  • lovely cactus

  • The plants are kept in an unheated room from Nov. - May and the temps range from 40 to 60 degrees. The only sun they get is in the early morning for a few hours and most of our winter days are cloudy. The are mostly in the dark. The buds set at the end of April and as long as the soil is damp and the plants aren't moved they will open. In the summer these plants are outdoors in full sun, but they only bloom after a long dark winter. These are Disocactus.

  • We've got one in our patio here in Tucson, but it's never bloomed for us. Where are you growing yours, both relative to your house and in what area of the country? And what are you doing to make yours flower? What time of year does yours bloom?
