  • This was my jam when i was in high-school back in the day.

  • i was 15 or so when this hit. it was a beautiful thing..i didn't really realize how so at the time. but looking back on it, the X wasn't the only group serving up fresh knowledge...you actually had a choice. As a people, or i should say, as a genre called hip-hop, we are so much weaker. I would almost say as a people as well...our focus is more materialistic than ever. I'm bringing this back. As God is my witness. Heed the words of a Brother!

  • @98SLABRIDER Not the only...Paris, Poor Righteous Teachers, Wise Intelligent, Public Enemy, Krs One, Professor Griff, Jungle Brothers, Brand Nubian just to name a few.

  • @caddy1010 yes, i know. i don't think i said X-Clan was the only ones?? Did I???

  • this album should go down as one of the greatest hip hop records of ALL TIME

  • This song actually used Paliament's "Flash Light" and Zapp & Roger's "More Bounce to the Ounce".

  • @MakoCrush I meant When i was a kid.

  • DAMN, TAKES ME BACK YO 1990

  • Native people have taught non natives about creation on tis side of the world and blacks taught europeans thier story thru slavery , via the new world

  • "If anyone in here knows their spiritual planes, then they know they were born not of this world first, but into this world!" This is the middle playing field since separation...eye am God in Training...and eye claimed it from birth...with sight--meaning to see before comes to pass...eye have always watched as an over seer knowing how great God truly is. Any knowledge you have came from God's love first and grace. All else are simply truths within each dimensional purpose just as light serves

  • Conscious hip hop!!!! This was the golden era of hip hop and rap period!!!!!! Today stuff, unless underground, cannot match. A constant message which made you think and move at the same time. Whether you agree with all that was said, it does not matter it made you think!!!. That is the purpose open your mind and think and challenge, peace!

  • what exactly is pink caddy symbolic of? brother j is always talking about it, is it like when brother j an older God takes younger spirits or gods on tours of heaven or hell,to the moon.( its just my imagination :)) anyway im trying to spiritually advance and i take the ascension process seriously.

  • I miss this I remember when it came out. We need more music like this. nothing to make us come together.

  • The last time i tried to find X Clan on the net........it was impossible. It was like no one had ever heard of them. I'm pleased to see that they are here now. They are awesome!!

  • The whole album is f'n legendary, wish i was back in 1990 :(

  • EPMD You Gots Ta Chill (original: More Bounce To The Ounce by Zapp--The break is Flashlight from Parliament)

  • didnt someone else use diz song 2???

  • It was the last beat in Ice Cube's Jackin' For Beats

  • yeah i kno but i think another rapper used it 2

  • @youngace777 yea

  • @youngace777

sample from zapp & roger : "more bounce to the once"

it's been used by Geto Boys "Homie don't play that", EPMD "You Gots to Chill" & Ice Cube "Jackin's for Beats"

and a similar sample by Zapp & Roger "So Ruff, so tuff" has been used by Ice Cube again in "How to Survive in South Central"

  • @youngace777 Zapp & Roger - More Bounce To The Ounce the original..

  • @youngace777 original beat done by zapp and rodger, then sampled by epmd in u gots ta chill, then these guys, then cube

  • @youngace777 EPMD, MC Breed, Cube among others. Original is Zapp More Bounce to the Ounce.

  • Ah yeah, wearing Cross Colours and them leather africa medallions, and a big flattop, with the "Big Daddy Kane" slits cut in the eyebrow..Yall remember.!!!!!!

  • 1:31 in the song- "The ever tangled web we weave, always trying to obtain, no attempt to achieve." These words have never been truer today. This is what Hip Hop has become. Time for artists to take it back to the essence

  • whoop whoop

  • FUCK DA POLICE!

  • Yo dis is 1 of dem songs dat truly DEFINES OLD SCHOOL RAP. And we all know Old School is da true school of Rap.

  • Daym!!!! this was the shit back in the day i was in like 9th grade bumping this in my room! My old Pico days. L.A stand up!!!!!

  • I always thought Brother J and Krs1 would've teamed up on a track I don't know why???

  • They did on poor righteous teachers album "new world order "1996

  • Would you just so happend know the name of the song? Maybe I can find it here on Youtube.

  • my bad they were on the same new world order album not same song. last summer they both were in the same concert .

  • Kush or Cush was the beginning of the Nile River civilizations..the beginning of civilization period. Cush was also the grandson of Noah. please see the meaning..it has something to do with dark skinned people. their pyramids predate the Giza pyramids by at least 500 years. not that egypt stole anything..it was the same civilization that simply expanded and integrated into northern lower egypt. please heed the word of a brotha.

    C. BALL

  • All life began around Mesopotamia there is just a couple of Hundred Thousands of years betrween us!

  • think before you speak you silly mortal you. while mesopotamia was part of the fertile crescent which extended from present day lower egypt to present day iraq/iran, the oldest homosapien bones (or at least ancestoral) were discovered...where??? of course, Africa..

    C. BALL

  • All continents were One, with Africa being a central continent as it is even today. But for you to state that your race, with a extended cocic bone and an extra muscle in your rectus fermoris, are superior is almost laughable. Please. You cant hide from your DNA pal and your DNA doesnt lie or fib based on the teaching of Elijah Muhammed

  • Selasse was an Ethiopian and his heritage embodies the walking gene of Jesus of Nazareth. To me this is an undeniable fact but I dont proclaim to be Superior. Just when you think you've gotten it all figured out just remember someone here is smarter than you!

