im not sure if this is good but my coach doesn't do any stretching we just go straight into high intensity skills drills and i usually feel so tight and sore as compared to when i stretch on my own basketball practice
hey coach, I would like to say first and foremost that i really do appreciate all of the videos you put on here. I love all of the innovative/creative drills and excercises. I am planning on implementing alot of your excercises along with skill drills during this up coming season for my 7th grade girls. It is my 2nd year with them and we really need the strength/conditioning. We have roughly 10-12 learning sessions before games start and im hoping our game shape is alot better than last year
do you have to do conditioning in basketball shoes? cos mine hurt my right foot after lots of running so should i use running shoes? and how much conditioning do you do in season?
@thenextprototype First and foremost, you need to get your foot checked out by a doctor. Don't let something minor turn into something major. If your conditioning consists of cutting, jumping, and change of direction (which it should)... then yes... I recommend you wear basketball shoes. Running shoes will not provide adequate stability.
@elpli9 Thanks for your feedback. Sorry, I prefer to put the videos to music. If you want to hear the "raw sound of training" I suggest YOU go workout :)
@StrongerTeamDotCom thats like saying if i want to see a movie I should go make one. but fair enough. and oh, i do train, except not everyone's as lucky to have coaches and professionals leading the session. Or a gym.
@elpli9 I understand what you are saying and appreciate your feedback... I was NOT trying to be a smart-ass before... just making a joke. Check out the "Montrose Basketball Pre-Season Workout" video if you want to hear the sounds of training. All of the other feedback I have been getting says people want the videos set to music. Thanks!
I agree. At our program we found out it works best when you make as many drills as you can competetive. The kids benefit individually and the team benefits as a whole.
Do you believe a High School Varsity should be conditioning in the last week of the season?
89tinkerbutt 3 weeks ago
@89tinkerbutt That depends on a variety of factors, can't really give a 'yes' or a 'no.'
