We have these at my school. The only bad thing is that if the elastic that makes the slider (the thing under the swat) come back and forth breaks/snaps the slider hits the front and back with no resistance. At any school the elastic is bound to break.
@mrbicycletricks Hi there. Do you mean the elastic at the front of the machine that helps centre you if you have gone too far? There isn't any elastic under the seat of an Oartec Slider.
It encourages proper technique to maximize efficiency and reduce checking & also reduces loading on the lower back. It also more closely represents the feel and loads of actual rowing. (the rower moves relatively consistently up or down river while the shell accelerates and decelerates beneath them.)
