I think the director's editing was just fine. and as far as things not making sense, that's nonsense. the gnome king and his scout made it pretty clear they are scared of chickens.. then we find out the eggs are poison to them. Anyone who doesn't understand, probably watched the free version with commercials. Rent the DVD and it's fine.

I am really glad that you uploaded these,i have loved this movie and the music,I wonder why they cut so much out of the film. It doesn't make sense

Even though these are from a rough cut, it's interesting how some of these matte-shots (painted backdrops) are almost entirely different from the final film!

I actually prefer this version of Dorothy getting the Ruby Slippers back (which has Great music and better pacing) than the final film on the DVD . . . and the Coronation DEFINITELY should have been kept! (though having the final film's shots too)

The Tin Woodman has a much better voice here than he does in the end (final film).
