Also, "did I stutter?" is a slang phrase in this context where its meaning basically means "shut up and leave me alone". Stanley obviously didn't stutter, so it is assumed that Michael did in fact hear him when he said "leave me alone". Finally, Stanley is normally a quiet guy, so it's surprising when he suddenly gets angry.