  • someone here smarter than me? no shit? who? surely you aren't referring to yourself. in any case, you want to talk about something laughable..the teachings of Elijah Muhammed. that sir, is laughable.

  • Nigga fuck you. Kush? The only kush you've seen is that bullshit your homey brought you from San Diego...Please muthafucka. Admit your post Darwinisim evolution and I'll admit that God has no color. You see it aint that hard.

  • hmmm...nigga? really? the only true nigga here is your ignorant ass. and this is knowledge: When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

that beautiful biblical verse mr. trey "just broke up i'm single again" martin3334 is why i won't even honor your reply. grow up chap with your corny ass....i can't stand internet hard heads.

    C. BALL

  • Your name says it all. For some reason you feel inadequate enough to make sure that all of us Youtubers were aware that you had a so-called Slab, eh? Nigga is the best word to fit your dumb ass...Cell phone bill but yet no college tuition savings accounts for those many offspring you've conspired to adulteriously bring onto this planet and yet you chide with a Bible verse.

    Funny indeed Nigga!!!!

  • Fascinating how this talk reminds me of a certain Mr. A. Hitler. Circa 1933. an then some! Teachings!? Ha!

  • anything that someone of color in this country has learned is from a white mans perspective how to talk, dress, treat women, how to relate to other human beings, north and south, when u listen to this u must have that understanding and black people have no capacity or urge to attempt something of the magnitude or even a minute it is a call for self esteem and actualiztion in this world. I think this was something u needed to hear..... i mean no harm

  • kof24, you are ignorant without afican history which u hate to learn. plato and all of the ohter so called great greek teachers would not know left from right. so dnt hate on the birth of creation. go to ur bible thats if u believe in one

  • Read Ali Mazri and Franz Fanon these are black scholarsefeected by colonialism who are both of African descent

  • "Correction" all things were taught, even to a white man. The first being on this physical plane was sent here to carry burden and pain do to its vanitous and unrighteous thinking...airgo why the term reflects as a blue eyed devil! The world in its continual evolution since being separated from God had to relearn the truth...which continued to be hidden as knowledge is power and of course since we are all sinners...power remained with those who could lie and cheat the best. Never personal..

  • TRUTH SPOKEN HERE

  • I don't proclaim to know what God thinks. I don't think he saw in black and white, or blue vs brown eyes. Methinks God is love and all inclusive, not hate and separation. Peace all my brothers and sisters of all creeds, sex and color of skin. Truth is love. Vanglorious.

  • I'm raising a blue eyed son. He is only a devil part of the time. Power is in all of us, when you blame others for your situation in life you relinquish your power.

  • @TheJasonFreeman Let your son's blue eyes serve as a reminder of your descent from the peak of heaven to the debts of hell. the black women is a GODDES and mother of civilization.

  • You may be interested in "NUBIA". There pyramids predate Egypts. Egypt is made up of three different empires. Nubia being one of them.

  • I try to tell yall we won't get back until we tell radio and the record execs we don't want to hear this garbage out today. We went from tellin dudes to stop talkin bout drugs and guns to them makin sure only those kinda dudes get signed.Them same people don't want anything positive in hip-hop because the audience is so vast now.I'm from the 80's hip-hop wasn't this big, now they want to control it, keep us partying and singing while they slip in NWO.Watch brotha Jay on Hip-Hop Official Intvw.

  • The current state of rap music can be summed up as being corporate-rap. That`s who`s dictating to all the media formats(radio, television, and magazines)who to give exposure to. These artists gave their power away by crossing over to the money instead of vice-versa. Now the art-form has been negatively portrayed. It won`t die,it just won`t get the exposure it used to get now that there is a certain style of rap dominating the pop-charts. X-Clan are still in effect. So that`s proof right there.

  • Wow. They are talking like the Zeitgeist and this was back in the 90s. Go XCLAN!!!!!! Educate them my brothers!

  • what it the Guitar chord sample in this song? I know that the other sample is Parliment

  • The Smurf by Tyrone Brunson

  • The other cord U hear is, Zapp-More bounce to the Ounce.

  • After watching this, I have one question: WHO STOLE THE SOUL?? We have went from black awareness to Hip Hop IS DEAD MUSIC> X-CLAN Dropped Science. Can we get it back?

  • only if an entity from the 4th realm can exsist within this 3d world, which in itself is a paradox.

but ive been known to come through in a clutch

so hold tight HELP IS ON THE WAY

    KNOWLEDGE SHALL TRIUMPH ONCE MORE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This was one of my first "rap albums." I was a "whitey" and played the tape from one side to the other. I'm now 32 years old, still enjoy it and find the responses on this video very disheartening.

That is if they can. If there isn't a pack of angsty sheep throwing sht at them. Scared whitey will call m names based on blingbling video clips.

Whitey will harras you with or without us making a point.

    JayJBee

"Support a brother. Look for those that you can support if these little waynes oppose your view."

  • Whitey will harras you with or without us making a point......

that doesnt mean you have to make garbage music. LOL

  • Then... To who would you address the points you make?

Don't tell me you can't see no other way then to show whitey your teeth and dance to make him happy and comfortable...

    JayJBee

  • Name anybody from the 2000's who can drop a rap that causes you to think . Can't think of anyone? Didn't think you could. This was back when rap carried a message. When it was actually music! Now the music doesn't tell a story and its all about hoes, clubs, and maybachs

  • True dat. (I concur.)

  • A true classic! They were in a class by themselves!

  • Damn, that's still funky...

  • This album is an Untalked about Classic....
