2:11 thoose 3 pictures/guys could be in a freaking movie and i do NOT mean their costumes but their expressions... dead serious, but without being even 1% lame or out of place-like. Thats how youll know if someones a good LARPer, if they are capable of finding just the perfect role for who they are in real life :) all in all this arrengement seems very nicely done and good-looking 5/5 for both vid and costumes.
I was all set to make fun of these guys but it looks like they had fun and no one was hurt so who am I to criticise. I'd like to go see something like this someday.

Not to mention Dutch, Italian, Polish and Americans. It is becoming quite the multinational larp. I do have to add that I speak both German and English next to my native Dutch, so International larping is no problem for moi.

Was wollt ihr nur alle mit euren Halbelfen-Kreationen? Is nich persönlich gemeint, aber das is so Anfänger-Style...kommt irgendwie peinlich (nochmals sorry, nich böse gemeint!) Erinnert mich an die Jan P. Story (gebt's mal hier in youtube ein). so von wegen "ich bin Taran Nightfire, gesegneter Drachenkrieger von den Darkwolves" und so (am besten noch drittel elfisch, drittel Ork, drittel Vampir...*kotz* ihr versteht schon...)
Ich habe auch schon sehr genervte Äußerungen über Anfänger-Waldläufer gehört. Aber es ist eben das einfachste. Waldläufer, weil man sich soviel weiterentwickeln kann und sich die Meisten wenig Gedanken über ihr vorheriges Leben machen müssen. Und Halbelf, weil man wenig Gewandung braucht, die das hervorhebt und weils in die Sache bissl Pepp bringt. Aber wenn man sich gut drauf vorbereitet, kann man da aber auch das Anfänger Image loswerden, z.B. durch gutes Ausspielen usw.
Bei 3:45 SO seh ich mal aus wenn ichh älter bin :D Mach auch Waldläufer Elfe. Naja. Ich bin Halbelfe, aber ich bekomm auch genau die gleiche Frisur. Die und ich, wir sehen uns irgendwie sehr ähnlich :)
That's just silly. here in Sweden anyone can attend. And in denmark, that has over 100 000 active LARPers most of them are between 12 and 17, here it's a bit of a family thing. My advise: start small, bring your friends togeter and and do one day LARPs of about 15-20 people and let it grow from there as you gain a platform and experience, don't be afraid to ask for help from more experienced LARPers or people in the SCA.

We don't get somewhere in life doing acting in a medieval fantasy setting a few times a year, because most of us have jobs or are students. This is something called 'a hobby' and is a type of freestyle acting that is fun.
It is interesting to note you completely ignore any proof given to you that there are kids in these things and they must have spawned from someone there, plus the large amount of females hanging round with the males. I'm surprised you came to so many shallow conclusions.
It's depend how much you can build for yourself, just a great helmet cost around 200$ and I built my for only 20! So you see the different prizes but you need the tools and patience to work on your things. But agreed with you what ya meaning.

A quick question, if I may?
What are the rules regarding face protection in LARP? I've noticed few fighters were wearing helms, and yet spears, and other potentially dangerous weapons were around.
I'm an SCAdian myself, but run a private group at home, which, while doesn't follow many rules, forces helms on people, the majority of which would rather not use them. Thanks in advance.
Wel LARP is a whole other thing then sca fighting eum it's much safer mostly we were helmets just the dress up to let it look more realistiq in larp there are manny rules like youre not permitted to hit someone in the face, that's one of the manny rules in larp, larp is not alone about the fighting but it's mostly the acting
youre hits are counted up with how much armour you have, like a chainmail helps for 1 point extra leather helps 1 point more etc everything that can help you in real battles or something that you can use for protection and that is counted up to a score but it's a bit complicated to tell you this here treu mail,texting, it mostly depends of the community's you larp with :)
Armouring is actually fairly easy, I've taught myself. Really, the only difficult part is finding patterns, which you can find in abundence at the armour archive (google it if you're interested), or make your own.

Every temperature is perfect for LARP :) We have an event on each winter, this year we were lucky, it was about 5-6 Celsius, but in 2008 it was very low (about -2 - -3 Celsius :P). It was cold in a 15 century costume, but my armor kept me warm :D
I kinda agree, but 30+ °C is just too much. Many people had problems with tose high temperatures, I'm glad that so many paramedics were on duty.
I think that cold temperatures are far more bearable; you can just wear much stuff stacked (or wear heavy armor ;-) ). As long as it is not raining, I prefer cold weather.

We don't get somewhere in life doing acting in a medieval fantasy setting a few times a year, because most of us have jobs or are students. This is something called 'a hobby' and is a type of freestyle acting that is fun.
It is interesting to note you completely ignore any proof given to you that there are kids in these things and they must have spawned from someone there, plus the large amount of females hanging round with the males. I'm surprised you came to so many shallow conclusions.

It's depend how much you can build for yourself, just a great helmet cost around 200$ and I built my for only 20! So you see the different prizes but you need the tools and patience to work on your things. But agreed with you what ya meaning.

Nicely made and edited there, of all the LARP videos, I'd definitely say this is one of the best I've seen.
A quick question, if I may?
What are the rules regarding face protection in LARP? I've noticed few fighters were wearing helms, and yet spears, and other potentially dangerous weapons were around.
I'm an SCAdian myself, but run a private group at home, which, while doesn't follow many rules, forces helms on people, the majority of which would rather not use them. Thanks in advance.

Wel LARP is a whole other thing then sca fighting eum it's much safer mostly we were helmets just the dress up to let it look more realistiq in larp there are manny rules like youre not permitted to hit someone in the face, that's one of the manny rules in larp, larp is not alone about the fighting but it's mostly the acting

that counts and the fighting is just a piece of that. Me and some guys do LARP and fight quite like sca but that's not allowed in manny events ;)
grtz + the weapons are coverd with foam and latex so they don't hurt so much but still sometimes they can hurt bad ^^

You dont hit the Headits not allowed. The Weapons are make with an
Glass Fever stick with latex arount thats normaly not hurts.
Sometimes you became in the head of the fight one at your head but its hurts but you have normaly no real wounds.

youre hits are counted up with how much armour you have, like a chainmail helps for 1 point extra leather helps 1 point more etc everything that can help you in real battles or something that you can use for protection and that is counted up to a score but it's a bit complicated to tell you this here treu mail,texting, it mostly depends of the community's you larp with :)
and in larping you can make youre own

I'm from North-East England.
Armouring is actually fairly easy, I've taught myself. Really, the only difficult part is finding patterns, which you can find in abundence at the armour archive (google it if you're interested), or make your own.

Every temperature is perfect for LARP :) We have an event on each winter, this year we were lucky, it was about 5-6 Celsius, but in 2008 it was very low (about -2 - -3 Celsius :P). It was cold in a 15 century costume, but my armor kept me warm :D

I kinda agree, but 30+ °C is just too much. Many people had problems with tose high temperatures, I'm glad that so many paramedics were on duty.
I think that cold temperatures are far more bearable; you can just wear much stuff stacked (or wear heavy armor ;-) ). As long as it is not raining, I prefer cold weather.
