yeah definitly softer mallets. and you need to work on coming off the key right when you hit it. this will sound much better when you get better at that. good technique otherwise, and good job
Hey, I'm trying to pick a solo for next year. I played Rain Dance last year as my first four mallet solo (8th grade). would you say this would be very difficult if I didn't have much experiance or practice time??? Good job though, it sounded good (:
lol...i learned rain dance from my friend. i think if you take private lessons with someone who knows what they are talking about, and you practice, you could get this solo pretty easy. it's really fun, which makes it fun to practice. therefore, you practice a lot! haha.
nice note accuracy! just work a little on musicality, let it fluctuate a little, i know that in the keiko recordings that it isnt always quite so metered. but really, nice job with it.
Wow! Extremo close marimba mallets! I'd go over some sections on this piece. This is one of my faves, and some of the parts, however small they are, were flubbed up a bit. But overall, it was a nice performance. Some times the mallets were a bit bright in tone, but it was nice. I enjoy this piece very much!!!
Are those vic firth M171's? I use those. ^.^

whoa man that was scary at the begining, if i was wearing 3-d glasses it would look like im being cock slapped with marimba mallets.

That was beautiful. I'm a drummer who wants to expand... and this (or a hangdrum) would be my prime choices.
Percussion & melody FTW
