  • Named my first son after Matt Hensley. He was it.

  • Slightly off on the years. The first footage was from Shackle Me Not which was shot and released in '88, not '87. In 1987 we were all still doing hand plants and bonelesses. Hokus Pokus footage was shot and released in '89 and This Is Not The New H-Street video was shot and released in 1990.

  • look at the song title dumbass youtube called the band AC/CD

  • So true he was ahead of his time. I grew up with him as my fave sk8er to follow. He is the best when I was sk8ing.

  • yes yes dread!

  • The man rides boards the way they're meant to be rode

  • way ahead of his time

  • For more on why skating outranks the categorization of "sport", read the great new book, The Skateboarding Art. Available at Lulu and Amazon. Trust me, you'll like it.

  • I hate the skateboard...

  • whats the name of this song?

  • yo hot beans! cool shiz! u got the stuff for the spicy beans yo! so check out my video of the skate and yo ! good beans!

  • hensley was way ahead of his time i was blessed to be from vista ca.. and around when hensley was in his prime..

  • Yeah!

  • Yeah!

  • My mom and dad gave "Hensley" to me for a middle name!

    Taya Hensley Sorge

  • Your folks have steez.

Gah. boring old fart alert. Matt was super fresh. His part in Plan B sucked because it was too short.

  • that pretty cool!

  • who said you could retire from pro skating?

  • i have a hensley street model unskated from 89. but the king size was my favorite

  • i always wanted the hensley king size deck but it was 2 big 4 me at the time lol

  • was that a 540 near the end?!

  • Cab 5

  • on 0:31 i have that same board but in toy tech deck version

  • God save the label! when punk rock in skateboarding, take black label!

  • bring back this time! bäääääääääst!!!!

  • Fuck yeah those were the days.

    Respect.

  • Yeah Matt

  • Yep, this guy is underrated as far as influence goes. Rodney had pulled most of the tech tricks on flat, but he brought them to obstacles. He, Mark Gonzales, Natas and Ray Barbee invented street skating, and the young guys brought to it to new levels.

  • hensley rips everything

  • I loved that Hell Concave deck, I had one of those.

  • Definitely one of the greatest street skaters. Watching guys like Hensley taught me that a good skate spot is anywhere you want it to be! I grew up miles from any skateparks or ramps, but I had the street. And the street is good.

  • respect.

    one of the greatest skaters.

  • HENSLEY IS GOD!!!...plus my first board was an Hstreet hensley, so maybe thats why I like him so much.

  • i saw him in Port Huron MI in 1991, doing the backside 360 tailgrab one foots hahah

  • nice...

  • MATT YOU ARE A SUPER STAR!!! miss ya buddy

  • matt hensley is a winner at life.

  • Hensley=Hayday

  • Mike Caroll was better !!! but hesnley is still God

  • so ahead of his time

  • cabs over picnic tables back in the day man! thats the shit looking back at it now! and remembering it then.

  • I had a chance to see Hensley in a demo in the early 90's. He was doing switch way back then.

  • Damn, 01.30 is really tight...

  • how many people do fakie 540s on street? thats so tight. the only people ive seen do it is chris cole, Hensley, and my friend Brad who did it down the big 2 at my local park.

  • TJ Skatepark!! That place was fun!

  • 180 kick flip grab.. man that was the famous shot on the magazine and i went and bough a hell concave board, riding it all wobbly..and the rest was history!!!

  • THIS IS THE BEST

    thank you
