  • My I post these on a Facebook to share?

  • @prettylily00 You may post it in its entirety and as long as you link back to this channel. Thanks.

  • Hey thanks so much for the lessons. They are very good introductory tools, and are quite helpful refreshers for me, who once began to learn the Hebrew language. Just out of curiosity--and no offense intended--do you have a preferred theory of the pronunciation of Ha-Shem? JHVH? or YHWH? or something else? Just wondering. Thanks.

  • I really find this useful - Also your voice is amazing, very nice to listen to.

  • Question. When writing a name in Hebrew Which letters should be used in replacement of a W? How is a W sound written?

  • @SCORNDOGGMELACH

Generally, if you want a "W" sound in Hebrew you use the Vav. There is some indication (and some still use it this way) that the vav should really be sounded out as a "W".

  • Just to say big thank you for this video its really been a big help.

Its g8 how you explain the alpehbet using english words.

  • @marleykitten2010

I am glad you found it useful.

  • @marleykitten2010

    Thank you for watching.

  • tav without a dagesh is "th" as in thistle.

  • for people just learning its not a big deal but this is very ashkenazi / yiddish influenced pronunciation(im one myself) i don't consider this to be "biblical"

  • @z1e2v1

It is only "biblical" in the sense that people can learn to read the Tanach in the original language. That is all I am attempting to do.

  • @becomingjewishorg

I didn't mean anything by it.

  • @z1e2v1

Okay. I am sorry that I got upset. I have just heard that kind of comment too many times.

  • @becomingjewishorg

i think i wrote that because I had just come across one of the black israelite movement videos "explaining" the real pronunciation for the "real hebrews" So my bad

  • @z1e2v1

Yes, I understand what you are talking about. From everything I have read and heard, the Yemenite pronunciation is probably the closest we can get to the original pronunciation of Hebrew. I am working on learning that dialect but it is not easy.

  • @z1e2v1

man, those black "hebrew israelites" are quite a tenacious group, aren't they? I have never come across a group of people so fiercely committed to their hypothetical (and very unlikely!) ethnic origins.

  • wow this is one of the hardest lanuage ever even thought my native language is the sister language of hebrew its still hard

  • Once you dive into it, it isn't as hard as you may think. The important thing is just to keep learning and keep practicing. :)

  • great job!keep up the good work!!!

    תודה
