudointellectuals. I simply like them. They are alive, vivid, imaginative. End of story.

  • @Oddonan your a little behind the curve.

  • song is I Know It's You by The Crystal Method

  • writing an essay on dude due tomorrow

  • @DoomCity202 Ha, that should be fun. Have some fun with it by arguing that his achoholism was one of the major driving forces behind his creativity. In the least your teacher will respect the attempt at orginality because its different than all the other boring and predictable papers by other students.
