Man I am late on commenting on this, I never got a chance to ride the PCH, I wish I would have, but I never had the time just too busy with work and getting ready to get out of the Navy at the time. I did enjoy my travels while I lived there.

Yeah, I remember in the winter in Lemoore it gets windy, I was riding at like a 25 degree angle because of the wind at times haha. Yeah I figure the PCH would have traffic like that, it's a big place for people to do vacation and what not. I want to do a ride on skyline drive this fall when the leaves start to change color, should be very nice

ah, i see :/ I'm 17 and currently in the USNSCC. I was going to go to an airman training at Lemoore this summer, but I had certain schedule restrictions that didn't allow me to go. I'm planning on going into the Navy next year myself after high school. I'm trying to get an NROTC scholarship first, but if I cant get it I'm going to enlist. Either way, I'll be saying hello to the Seabee community by the end of 2010.

I was in the Navy ROTC in HS, it got my E-3 and that's about all it did, good luck with the Seabee's those guys go to the killbox quite a bit, also advancement last time I heard was still very difficult, at least beyond E-5 it was. Not sure now. My advice is choose a job that will apply in the civilian job market. I see a lot of IS (Intel) jobs on the outside, and also IT jobs. There are no jobs for what I did in the Navy here where I live. So keep that in mind, be smart about the job you pick.

Yeah, the NSCC does the advanced E-3 rate deal too, and now if you make PO1 there's also a chance you could even enlist as E-4 depending on availability. Post service work has always been on my mind also. I'm thinking of going CE or UT, since everyone always needs someone to fix their electricity or plumbing at some point. SW is another rate I've been thinking about too. Thanks for the advice :)

I really know how you feel-I'm going to be shipping my bike from Sicily to San Diego...which is going to take at least 2 months to get there... however by the time it gets there I'll be "traveling"(message me and I'll explain) for 7 months. so all in all, I'll be out of a bike for approx 10 months...but I get to see my car again after 2 years(^^,)
