They are taking the pi*s out of british actresses that go to hollywood and get what's called a mid-atlantic accent. She talks on the phone in an American accent and then in an English accent when she's speaking to Patsy. It is part of the joke duh!

Minnie's movies are okay, she's much better as a comedic actress though. which she's just now starting to get into. HOWEVER, I love her two CD's. she's got a gorgeous voice and she writes amazing songs. "Stars And Sattelites" and "Beloved" from her new "Seastories" release are top notch
