He had ketoacidosis the fungus likes it. It is able to travel through tissue and barriers like the nasal septum which is what happened in this case. He was very lucky! My step uncle is the plastic surgeon who worked on this man. This ocurred very rapidly. He supposedly ate bread mold which led to infection. He woke up blind one morning and that was the first hint at a problem. And as for creating new eyes and a nose somehow, that's just not in the cards with our current tech. They had to cut out the infected tissue before it spread to his brain and killed him. There was no time to ponder any other fixes.
1) this infection developed over a LONG period of time, and the only symptom was probably a runny nose. nothing serious right??
2) we don't have the technology to save sensory receptor-rich tissues like the eyes, nose, and mouth. and we won't. not for a long time. neurons have to be reconnected, they don't just re-grow. that's why there are so many para- and quadropelegics. nerve damage takes years or decades to repair, transplants don't last that long or work that well.

things that are harmful to us are created from our waste. things we do affect our enviroment and inevitably affect the chemical changes in organisms. It isnt gods fault. He gave us essentials and left the rest up to us .....SO DONT BE A JACKASS!

I would LOVE to see the source of your information that states that face eating bacteria is a result of human waste products leaching into the environment.
Yes, leachate CAN lead to harmful environmental effects, but the sudden mutation of face eating funghi is pretty impossible.

Why did God invent waste to begin with? Why not just make a more efficient system and bypass that altogether? He seems content to fill the world with brutally horrific dangers and expects us to avoid it and just accept His 'mysterious ways'. Sounds like an excuse to make up for the fact His design is flawed.
