  • That was it, we certainly need her back!!

  • I understood there were major problems with the cylinder block, but not the specific nature of those problems.

If the block isn't too badly cracked can it be machined and fitted with liners in the cylinders & valve chests?

Depends on how bad the boiler is, before you do all that.

  • @NJPurling The cylinder block was badly cracked (I saw it). I think they're replacing it with a new one of different type (that was originally replaced on BR V1s due to the single block cracking). I'm not entirely sure of the details, but 4771 will steam again.

  • Great Video, 5 Stars! It would be nice to get her steaming again and back on the main line!

  • Magnificant Engine!!

  • r.i.p green aarow

i cant take it nice vid 5*

  • Very nice job and I love the Super D banker. A shame we may never see her running again, but who knows? Never say never.

  • Great sound capture.

  • "Sounding awesome" is an understatement! 5*

    Excellent audio/visual!

  • How dare they put a fine V2 up as a "Static Display?" Makes me sick just thinking about it.

  • as the terminator says "i'll be back"

  • she better be back, I was going to the NYMR to see ride on her but ended up in hosbital, missed it, got home and found out she fuked up, Brilliant :(

  • What a truely stirring sound. Such a shame we won't be able to hear it for many years, if ever. RIP Green Arrow.

  • Lovely loco. I remember seeing her in 1997 when she was undergoing a major overhaul at NRM. She was sitting on one of the roads off of the turntable in the great hall, but it was just her frames & wheels, minus her boiler & cab etc. I think she is currently on display at Shildon, but I did hear a rumour a while back that NRM had promised that when her running life expired she was to go on static display at Bressingham Steam Museum at Diss, Norfolk, in exchange for their loss of Oliver Cromwell.

  • This loco is a great engine. RIP 4771.

  • Rest in Peace Green Arrow.

  • That noise was increiable. I have watched this video loads.Brill

  • Great footage and I liked the ending, holding the shot of the now empty, lifeless track. Thanks for posting.

  • Certainly going out in style! Hopefully we don't have top wait too long for her to return.

  • What an awesome machine this is, what a noise passing Abbots house,i was standing next to you and the noise was incredable!!!!!!
