You play this piece with skill as befitting a master. I do not consider myself a master, yet (if this is the same piece as I play) I play it slower and as such it sounds like it belongs in a haunted house. Incredibly melancholy and haunting as I have done it. But you play it very well.
(I seriously doubt it is the same song seeing you go from parts like you did at 1:37. NEVERTHELESS, brava.)
Thank you for the interpretation, I really like it.
Enrique Granados, my father's grandfather, tragically died, together with his wife, Amparo, when the Sussex (not the Lusitania), was torpedoed in 1916. I was not there, but I have read it...
@Zolochos He was your great grand father? Wow, I would like to say that I am pleased to hear that he has family to this day. I fell in love with this peace the moment I heard it.
you are excellent, lots of great potential! this song sounds professional to me! beautiful, plus i love granados, you made him come to life for me......
Not bad.... left hand was a little easy, but maybe the right hand made up for it. if you take this song line by line, it is not that hard just sounds like it. Im still a fan of Robert D. Vandall, but you put life in this song. just how soft it was a parts and would go from P to MF was great. keep up the good work. paino for life, Connor
Granados died trying to save his wife when the ship they were on was torpedoed. He got pulled onto a life boat, but she was left out at sea and he saw her, so he jumped back in the water to save her, but they both froze to death and drowned. ^^;
As easy as it is to overlay such an event on this music, it has nothing to do with it. What is tragic is that they died. We have what we have of his music and we cannot say "what else?"
I first listened to this song played on guitar by the Romeroes and thought it sounded beautiful. It sounds equally if not better on the piano. Great playing keep up the good work
Your music sounds so beautiful. Im a merimba/bass drum/ tuba player, im hoping to start playing piano soon. I could only hope to be just the slightist bit as good as you. your an insperation.
Very good interpretation! Do you know the piece named "la vega" from Albeniz! I think you must like this pièce , the must of Albeniz ( for me) You can listen it on my youtubepage ( search "pianissimo57" ) I'm a self made pianist and i like very much improvise with spain scent music ! You can listen two clips ! My english is not very good, i'm french! Thank's for your performance
You know, I've actually learned this piece since first watching you play it. I'm a guitar performance major, but piano is sort of becoming my second instrument. Learning this piece really helped me get into being musical on an instrument other than guitar. Just thought you might want to know that you have officially affected somebody.
Very well played, though I feel the middle section is too slow for my tastes, and I echo the comments of others - feel the piece more. Still, you play it beautifully. I wish I could play it half as well as you.
Thank you, I will keep that in mind when I'm playing the piece. And I think you're the first person to actually give me such advice on any of my piano videos. :D
I first heard this piece as a duet for two guitars. I've always loved the piece and this is the first time I actually heard it on piano - it is played so beautifully here ! What is the name of this pianist?
If you haven't heard it, Fearlessness by Tori Amos is a variation on this piece. You should give it a listen. Great job!

Poetic touch and poignant approach.
Kudos!
Granados (who tragically died onboard the Lusitania in WW I) is a lyrical paragon.
May his "Valses Poeticos" be your next listing here.
