  • Just so you all know, I sorted this problem after buying a specific spark plug, it was mis-firing off the plug not jsut any plug can go in this bike for whatever reason.... years ago now :) since got myself a saxo vtr project i did 2 years back and now a 2006 suzuki bandit 650 which will be getting modified and on here soon ;D

  • the sounds listen like same than yamaha dt:D

  • I don't know the problem, but I know the solution: Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki & Honda. ;)

  • @notoddenby haha I did the solution ;) suzuki 650 haha

  • i just got mine CPI sm 2007 and it doesnt start. Plese help

  • i have this exact same problem... its defo the automatic choke... SO ANNOYING... it stops doing after a while... so just keep reving it and warming the bike up and it does stop and runs fine after that.

  • Hi i have this bike, but i bought it a non runner, it has compresion and kicks over, it also has a spark... could it be fueling?

if it is the fueling, does anybody know WHAT about the fueling thats gone wrong, Or if you have an idea what it is, tell me PLeez :P

Thanks :) i got the 07 one btw, blue like this one.

  • @paulweston55 If you mean once you press the elec start / do the kick you hear and feel it kick.

then i had this problem when i filled up and was messing with throttle with the lads on the bikes as we we're sat there, it wouldnt start for at leas half hour. then it was great....

must be the fuel for you. maybe flooding or blockage?.

  • Sorted my problem out, dirtmonkey14.

That spark you recommended worked a treat.

    Revs to 10k now.

obvisouly never keep it to that but no misfiring or anything and electric starts the split second you press it :D :D

also cleaned the air filter while i was at it too ha.

    (:

    Thanks alot!

  • @ddamxx

clean soot in cylinder and tu much fuel

  • Hi,

i had the same problem like you. You just need to put out the black snorkel from the airfilter under the seat. That will make your bike going like hell :D

    regards

  • yeah sort of, mine gets the power back when im in lower revs like 5-6000 rather than in a lower gear.

i even took my reed valve off and checked that, also put my original exhaust back on and tried it but had no change.

i also did the same as u, changed the head gasket and spark plug.

so im hopeing striping the carb and air filter down and cleaning it will help.

what spark plug did u get cos ive got an NGK BR8ES but i found somewhere on the internet that said its better to use a BR7ES?

  • I'm sure mine's something like NGK BLES code.

i'll check tomorrow when i look at the air filter, etc.

had an awful time with the bike today in this rain.

cut out twice while in middle lane on the A-Road.

and kept losing power in all gears, and now revs only get to 4-5 rather than 6-7

altough it does seem like its starving itself of fuel or something.

    gotta get it sorted ha,

tell m ehow your carb striping goes mate,

i'll get back to you tomorrow.

oh and does your electric start work ?

  • i may have found the problem!, i striped my carb down and cleaned it took it for a test ride but still the same,.

but i got a new spark plug yesterday (NGK BR7ES) and put that in and it was fine it didnt loose power or missfire once so im hopeing thats sorted it (touch wood) haha

oh and my electric start only seems to work when it wants to lol also do u get oil coming out of your exhaust?

  • Not that i have noticed, ( about the oil)

i'll keep an eye out but never really had anything like that, first few months of having it i notced there was a patch of something on the drive under my bike but never happened again..

Just ordered one of them Sparks, will get it tuesday and tell you how it goes. "fingers crossed".

If it doesnt fix it then ill stick it in my mates garage and tell you what it is, one they've messed about (:

Does your chain loosen alot every so often ?

  • @dirtmonkey14 no no ur gonna use br9es thats the right 1

  • i ve got the same sort of problem, mine wont go past 7500 rpm it starts splutering and looses power like its lossing compresion i checked the head gasket but it was fine, so i think it might be an air/fuel mixture problem

    Has ur bike been derestricted?

  • Hi,

yeah it has been, i've changed the gasket and spark plug and even the H lead conneted to the spark plug, so its nothing to do with that.

mine changes each day, first few gears sometimes dont go past 4-5 but then 6-7600..

when your riding have you ever experienced where your full gear loses power and you have to change to get the power back ? had that a few times since this happened.

rekon striping the air filter and fuel parts to clean will help ?
