  • she still is a beautiful woman!

  • I know this wasn't what i was supposed to be looking at , but her handwriting is so pretty!

  • hairy pits!!!

  • Bella Donna! So beautiful!!! <3 xoxo

  • Well, goodness gracious me!

  • god awful beehive hair though...

  • But when she turns 110 it's all gonna go.

  • @unclealand Yes indeed! But not yet... take a look at the photo Wikipedia have of her taken in 2009, fifty years on from this, I'm guessing. Still a remarkably beautiful woman.

  • She is incomparable! Amazing beauty!

  • Eva Mendes could portray her if they ever did a bio picture on her! :D

  • I love Sophia <3 so beautiful..

  • a little BTW but ....I simply adore Arlene!

  • she looks terrible now.

  • @coconutpower18

Good grief....what would you expect....the woman must be in her 80s. by now

  • I wonder if she's still busy now?

  • i did not find out until recently that loren wore wigs all the time

  • @39mims Sophia has a very famous picture from 60s of her sitting in a roomful of wigs at home. She said one time that she use to change her hair color everyday sometimes she'd be a blond, redhead and a brunette. But most female celebrities of that time wore wigs, falls, etc..

  • My God, she could stop time!

  • She became a model at 15--my dream woman.

  • Whoa!! Dorothy's hair!!

  • beatiful lady still is !

  • Класне шоу! Чому б таке не зробити на українському телебаченні?

  • She's a bella donna!!

  • Always the same fuckin questions. Do you have a picture on at the moment etc.

  • It seems to me the panel already knows who the mystery guest is beforehand. I've watched several different segments of WML, and each time the panel guesses correctly & out of the blue on very little evidence...and I've never seen any mystery guest even come close to stumping the panel.

  • @kvernon1 ... many times the celebrity was unable to disguise a very distinctive voice ... I think that that is the case here ...

  • @kvernon1 In this case, they knew that she was coming to town, hence the rather focused line of questioning and uncharacteristically accurate guess. Off the top of my head, both Eartha Kitt and Raquel Welch stumped them.

  • EFF AYE CEE EEE FACE !!!!!!!!

  • She's so cute and sexy at the same time.Amazing eyes!

  • @tismurdis Peter Sellers made a charlie of himself over her when they were making The Millionairess. Word got around and it made quite a few actresses wary of working with him.

  • @tismurdis But please don't add "she wore a size 4' because she wore a lot more than a 4.

  • Johnny Carson~ "Are you busy tonight?" *LOL* God bless 'im! Thanks for sharing. ;)

  • She can make ANYONE's hearts go "Boom boody boom boody boom boody boom boody boom boody boom boody boom-boom-boom!"

    Well, goodness gracious me!

  • I suppose Big John Daly nailed her, too.

  • She won the Academy Award for "Two Women".

BTW, this was 1960. Although by then, Johnny was the host of Who Do You Trust, he still liked to make guest panel appearance on G-T panel quiz shows.

  • Sophia's great but you gotta love Johnny.

  • Two Women was an amazing movie, and Ms. Loren's performance was one of the most moving and earthy I've seen. The rape scene was especially heartbreaking. Every aspiring actor should see her in that movie!

  • @stickstr8up I will! I'm an actor--and I remember her being shattering in it-and the young actress with her.

  • wow what a face!she must have been so exotic for those times.so beautiful our Sophia.

  • i wanna be like sophia so gorgeous and so sophisticated

  • Wow, look at those big lips of Sophia's. ..... I I'm getting a woody.

  • i can't imagive a better job than john charles daly had.

  • that mustn't lasted about a minute lol

  • Good heavens! wow! no wonder Cary Grant fell hard for her!

  • Holy shit! I'm only 27, and she looks the exact same to me here, as she did in "Grumpier Old Men" as well as even MORE recent pictures I've seen of her. Her and Zsa Zsa Gabor BOTH stayed beautiful well into their 70s. That's VERY rare!

  • I love Johnny Carson's question. "Are you busy tonight?" Hilarious!

  • I love how these women have curves!

  • "Everything you see I owe to spaghetti."

  • I think if the audience was quiet many celebrities would take a lot longer to guess

  • arelene IS such a bloodhound!

  • haha i love the 'subtle' kellog's advertising!

  • Jesus! doesn't she look like penelope cruz here sorta? like in the eyes and nose and cheek bones. *correction* penelope looks like her. lol :)

  • Wow, what a beautiful mouth she has.

  • i would say she is the definition of "an exotic beauty"

  • The most gorgeous woman God ever created.

  • Mamma mia che pezzo di sticchio che era da giovane (anche ora per carità)

  • You can see how tall she is when she passes the panel at the end. Viva Italia!

  • Bella!!!

  • this proved that the more famous you are the easier it is to be guessed at this show.....tut tut

  • She's still beautiful today but on this program she looks as though she's wearing a wig.

