The public needs to be aware of Otis Elevator/United Technologies Corporations illegal behavior. In particular, attempting to provoke this caring and devoted father into committing suicide over my child care issues and then conspiring to obstruct justice in federal court against not only me, but in addition 4 other litigants/former UTC employees. Just making sure the recall operates correctly. When the fire control panel sees an alarm from this detector, its programming "tells" it to operate a relay that is connected to the elevator controls, to trigger the recall. The year before this, the elevator didn't recall, and the heat detector in the elevator pit didn't cause a shunt trip.
The keys are common to Otis elevators, different keys are for different things. I know UTF is universally a fire service key. UTA operates the ind. serv. UTE operates the stop/run, I also have a UTB and a UTG I think, they're probably for inspection mode or something.
so the key I found in the otis lift at my old work is quite a rare find. Used to piss all the cleaners off when I would lock out the lift and express to other floors. Can you buy them any where?
I have 2 Chicago keys that one ended up working in our Dover at work for the fan/light and independent service. One is 2135 and the other is H2154. I forget which one worked but I think it was the H key. I need the fire service key since we did a fire drill and now are locked out of using the lift. Have a key number for that so I can go to the locksmith and make one? It would save us the money of having to call the elevator service to come out...
The standard key for Dover fire service is H2389, unless your city has a city-wide uniform fire service key, or your elevator contractor used a switch that uses a different key. H2389 should be it. The keys for the lights and independent service should be H2395.
If nothing else, the fire department probably has one in their posession, or in the knox box on your property, or there might be one in the elevator machine room.
I don't think that it does. But the H1846 key operates the floor/call button lockout switches. It's very similar to the independent service key, but it's wafered a little bit differently.
Phase II operation occurs after the elevator is recalled by either a smoke detector or the fire service keyswitch. Phase II is started by the fire service switch inside the elevator cab. When the elevator is recalled and the fire service key is used in the elevator car to control the elevator, that is Phase II firefighter's mode. I'll post a video of this same elevator in Phase II shortly. Phase II is very similar to independent service.
Usually, they're common to each elevator manufacturer. Otis uses a UTA key, Dover/TK uses an H2395, which is "backwards" from the H2389 fire service key.
yes, it's connected to the fire alarm system. this detector is programmed to trip a remote relay in the elevator machine room to trigger the elevator to go into recall.
Correct, for most systems. Smokes down the hall would trip the alarm system, but the elevators would stay operating until smoke moved near the doors. On old zoned systems, any alarm would cause the elevators to recall if the smokes were all zoned by floor. Some recent zoned systems have elevator lobby and shaft smokes from all floors (except the ground floor) all on one dedicated zone to initiate recall, too.
UTC will work for ind svc to access locked out floors

Very interesting. Does any one know what model of key is used for a Otis 2000H elevator. I presume it is one of these
Model OTK-UTA Otis UTA
Model OTK-UTC Otis UTC
Model OTK-UTD Otis UTD
Model OTK-UTG Otis UTG
Thanks

I know the UTC I have is used for locking out access to a floor through a panel outside the elevator on a wall.

Most fire alarm panels should have a bypass or disconnect switch for the elevator recall. What type of fire alarm panel do you have?
blackmaxima 2 years ago
@elevatorgeek1234 the H2395 key it also activates independent service

Does independent service (not firefighter's independent service mode) unlock restricted floors?

yes it does. at least where i work. usually the roof is a restricted floor, however when i used med emergency or ind svc, it lets me go there.

Is the independent service key unique to every elevator?
elevatorgeek1234 3 years ago
Usually, they're common to each elevator manufacturer. Otis uses a UTA key, Dover/TK uses an H2395, which is "backwards" from the H2389 fire service key.

Does the smoke detector used for phase I recall also sound the building's fire alarm system?
elevatorgeek1234 3 years ago
yes, it's connected to the fire alarm system. this detector is programmed to trip a remote relay in the elevator machine room to trigger the elevator to go into recall.
blackmaxima 3 years ago
So, if another smoke detector was activated besides the one in the elevator lobby(ies) they wouldn't go into recall?
SilentXKnight5204 3 years ago
