@twilightdivamidna because the mother( alou can read about though it itself is white) knew that white tiger or its white cubs are unhealthy and unnatural. If a normal ( orange ) tiger gave birth to a white cub in the wild it will usually abandon it or kill it. you can just google about these things. :)

Please educate yourselves on white tigers and white lions! They are not a natural sub-breed. The albinism is a deformity, but because it turns these animals into such beautiful attractions for the public, they have resulted to MASSIVE inbreeding to further lineage of the deformity. It's very saddening and causes a lot of birth defects and reduced fertility. It's not something we should encourage or look as a show. Please instead raise awareness of this issue.

Its a dilution gene that makes the color lighten. In the case of tigers it ranges from not effecting the black stripes to lightening the stripes and in lions it ranges from cream to white in the their fur. Furthermore Albinism is being completely white fur& pink eyes.

Its a common breeding practice called line breeding that is often used in domestic animals such as horses, cats, & bunnies. Deformities would be highly visible & I have never heard of any having anything out of the norm of the regular chance for their species. They are highly prized & taken care of. More would be in the wild if humans didn't kill them.

My cat did that. She had a litter of 3 but 2 were deformed so she ate them and then the third one she rejected. I pinned her down just long enough for the kitten to get that extra nutrient rich nursing and then I took it from there. (He made it by the way) Obviously it's a little harder with a full blown tiger but props for trying.
