  • Thank you for the comment. It was called Fajin Set before Master Dong changed the name to Fast Set. The Family Fast Set is called Short Form. Master Dong also called Hao Style- Slow Set.

  • There seems to be a lot of confusion about the forms practiced by the Dong schools ,in one of which I'm a teacher. What's being demonstrated here is not the Family Fast Set, but the, very different, Fajin Set, which is longer and expresses more Fajin. Further, Slow Set and Long Form are synonymous. The Hao style is quite different and distinct.

  • @guldhug007 thank for that interesting clarification

  • This is not the Tung Family Fast Set, this is the Fast Set - the Slow Set done Fast with modifications.

  • @ShiningMoonhawk Master Dong changed the names of some Tung family forms so it's easier for the students to remember the names of these forms by the speed they are practiced. We have the Slow set ( Hao Style), Long Form ( Yang Style), Short Form ( the Ying Jie Fast Set ) and the Fast Set ( the Fa Jin set ). Peace & Aloha!

  • Thank you Master . A lot of pratiquant of Dong/Tung style practice this set very quickly. I always know it's not the only way. You give me a new dimension to my practice. Long life to your family.

  • @taijibagua04 I will pass your message to Master Dong. Xu Jin ( store energy) is as important as Fa Jin( issue energy) in all the sets. Xu Jin first, Fa Jin after. It's good to take time to get the posture right, Xu Jin, and then work on the speed. Peace and Harmony to your family, too!

  • @goldhugo007 Thank you for your comments. I know these concepts but they are more often explained when you work the Family Set. It is unfortunate that a lot of practitioners do a competition of speed with the Fast set and are very proud of being the fastest, even if their movements were empty.

  • @taijibagua04

Fast ( fajin) set is not just about speed. Master Dong always say " in order to "fajin", one needs to "xujin" first". How to xujin? It takes us back to practice the forms with all the taiji principals. Move fast is good, but move fast and powerful is even better.
