  • If you haven't heard it, Fearlessness by Tori Amos is a variation on this piece. You should give it a listen. Great job!

  • How could there be 12 dislikes on this?

  • Nicely played ! Thank you

  • I like this interpretation

  • didnt really like your version.. anyway nice work

  • You play this piece with skill as befitting a master. I do not consider myself a master, yet (if this is the same piece as I play) I play it slower and as such it sounds like it belongs in a haunted house. Incredibly melancholy and haunting as I have done it. But you play it very well.

(I seriously doubt it is the same song seeing you go from parts like you did at 1:37. NEVERTHELESS, brava.)

    -P.p.

  • Thank you for the interpretation, I really like it.

Enrique Granados, my father's grandfather, tragically died, together with his wife, Amparo, when the Sussex (not the Lusitania), was torpedoed in 1916. I was not there, but I have read it...

  • @Zolochos He was your great grand father? Wow, I would like to say that I am pleased to hear that he has family to this day. I fell in love with this peace the moment I heard it.

  • This piece gives me chills, and is hauntingly beautiful.

  • Beautiful.

  • Just beautiful...

  • Beautiful ! Even if I prefer it played by harp ;)

  • @commandant93 By harp? I would love to see a video of that :D

  • Such a nice music. Well, you play very well..

  • -sigh-

i wish i could play as good as you... ^,^

  • you are wonderful miss i love this piece and i love you too

  • Not bad. The trills are a little...blurred?

  • @jesuisravi Yeah, I had a difficult time with the trills. It definitely took some work to play them

  • you are excellent, lots of great potential! this song sounds professional to me! beautiful, plus i love granados, you made him come to life for me......

    chhaya

  • isn't it supposed to be like way faster at 1:40? every time i hear someone play the 6/8 part its like way faster.

  • you dont play it correct.

  • Please explain

  • @minimalician

And you dont play it at all so shut up!

  • 21 is 12 of Orient...

  • macchè fai? no.

  • it's not bad... left hand is too loud

  • i love youe beautifulllllll very very nice super I am türkish man many many how you from turkey

  • I really love iit !:):):):)

    amazing!

    congratulations!

    xxxx

  • Not bad.... left hand was a little easy, but maybe the right hand made up for it. if you take this song line by line, it is not that hard just sounds like it. Im still a fan of Robert D. Vandall, but you put life in this song. just how soft it was a parts and would go from P to MF was great. keep up the good work. paino for life, Connor

  • Absolutely beautiful.

  • im learning this right now, but not quite as fast as you yet.

good job with it, especially the beginning!

  • Aaaah this is so pretty!!

  • Ahhh, yes, but here's the sad thing.

    Granados died trying to save his wife when the ship they were on was torpedoed. He got pulled onto a life boat, but she was left out at sea and he saw her, so he jumped back in the water to save her, but they both froze to death and drowned. ^^;

  • As easy as it is to overlay such an event on this music, it has nothing to do with it. What is tragic is that they died. We have what we have of his music and we cannot say "what else?"

I do love this piece. Thank you for sharing.

  • It´s so easy to fall in love when someone conveys so much feelings and beauty...

Congratulations for your sensitivity, it´s a pretty gift that makes you special.

Thank you for this Oriental n. 2 by Granados, in your hans becomes prettier.

  • I played this for my final piano recital too! However it was for last year( 2007) I love it!

  • Brilliant!

  • I first listened to this song played on guitar by the Romeroes and thought it sounded beautiful. It sounds equally if not better on the piano. Great playing keep up the good work

  • Very nice playing, im playing on this viola aswell.

  • On the viola! That's awesome, I used to play that before I took up piano =^.^=

  • simply wonderfull!! Pitty that the record quality is so poor :(

  • Thank you. Yea, the quality isn't as great as I'd like it to be, but it still does the piece enough justice to keep it beautiful :)

  • brava

  • Poetic touch and poignant approach.

    Kudos!

Granados (who tragically died onboard the Lusitania in WW I) is a lyrical paragon.

May his "Valses Poeticos" be your next listing here.

  • Your music sounds so beautiful. Im a merimba/bass drum/ tuba player, im hoping to start playing piano soon. I could only hope to be just the slightist bit as good as you. your an insperation.

  • thanks for this lovely piece and keep on playing. you did a great job :)

  • You're welcome and thank you as well =^.^=

  • in spanish, linda pieza la variacion do menor lo mejor qe tiene... im pianist !!

  • soul stirring

  • thank you :)

  • Very good interpretation! Do you know the piece named "la vega" from Albeniz! I think you must like this pièce , the must of Albeniz ( for me) You can listen it on my youtubepage ( search "pianissimo57" ) I'm a self made pianist and i like very much improvise with spain scent music ! You can listen two clips ! My english is not very good, i'm french! Thank's for your performance

  • Sad music rules. I love Granados and you definitely did him justice.

  • Yes it does and thank you =^.^=

  • You know, I've actually learned this piece since first watching you play it. I'm a guitar performance major, but piano is sort of becoming my second instrument. Learning this piece really helped me get into being musical on an instrument other than guitar. Just thought you might want to know that you have officially affected somebody.

  • i love you.................

  • wonderfull...

  • Thank you :)

  • well done, seriously.

but, in my opinion, this sounds so much better played by 2 guitars...

  • Thank you :)

  • Have you heard of John Champ? He was an gifted pianist and he played Granados very well.

  • No I have not, but I will keep an ear out for him :D

  • muy bonito,

me han entrado ganas de montarla al escucharte chica

    es bueno granados ¿eh?

  • Thank you :)

  • Hauntingly beautiful. Excellent work!

Ps. I think the middle section sounded fine. Take it at whatever speed you feel you should.

  • Thank you very much :)

  • Beautiful. Well done.

  • Thank you :D

  • acabas de incendiarme con el más hermoso resplandor . . gracias .

  • Thank you :D

  • I love, I love, I love

    (I don't know what say,I'm french, I don't have very...much vocabulary?)

    ...I love, love, love

  • Merci beacoup.

Je parle un peu francais :)

  • Very well played, though I feel the middle section is too slow for my tastes, and I echo the comments of others - feel the piece more. Still, you play it beautifully. I wish I could play it half as well as you.

  • Yea, it was too slow actually. I hadn't been able to get it fast enough when the recital came around.

    And thank you :D

  • Why thank you :) It is such a lovely piece, I hope you are enjoying it as well :D

  • Sami, me gusto tu interpretacion, tocas andaluza? o villanesca? danza 4 y 5...

    Congratulations!

  • You played very well, and you are very beautiful!

  • Thank you very much :)

  • Thank you, I will keep that in mind when I'm playing the piece. And I think you're the first person to actually give me such advice on any of my piano videos. :D

  • I first heard this piece as a duet for two guitars. I've always loved the piece and this is the first time I actually heard it on piano - it is played so beautifully here ! What is the name of this pianist?

  • Why thank you :) My name is Sami.

  • Excellent performance Sami, hope to see more in the near future. I'm assuming you're a music major? - Dennis

  • Actual no. I'm an elementary teacher major.

  • AWESOME! and a long piece too

  • Thank you. Yes, it was a long piece, but it was a beautiful piece as well :)
