Spindler played it great, but it only worked because gomes played very loose, so gomes could actually think that he would play the same with some kind of middle pair like 55-99. @spencerculver he's guessing the preflop raiser has AA KK QQ TT or AK/AQ and will definitely c-bet most flops, and by showing his own strength he expects to take away the possibility of a Jack in his hand in the mind of his opponent.

My guess is he thought "if he's got AK/AQ I better get more chips from him on the flop, since he'll fold a missed turn" or something like that. Ideal situation he's against AA/KK/QQ and busts his opponent, but he knows a lot of the time flop is the end of action.

You guys all say Spindler played it brilliantly, but that's because we can see Gomes' cards. The ONLY WAY Gomes would make those calls is with pocket K's A's and maybe Q's and Benny had no clue what he actually had so smaller bets would keep Gomes calling, and thus if he actually had pocket A's or K's Gomes would eventually push all-in anyways. So let's say Gomes actually had AK, he most likely would have been scared out eventually after hitting nothing but a high ace.

I dont know how 2 people can say he played it badly. I want to hear a reason for that. If you dont put him on a jack, then he has the best hand. Its real easy to put him on a pocket pair, which I believe is what he put him on. Easy to say he played it badly. The aggression Spindler showed was excellent. You have pocket aces in the same situation and have someone raise you on a flop like that. Good god, that was a tough situation, and doomed from the start.