  • Her nose is a bit weird here, pointing downwards

  • Sophia Loren is absolutely stunning!

  • These actresses are so lovely, and I love how polite and witty the panelists are.

Sophia Loren was and still is a phenomenon of nature.

  • she makes me want to be italian...

  • Sophia Loren is a timeless beauty. What a huge talent Ms. Loren is!

  • Sophia is always going to be lovely regardless of her age.

  • and that gorgeous in a simple below the knee cut black dress. I could have sewn that myself but of course Sophia made it look like a million bucks. My sister just had a baby and named her Sophia after Sophia Loren.

  • @zamusicza And my daughter named her little girl Loren...after her too. I love the name Sophia...in Greek it is Sonia...meaning WISDOM. (My middle daughter)

  • Non sapevo che Sophia Loren avesse partecipato al programma :)

  • america is way way waaay more better in these times....in the entertainment scenes at least

  • AHHH that was cut short!

  • Oh Ms Loren, you're so popular that everybody in New York knew you were in New York

  • it`s strange how the women of the panel never stand up to greet the celebrity, only the men do. I suppose that`s more to do with the 50`s/60`s mentality of men and women than manners.

  • @bombass2000 it's about manners. men rise to greet a lady - and you'll notice that the women stand too when an older guest approaches, because it was respectful to rise when greeting your elders

  • i'd do her

  • and to think they have classes on how to lose your foreign accent!

  • She has a exotic beauty...

  • Her face is so beautiful and exotic looking. You don't see many people that look like her anymore.

  • When my grandmother was in her younger days, she looked EXACTLY like Sophia Loren! My grandfather once showed me pictures, and it was almost spooky how much she looked like her.

  • As a 21 year old, I yearn for such classy celebrities and good humor. I love the beautiful Sg.ra Loren, una delle donne più belle del mondo. I wish we here in the states could be entertained and feel as close to our celebrity idols as this show made past generations feel to theirs. It's not fair, really!

  • I love how elegant the people all were. We could so use a touch of class today!

  • Superb.. It was a very hard film to watch but she was absolutely superb. And still with us. Ciao Bella...

  • She is completely off the scale. Comparisons are absurd. Beyond words beautiful.

  • Bellisima!! Sophia Loren was and still IS a stunning beauty. You have to see how gorgeous she still looks at 75!!

  • @rebk4jc ye plastic surgery is a big help in that

  • @Blackjesus3 Actually if you see her recent photos she looks like she is naturally aging. She does have wrinkles but she is still a great looking woman. I have nothing against plastic surgery, but it looks like most people go way too far with it. If Sophia ever had any work done it must have been a long time ago, and nothing extreme nonetheless. I wish I could age like that.

  • @rebk1228 u got that right :) dont smoke n eat healthy and u can :D n exercise

  • @rebk4jc SO TRUE!!!!!

  • @rebk4jc YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MINE SHE LOOK LIKE A DRAG QUEEN TODAY

  • again that question:

    "Do you have a movie...?"

    should have been prohibited!

  • umm,ok. I assume you were joking? Only time she wasn't a stunning woman was during adolescence & carried the nickname from other schoolgirls in italy of "toothpick" & yes then she was very much an ugly duckling. For her to be as humble as she was in her later years after all the suffering she went thru during WW2 and then her rise to such fame & acomplishments she's prob'ly the most beautiful woman in the world!!

  • She is beautiful.

  • @Vitte4

    I absolutely agree with you.

  • Thank you.

I just realized my last commet totally made no sense.

    But thanks.

  • in my opinion, there's one movie over the others where her beauty gives an overwhelming sensation to be in front of a Goddess; a kind of modern Venus; that movie is "More than a miracle" where the only sensational miracle is her italian "charme".... her "fascino". I'm so proud of her.....;-)

  • Ms Loren certainly was (is) well built! Too bad they didn't mention her autobiography ("A Tale of Two Titties") or that German bra she designed (the "Stopenzeefloppin"). Mamma mia, she's one a-sexy meatball !!!

  • I love watching these old shows.

Because as I fifteen year old girl, I get to see elegant, classy celebrities for once.

  • me too! Im the same age as you

  • High five sister.

  • @TheIcingOnTheCake Well said.

  • @TheIcingOnTheCake It's great to know that there are still a few nice and classy 15 year old girls out there. I thought it was all about Snooki and JWow nowadays! God bless you hun!

  • @rebk1228

Thank you for your kind words.

I can see why so many adults are worried about the behaviour of today's youth.

A lot of other girls and boys my age are just so terrible!

I really don't see how one can act like that, let alone want to act like that.

I'm actually terrified of what it will be like for my future children, I certainly hope if I ever have a daughter, she'll be more Hepburn than Hilton.

