After WW2, Jews stopped believing in God and made a religion out of the holocaust. The idea of visiting a holocaust museum is repugnant to me as I have no interest in seeing pictures of dead people tacked up for everyone to see. Millions of people lost family under Hitler, but they didn't make a religion out of it. They quietly buried their dead and moved on with their lives in dignity.

I know who wouldn't oppose a doctrine of exceptional suffering... Christians believe that Jesus suffered so greatly that he paid (to whom? since he's also God) for everyone's sins, and doubting this is so big a heresy that is paid by burning in hell for eternity. Point is Christ was made man. So he suffered from all the afflictions that could beset man. Pain, humiliation, doubt, especially self-doubt. It took time for Him to come to realise He was God, and to accept it. So in dying, He also could have chosen, like any man, a different path. But He chose to go with the path that He had come for, to be crucified and to die as a man, feeling all the pain of normal men.
