Not being offensive. But you were being a bit over dramitic ;) And the words flashed away to quickly so I had to keep pausing to read but otherwise good video :D
of course...the americans always live in a bubble! if they don't enjoy football, then football should mean nothing for the rest of the world! Football is the God of all sports, it is the one to bring countries together
Football is the world's most popular sport ONLY because it got first to most of the countries. WHEREVER FOOTBALL DID NOT GET FIRST (or should I say, wherever it wasn't the first codified team game ever played) IT'S NOT THE MOST POPULAR. Examples: USA, Canada, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Ireland...and more. Football is JUST ANOTHER GAME MADE BY MAN! NOTHING MORE. NOTHING!
there are several great sports that compete with football. Tennis, F-1, Rugby, Moto GP, Cricket, basketball. none can be match with football. Jamaica, China, Argentina, Corea, Venezuela, Brasil, Hollands, England, Ireland, Japan, Russia, Germany, Vietnam, Mexico, France, Congo, Italia,Ukraina, Spain, Colombia,Algeria,Peru, Iraq, Afghanistan,Uzbekistan,Ghana, Yemen,Syria, Romania,Chile, Kazhahstan,Ecuador, Guatemala,Senegal,Greece, portugal,Hungary,Switzerland, honduras, Bolivia, sweden. need more?
Not really sure what you wanted to say... So I'll just repeat what I said: football is the world's most popular sport just because it was the first to spread all over the world and the first to arrive in most of the world countries. NOT BECAUSE IT'S "THE BEST SPORT". If for instance baseball was the first to do so, BASEBALL would be the most popular game in the world, not FOOTBALL. Personally, I think that rugby and basketball are WAY better than football.
lol because you are american. american sports are all boring!!! there is no way baseball could be most popular sport in the world. the reason baseball is popular in america is because they don't have good sports. spreading first is not enough reason to be the most popular. people are not stupid. therefore, most popular sport is the best sport. I think handball is way better than basketball. cricket is copied from baseball. It all depends on people's opinion.
lol why did you block me???ak~ My long writing has gone.... I will just say this. footballers are not athletetic? your country's best athletes are footballer. wake up pal. you are just average person who just play american football for hobby. look at your profile too. I left message there.
Not true. Koreans first saw football in 1882 when some British seamen played a game, and baseball was brought to Korea by American missionaries in 1905. And even if you were right, there are always some exceptions to the general rule, so one country doesn't prove anything.
@nexxogen Well, I didn't say they saw first baseball than football. I said that baseball spread first! But now football is the most popular.
And there aren't any exceptions. Football is growing everywhere. Basketball is also growing in lots of countries but the fact is: there is no country where football was the most popular sport and now it isn't
Uh huh, so football came to Korea 23 years before baseball, but baseball spread first? I would really like you to give me the source of that info.
My point is - in almost every country where football was the first sport to be played it remains the most popular game. Where ever it didn't come first, it's not. For example, rugby is more popular than football in every country where it got before football.
And there are always exceptions, but one example won't prove anything.
@nexxogen Well, you're wrong. Cricket came first than soccer in England and now soccer is the most popular sport there. And baseball was the first sport being played professionally with large audiences in Korea. But now it is soccer the most popular sport there. Soccer won the race
In the case of rugby. Rugby as well as any other sport (cricket for example) are losing popularity everywhere. The same doesn't happen with soccer.
@nexxogen Still, it isn't ONE example. It's the fucking World. You can say that soccer is not popular in the US. But it is a matter of time. Its popularity is already growing in US. I heared that USA vs Ghana had record audiences in US with 20 million watching at an insane hour.
Uh, SOURCES? I won't debate further unless you give me some prove for your claims. Rugby is loosing popularity? Wow, I would really like to know where you got that one from.
Yes, soccer is gaining popularity in the States but YOU have no idea whether it's gonna become dominant some day or not (experts say it WON'T), but American Football is also gaining popularity in the world. My prove is the rapid increase in number of countries that started playing it lately.
Countries that invented the sports we're talking about are not to be considered. There's a great wikipedia article about football history. You should read it. Football EVOLVED in England from old games it didn't GET THERE all of a sudden. And I mean EVERY football not just soccer.
And you obviously didn't get my point about exceptions and general rules. What I meant to say is that in a great majority of world countries the first sport to be played remained the most popular. If there's two or three countries where that isn't the case IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT THE GENERAL RULE IS FALSE! So if you come and tell me 'It's not like that in Korea and Whatsitsnamesia!' I tell you 'Yes,but it IS LIKE THAT IN THE REMAINING 200 countries!' so that must mean that I'm right and you're not.
@nexxogen Yeah "experts"... Lol. One thing experts aren't good is at predicting the future. Rapid increase?! Well it's too soon to be talking about that. Still, I don't think that AF could compete with rugby here because AF suits more your american way of life: hotdogs and ads.
Ok I missed that one. In fact Rugby isn't losing popularity. But the way it is increasing he will never surpass soccer.
Hmm, experts are not good at predicting the future, but YOU are, right?
American way of life is a really bad argument. AF was like that even before television came to people's homes. On the other hand, isn't tennis even more suited for hot dogs and ads? But for some reason no one seems to be looking at it that way. People don't do much thinking, that's the main problem, but they are very much willing to argue with you while their "facts" aren't based on anything solid.
And we're absolutely not talking about what will become more popular than what. That's so not the point. The point is that soccer being the most popular game today is a pure turn of events and nothing more. If some things had happened differently in the past who knows which game this video would be about and who knows which game would be called 'the most important unimportant thing in the world'. It is as simple as that.
vete a la mierda sapo culiao, esto no es nada de correr, tu no lo puedes sentir, pero esto es un amor, una passion profunda a un deporte, no es un simple deporte, es una parte de tu vida que no se puede desahacer de la nada.
i made the portuguese version with permission of pctbone, i actually just change some vids, kept this soundtrack and translate to portuguese all of his sentences. If you know portuguese, im sure you will enjoy.
Yeah, man...Football used to be my religion as well. But I found that Jesus is far better God & friend than football. Believe me. Football is unfortunately a miserable substitute for Creator. I don't downplay the game itself, but it's really religion of millions around the globe. Face the truth.
i know its very popular an a very fun game and lots of money in it but its still just a game like basketball, tennis, golf relax dude its not a religion
Gracias Dios por el fútbol!!!!!!!!! Pero en especial Gracias por la copa América, Copa Libertadores, Recopa, Sudamericana, gracias por América del Sur su gente y su fútbol

Football/soccer is the only sport ever which the strongest team can lose playing well. Even David or Golias may win, by luck or not.
This is the main cause of World's passion for football.
And soccer is one of the most popular sports in Japan, yes.
