  • Hi Frank - I like this song you recommend Rajske Strune - I shall learn it for next Christmas. I must look through my collections of Christmas songs to see if I have an arrangement for choirs which my singers might like - or do you have one perhaps? In 3 or 4 voices. How do you know these singers? Are they from your community?

  • Sorry, typo. The song is " Rajske strune".

  • As you seem to like this song, you might also be interested in another of my favorite Christmas songs "Rajske stune". There are a couple very nice versions on YouTube already, particularly by "Vsakic drugace" and Anika Horvat. Cheers.

  • I know - they are so lovely. I was singing them with Igor Velepic's choir in Ljubljana just before Christmas - and I have always enjoyed hearing them in our twin town Zrece, especially up in the church at Skomarje on Christmas eve. Would your singers perhaps like to visit us here in Sedbergh in the Yorkshire Dales in the North of England and sing some of these beautiful carols for us in December?

  • Yes, here in Slovenia we have lots of beatiful Christmas Carols!! ツ

  • Oh dear, so beautiful. Very merry Christmas, God bless you.

  • OMG this is just amazing - thumbs up ;)

  • THANK YOU....

  • This is my favourite Christmas Carol too, I was just singing it to my children...thank you for this lovely video and Merry Christmas

  • from where do ya all know it? slovenia is such a small country that i'm amazed you even know the song...sorry for my bad english...

    regards, mare

  • Not so small! Our town Sedbergh in Cumbria, England is twinned with Zrece in Slovenia and we have had over 30 choir exchanges between English and Slovenian choirs visiting our town. I first heard this carol about 5 years ago after walking down the mountain from Rogla in the snow on Christmas eve arriving at Skomarje just before midnight - it was being sung in the mass. I have loved it ever since and have taught it to several local choirs here in the Lake District in the North west of England.
