Awesome, listened to it 3 times in a row, I think it could do with plants voice but the guitar, harmonica and cow bell (i think there's one, sounds like it) are all an awsome ensemble.
Actually zeppelins version is a re-working of the original. Lot of the original melody lines are there ....just turned around and twisted a bit. They just re-packaged it for the Hippies and pot heads of the 70's :-)
@smokindog Yea they did the same thing with " Babe I'm gonna leave you", right? If I didn't confuse the song name, it was written by Anne Bredon and first recorded by Joan Baez. Led Zeppelin was a true rock band with great musicians. Awesome stuff thanks for posting.
@smokindog Not true. Zeppelin's melodies are much different. Ignorant bullshit to call it "re-packaged". Did Hendrix merely "re-package" dylan's watchtower too?
The original was written and first recorded by husband and wife Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie in 1929..and it was deeper like this one but the Zeppelin song is AMAZING the drum, most the drumming and the guitar...Led 4ever
Thanks! Some of the pics are of Paducah Ky. from the 1937 flood. Look at 2:52-55, My father in law helped rescue folks out of windows with a boat in that flood.
Hey Stella, I'm mostly playing bass and banjo and a little guitar solo from 2:05-2:41. John (The Celt) is playing slide guitar in open D tuning. I'll surly do some Slide guitar lessons after I get my webcam :-)
it is just my opinion led takes the cake when it comes to this song but props to the guy for writing a song worthy for a remake

This version, or the APC one, is way better than the Zep version, in my opinion.

This is very Hippy, couldn't hear this too long without smoking some dope.
Thanks God the Zeppelin re-edited a real blues version of it!
