And yet originally, Avolokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion, was male. The Chinese were not able to understand that a man might be compassionate. For them Compassion must be a female thing. In fact, the feminine aspect of Compassion is the active Tara, sister of Avalokiteshvara --- born from his tears.

  • This had been performed in a show related to Chinese Handicapped association. The message it's conveying is: although one is handicapped, there are thousands of hands out there willing to help. Believe or not, all the performers you're watching now are deaf.