  • @TheIcingOnTheCake You are so right young lady...Today's tramps don't hold a candle to the REAL beauties of the silver screen half a century ago...Doris Day, Debbie Reynolds, Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren are all class acts!

  • Comment removed

  • @Taharah007

I couldn't agree with your more.

I also find that not only were the stars of the Golden Era more beautiful, but they were also generally more talented.

How any producer could put Megan Fox or Paris Hilton in a film is beyond me.

They can barely act. I don't know who they're trying to kid.

  • @TheIcingOnTheCake sophia wouldn't hire either of those no-talent sluts as costume girls....

  • @TheIcingOnTheCake Exactly. Too bad they rarely air anymore.

  • @TheIcingOnTheCake Too bad you didn't grow up in those days. They were so much more wonderful and sweet than today.

  • "Are u busy tonight?" haha!!

  • I hate when they guess the person right away.

  • As do I.

  • One of those rare, unparalleled beauties. Huge eyes, a large nose and a big mouth. But--what a combination!!

Today, people might have tried to cosmetically "improve" her looks........

  • Oh boy....she was a real babe.

  • Thank you for these shows they are so much fun to watch.

  • ugh...she's so pretty

  • OMG - 1:17 Johnny Carson!!!

  • Love the way Johnny C. cuts directly to the Chase... you go boy !

  • Sophia Loren deserves a place in a Museum next to the Venus di Milo the only other woman who could possibly share top billing with her.

  • so beautiful

  • beautiful woman

  • What an absolutely beautiful woman. And, as equally talented.

  • i love seeing these things before they when the oscar for the film they're promoting

  • Sophia Loren she is the most beautiful woman in the world and a greet actress, the gran dame of cinemà.

  • It's a very good movie. The years didn't hurt it at all. It's about the relationship of a mother and daughter and the choices they make as they flee through Italy from the destruction of WW2.

  • Seeing the women of old Hollywood, like Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor, Brigitte Bardot, Ava Gardner etc. makes you realise how dislikable the women of today's Hollywood are.

  • @TheIcingOnTheCake You are so right!!

  • Women such as Sophia Loren were not only stunningly beautiful, but also wonderfully dignified.

  • She looked absolutely regal. I agree that she and Elizabeth Taylor are certainly among the most beautiful women who ever worked in Hollywood. I can hardly wait to see her screen return in 'Nine'. But how did Arlene always guess these guests?

  • You see a lot of these old time screen sirens and you don't get why people taught they were so beautiful. Then you see Sophia Loren and it is like holy smokes. What a knockout!

  • What cheekbones, what a long neck, and she has those beautiful imperfections that mark true beauty. Both she and IngrId Bergman would probably have nose jobs today, but it is these little quirks that make them all the more beautiful.

And, as for her figure--well, Sophia was breathtaking!

  • Ahhh she is soo pretty.

She has such a sweet innocent face,

but at the same time it looks soo devious.

Her and Elizabeth Taylor are the prettiest women to ever be on screeeeeeeeeen :]

  • I'm also a fan of Loren's and, mainly, Dame Elizabeth's.

  • This woman is a natural beauty

  • She has an odly small chin haha but she is gorgeous!! Those eyes!! Its crazy this was like 50 years ago and she is still making movies now!! Nine comes out in November!! :)

This show is so great!! I have been watching so many of these! Its highly entertaining, Barbra, Ethel, Lauren Bacall, Julie Andrews... its so fun!!! Entertainment was so different back then!

  • Much better than most nowadays reality shows.

  • Find Dame Elizabeth Taylor's episode of What's My Line. She was very entertaining.

  • That has to be a wig. So much hair!

  • no, its her natural hair. italians are known for having very thick beautiful hair.

  • That is supposed to be a wig.

I think she has been wearing a wig since the early '60.

    But she is unique anyway

  • I love Johnny Carson; he's awesome!

  • She's beautiful! Even before lip plumpers!

  • Interesting observation.

Apropos of nothing.. um... what color is the sky in your world?

    Just curious.

  • OmGod!!! I'm speechless!

    That's timeless!

  • those eyes are so catching, shes gorrrrgeous, as well as her voice

  • audrey hepburn didn't have a starved "look", she WAS starved when she was a child during the war.

  • i think both are beautiful. however, i prefer women who have a little bit of a figure. both are beautiful, but sophia just has the complete figure. its like comparing kiera knightley to penelope cruz

  • ok, that's valid. i agree, both are beautiful : )

  • I love the sheer class of so many Hollywood women back then...which includes Sophia Loren. She was and is a class act!!!

  • +1 for Johnny Carson: "Are you busy tonight?"

  • Penelope Cruz is also beautiful, but she's not a classic like the others.

  • Mamma mia!!

  • No actress alive today compares with the beauty and feminine charm of Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren, Deborah Kerr, and Jean Simmons
