thanks a lot...do you think padded insoles will help with the lack of padding in them. i wanted to buy them but sometimes i like to go for drops (not consistently but sometimes) and i wanted to be safe
The padding mostly helps me when I'm walking around. I need the arch support because I'm pretty flat-footed. Insole padding will not help with drops. The only thing that will keep you safe when going for drops is proper landing technique and rolling.

Well, just remember that you can always buy a pair of Alien Glow Freerunners. They use the same rubber, but they've got more padding and support. I think they're cheaper, too.
Support or cushioning? They're both pretty minimal. You'll have some problems if you've got low arches, but I figured out that the insoles are not sewed onto the shoe. The adhesive that holds them to the bottom of the shoe can just be pulled off. That means that you should be able to fit any kind of support insole in there if you need to.
we actually have a Red rock climbing shoe called the Moccasym that is well know for leaching dye... the difference there is no one wears socks with climbing shoes... you see a lot of Red feet at climbing gyms and boulder fields LOL.
also that is the answer to your question on Daescent sizing being off by a half a size... it was designed as a climbing shoe... no socks.
are these better then the k swiss ariakes?

Different rubber.
The alien glow is a complete re-working of the original freerunner... in fact Alien glow is just the color.. the shoe is actually the Freerunner V2...
we changed lots of little things on it, including using the Mystique rubber found ont he daescent over the Phantom used on the Original Freerunner.
