sounded like a couple wrong notes but its just about right man awesome job. much better than the other vids. if only i had a camera and did it myself...lol 5* tho
Yo, there are a shit load of dudes with their solo of santaria up on myspace and so far yours is the best. You've got the timing right and the "feel" down. Any decent guitar player can learn the notes but its all about how you play them. You've got the stuff kid!
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has enjoyed the video...I'd like to think I made a decent vid so that you all can learn the solo yourself.
This is def the most accurate solo cover Ive found. Good job mate, you play it so effortlessly! I have learn it for our band to play.
Best tab Ive found matching this vid is:
/s/sublime/santeria-solo-ver2-21547 (put guitarboard dot com at the front and put .php at back of address)
Only thing I changed is at the end of the tab, that last little bend, 11br-9-11-9 on the third string. I bend it on the second string 7br-5-7-5, so you're nicely in place for the next chord back in the main riff.
yo Boblp, nice work man, btw are u playing the strings open before hammer onning from the 2 to the 4 on the E, A, and D during that little run up half way through the solo? ive been looking at tabs and they say to play the strings open each time before the hammer ons , but i tried that and it sounds awful for some reason
hey very nice .. i see that u only used your pinky like once.. do you use your pinky or was that just for this solo? i use my pinky a lot when i play.
thank you. this solo if you really look at the fingering i play it in (i don't know of any better one), there is only one note the pinky can play. all others are in the right position with the way i played it. i normally do use my pinky quite a bit, coming from a jazz background.
i am looking for a new guitar. should i get an epiphone les paul standard or a mexican made fender strat. i have been playing for about a year and a half and need a new guitar. thanks.
don't get into the habit of asking others what you should purchase. Decide what factors are important to you (sound, feel, weight, price, features), play each guitar and decide which you feel is best for you...ignore reviews. Both are basic intermediate guitars so the general reliability should be similar. These guitars can be inconsistent in quality so personally i would want to actually play the guitar that was going to be bought.
i have both of these guitars... and i can say i like them equally... depends on the genre u mostly play, blues / rock i like the strat... but the epiphone definately has more power for heavy metal, but can also sounds bluesy and rocky too, where as i found the fender weak for thick, heavy distortion... personally though, i dont think much can touch a single fender neck pickup for blues... hope this helped u... good luck
i started taking lessons 6 months after beginning and i started studying it in school almost two years ago (sorry i accidentally removed the comment trying to reply)
the amp is carvin Belair, 2 12's, 50 watts. GREAT amp for clean tube sound, sounds alot like vintage fenders. the overdrive channel is good for blues and classic rock stuff.
That's awsome man. You are really good. I've been playing for about 2-3 years and i am no where near as good as you lol. What other guitars do you have?
I still own my first guitar, a squire something or other, an Epiphone LP standard (converted into a slide guitar), An Ovation acoustic/electric (dont know the model name), and an Ibanez Af105f. thank you for the compliment. It just takes practice, anybody can become as good as they want...it just take time
I don't use tabs but I was planning on making a short video, slowing it down alot to show how to play it...I'll post that later tonight. Or if you can read standard notation I could send you that
what kind of guitar is that and how did you learn this?

NANANAKUNAMA 5 years ago
That guitar is a Gibson Les Paul Classic, double cutaway. It's a great guitar and it's a shame that its now out of production.

Lucky you. It sounds amazing, even threw the speakers. What kind of amp are you useing?

It sounds awsome. How much approximatly did it cost?
NANANAKUNAMA 5 years ago
the amp was just under 700, can only be ordered direct from carvin.
